Representing as much of the Bournemouth Belle as I currently have stock for.
Resting on the baseboards of an N gauge layout as I do not have baseboards for the 00 gauge layout yet.
Series of three boxes, as a one day project, to represent either yourself, someone else, or a small world. Mine represent someone, and hold objects that do that too.
Construit à partir de 1654 par le premier architecte du roi Antoine Lepautre, l'hôtel de Beauvais repose sur des caves voûtées en ogives (voir photos), vestiges d'une ancienne demeure du XIIIème siècle, ayant appartenu à l'abbaye de Chaalis.
C'est pour la première femme de chambre d'Anne d'Autriche, Catherine-Henriette Bellier, devenue baronne de Beauvais en récompense de son dévouement à la reine, que l'hôtel de Beauvais fut construit, avec, dit-on, des pierres initialement destinées au chantier du palais du Louvre.
L'une des singularités de l'hôtel de Beauvais est de présenter, au rez-de-chaussée de sa façade donnant sur la rue François-Miron, de larges baies qui, à l'origine, faisaient office de boutiques qui permettaient à sa propriétaire de percevoir des loyers.
Catherine Bellier, surnommée Cateau-la-Borgnesse, réputée autant pour sa laideur (un mascaron de la cour de l'hôtel semble la représenter) que pour son goût des plaisirs de la chair, aurait, selon la légende, déniaisé Louis XIV lorsqu'il était adolescent, avec la bénédiction de la reine Anne d'Autriche (dans son « Évocation du vieux Paris », Jacques Hillairet s'amuse à rappeler les déboires que connut la reine dans l'intimité avec son époux, Louis XIII, manifestement peu porté sur la chose).
L'histoire de l'hôtel de Beauvais se mêle à l'histoire de France le 26 août 1660, lorsque, depuis le balcon surplombant le portail de la rue François-Miron (alors prolongement de la rue Saint-Antoine), Anne d'Autriche assiste en compagnie de Mazarin et Turenne, à l'entrée triomphale du jeune roi Louis XIV, nouvellement marié à Marie-Thérèse d'Autriche.
En 1686, à la mort de son époux Pierre Beauvais, Catherine Bellier vend son hôtel qu'elle continue à habiter en tant que locataire jusqu'à son décès en 1690.
Au XVIIIème siècle, l'hôtel change à plusieurs reprises de propriétaire. En 1755, Mozart - alors âgé de sept ans - y passera six mois en compagnie de sa famille.
Devenu ensuite immeuble de rapport, l'hôtel est en partie remanié au début du XIXème siècle. Il servira même un temps de maternité dans les années 1940, époque à laquelle la ville de Paris en prit possession.
Depuis 2004, après d'importants travaux de rénovation, l'hôtel de Beauvais abrite la Cour administrative d'appel de Paris.

This photo represents a small fragment of a massive painting ("Les Nymphéas", the water lilies) done by French artist Claude Monet in which you're enveloped by his art. Actually, it's a series of pond-based paintings, and there are several paintings which hang all around you and make you see his point of view.
This museum, the Musée de l'Orangerie in Paris France, really is a must-visit where you're in town. It's perhaps a bit smallish but there are truly some treasures to be found from the artists like Picasso, Cezanne and Henri Rousseau, who created some of my favourite paintings. It's within walking distance from the Louvre so if that's too crowded go here. If it's not crowded: do both. Dare I say I had a better time in this place.

El grupo de teatro Acción Reacción, representa el viernes 2 de Noviembre de 2012 a las 21:30 horas la conocida obra "La pulga en la oreja", una comedia de Georges Feydeau y lo hace a beneficio de ASODEMA (Asociación de Discapacitados de Madridejos) en su 25 aniversario.

Raimunda sospecha que su esposo le está siendo infiel al recibir por correo los tirantes de su marido, procedentes de un hotel de... dudosa reputación. Es por eso, que no duda en ponerse en contacto con su mejor amiga la cual la ayuda a idear un plan para descubrirlo... ¡Pero las cosas se complican!
El botones del hotel a donde acudirá Raimunda para encontrar a su esposo infraganti, es idéntico a su esposo.
Pero estos no son los únicos personajes envueltos en esta aventura: un violento y apasionado brasileño, un joven que no puede pronunciar las consonantes, un mayordomo impertinente y más de una docena de estrambóticos personajes terminaran enredándose entre los pasillos, puertas, cuartos y escondites de este hotel para ofrecernos una comedia llena de confusiones y desternillantes situaciones.

What a mission it is to represent Afrika, considering that the definition or the authenticity has been long lost in colonial and unsure translations. These days, while other people cling on to the different tribal traditional customs that they say represent their Afrikanism, there is also a growing consciousness of how tribalism was a component of colonial ruling - something that was rather given to Afrikans. Also, speaking in a liberal tongue is dangerous because liberalism politics are those that are contemporary Anglo-American politics, such as diversity, rainbow nationism, and are essentially part of the capitalist era that continues to burden Afrika. Liberalism, in trying to forge the politics of "hybridity", becomes somewhat ideal and almost counter pan-afrikanism, while too much pan-afrikanism, to some, might feel regressive. So, how do we represent Afrika since international tourists always ask questions linked to what the "Afrikan" culture is and since young Afrikans are in search of an identity? We want to answer global tourists so that we can change the stereotypes they might have about Afrika.
As I explain my cultural transgressions to Antje, I am also trying not to be an exhibitionist, like how African culture is always sold to Europeans for commercial value.
I remember studying African Contexts in University, which explained how the history of Afrika needs to be re-written by Afrikans so that it can be a grass-root history that those it speaks about can relate to. I think the most difficult thing (looking at the international media potrayal of Africa - tribal, primitive, deeply traditional, backward) is to tell the stories of how Afrikans are completely normal people like anyone else in the world. And because of this, I do not feel like the famous exhibitionism of Afrikans (as potrayed by "others") is necessary for the growth of the Afrikan pedagogy, which we will eventually teach to the next generation. I think because of this straddle and dilemma in how to represent my surrounding, I found it more appealing and true to my own self to rather tell my own stories when engaging with those from different countries, so that it is always clear that other Afrikans might not necessarily think the same, but that this is my perspective, probably influenced by my background and the social ideologies that continue to shape my thinking - some of which are forms of rebellion and some, not necessarily.
The understanding that Afrikans are as complex as everybody else, and that though I grew up in a typical African (extended) family of ubuntu, I have my selfishness off moments, and by being an African woman, I am not necessarily subordinate and traditional, is necessary. It might be surprising that there are still ridiculous stereotypes about Afrika, but I have really come accross the most sickening and irkingly offensive comments about Afrika, from "is it like a jungle?" to "my sister told me to not sleep with anyone while I'm here in Africa because there is so much AIDS," to the general assumption that Afrika is a country of homogenous primitive 'savages.' I remember watching a documentary which was shot by an American filmmaker in Lagos, capturing people who work in dumping areas and recycle gabbage to make a living. These people were poor, doing that work not by choice, but the documentary completely romanticized the situation of how Nigerians "are doing things for themselves in ways other people wouldn't." I wondered why - if they wanted to show the positivity of dedicated people of Nigeria - didn't they go to Nigerian universities, community development centers, NGOs, entreprenuers and so on. Did it have to be (romanticized) dumping places?
The crisis continues in our every-day conversations as Afrikans, where others rebel against Western hair products (weaves, creame relaxer) and argue that afro and dreadlocks is a more Afrikan way of looking. Still, in some Black Consciousness movements, people believe that we are black people and that this blackness is an acknowledgement of how much colonization has stripped us of our culture. To these groups, blackeness has no tribalism and customs because it is a progressive political statement that fights for the economic freedom of black people. In other words, it is a unity (as opposed to tribalism) of all black people because if we still conform to tribalism, we are essentially conforming to colonization. Whereas, the Rastafarian movement also marks itself as the arc of the true Afrikan culture with its deep Afrikan reference, and in this instance, tribalism and homosexuality are most often condemned as unafrikan.
It continues to be complex, and growing up, I used to easily be able to write and articulate about Afrikanism because I had not been conscious of these underlying issues and different perspectives, but now I think I understand the complexity of the matter. So, essentially, in representing myself (something I can hardly get wrong), I believe I am representing a small portion of what Afrika is today. I know I could never be able to speak for all Afrikans, and this is okay.

Elles sont vingt-trois, sélectionnées pour représenter le Cameroun à la première Coupe du monde de foot militaire féminin. Cette semaine, elles s'entraînent au stade des Omblais.
Là-bas, le foot féminin connaît un fort engouement, depuis deux ans. « Depuis que l'équipe nationale féminine a terminé vice-championne de la Coupe d'Afrique, en 2014, et sa belle performance lors de la Coupe du monde, en 2015. »
Et là-bas, les femmes sont nombreuses à s'engager dans l'armée. Rien d'étonnant, dans ces conditions, à ce que le Cameroun figure au tableau des six nations, ayant engagé une équipe à la Coupe du monde militaire de foot féminin. Première du genre, après celle de leurs homologues masculins, « alors que des championnats du monde militaires existent déjà pour beaucoup de sports ».
Initiée en 2013, « douze pays y étaient représentés, et l'Afrique y avait envoyé deux équipes, Cameroun et Côte d'Ivoire. La finale s'était disputée entre Oman et Irak, et c'est l'Irak qui l'avait emporté. La France avait été éliminée dès le premier tour », rappelle l'adjudant Éric Masquet, réserviste de la division militaire départementale de la Manche, à Saint-Lô.
Pas rancunière, elle s'est pourtant portée volontaire pour recevoir et organiser - en Bretagne, « Jean-Yves Le Drian a certainement facilité l'organisation » souffle un responsable - la coupe féminine.
Huit équipes vont ainsi en découdre jusqu'à la finale, qui se déroulera le 5 juin, à Vannes. Les matches, tous gratuits, se jouent à Cesson-Sévigné, Rennes, Vannes, Saint-Malo, Chantepie et plus du tout à Saint-Brieuc, qui a finalement jeté l'éponge, depuis que des grévistes ont stationné un tracteur sur le terrain de foot.
Et pour les entraînements, Chantepie, Châteaugiron, Noyal-sur-Vilaine, Saint-Jacques-de-la-Lande et Betton ont mis leurs infrastructures à disposition.
C'est ainsi que lundi après-midi, les vingt-trois joueuses camerounaises ont foulé la pelouse du grand terrain du stade des Omblais. C'est ici qu'elles vont s'entraîner - et qu'il est possible de venir les encourager - mercredi et vendredi encore, de 10 h à 11 h 30, si tout se déroule comme prévu.
Pas douillettes
Elles ont entre 19 et 26 ans, et s'appellent Isis, Prudence, Rose, Marie-Laure, Agathe, Agnès, Marthe... Toutes sont engagées dans l'armée. Et c'est concentrées et le visage grave qu'elles entrent sur le terrain. « Elles ont fait un mauvais match samedi, il faut qu'elles se rattrapent si elles veulent passer au second tour », explique leur coach adjoint, Joséphine Mike. Battues 6-0 par la France...
Pourtant, leur objectif reste le même que pour toutes les équipes, « gagner », sourit Jacques-Douglas Menguele, leur kiné. « Mais bon, le sport c'est avant tout du fair-play et la langue la plus parlée au monde. Le sport, le foot rapprochent tous les peuples, c'est aussi le message de cette Coupe du monde. »
Dont la vocation est également « de faire la promotion du football féminin, tout en rapprochant les armées de la population. Montrer que dans les armées, les femmes sont très bien considérées », ajoute Éric Masquet.
Et même en short et balle au pied, disciplinées. « Elles reçoivent des ordres et les exécutent. Ce sont avant tout des militaires », explique encore leur kiné. « Plus techniques que les garçons, elles se plaignent moins quand elles tombent ! » renchérit Éric Masquet.
La coupe du monde militaire de football féminin en Bretagne
En mai et juin prochains, la Bretagne accueillera la première coupe du monde militaire de football féminin. L'équipe de France, emmenée par la Finistérienne Justine Gourvil, fait partie des favorites.
Pendant 15 jours, entre le 25 mai et le 3 juin, la Bretagne va accueillir la première coupe du monde militaire de football féminin. Les rencontres auront lieu dans six villes de la région : Cesson-Sevigné, Rennes, Chantepie, Saint-Malo, Saint-Brieuc et Vannes. Le titre de champion du monde sera disputé par huit nations.
La France parmi les favorites
La France, vainqueur du tournoi européen de football militaire féminin en mai 2014, fera partie des favorites. L'an passé, les filles avaient échoué de peu aux jeux mondiaux militaires de Mongyeong en Corée du Sud, battues par le Brésil au bout des prolongations. Cette année, la France compte notamment dans ses rangs la Finistérienne Justine Gourvil, Caporal-Chef au 2e RMAT de Bruz et defenseur de l'US Saint-Malo en deuxième division féminine.
La Coupe du monde de football militaire est une compétition de football réservée aux équipes nationales militaires. Elle est organisée, tous les deux ans, par le conseil international du sport militaire (CISM).
La compétition a été créée en 1946, au lendemain de la seconde guerre mondiale, pour opposer pacifiquement les armées du monde. Elle s'appelait à l'origine Championnat du monde militaire. À partir de 1948, elle passe sous l'égide du CISM, nouvellement créé et présidé par le Français Henri Debrus, vice-président du Conseil des sports des forces alliées1.
Le nom a changé lors de l'édition 2001. En 1995, les Jeux mondiaux militaires sont créés, ils se déroulent tous les quatre ans et intègrent le tournoi de football. Un tournoi féminin dénommé Championnat du monde militaire féminin a été créé en 2001.

realizamos la actividad 350 la cual conto con la participacion de dos
brigadas ambientales, un grupo de rescate y nuestros estudiantes del
instituto, uniendonos a la lucha que cada dia nos apremia para asegurar el
futuro de nuestros hijos en un mundo equilibrado con su medio ambiente. La
actividad que nos sirvio para realzar estos valores e informar a la
comunidad en general sobre el cambio climatico fue un exito, aun estamos en
la lucha por concientizar a nuestros conciudadanos, pero la lucha continua
mientras existamos personas que deseemos mantenernos en pie. aca les envio

The main premise of MMI was that individuals would represent "Who they are", where they are from, they would represent their countries, and who they are as stylists, models etc. They would show a side of themselves to the judges that was all about them, what they liked what made them unique.

These photos represent our trip to Livingstone Island, the place from which David Livingstone first viewed the falls.

Due to the time of year, the Devils Pool was not open (not late enough in the dry season, still a little too much water) and we were directed to The Devils Hot Tub (they call it Jacuzzi®, I don't want to get sued)
What you don't get to see are the METRIC TON of photos where I look like I am about to fall to my death and I am not at all happy about it. Artists preference, too bad.
It was really very nice and I suppose we weren't in that much danger, but good grief, the guides, although very sure footed, takes some risk running about making sure everyone is safe and getting good pictures.
Water was chilly but not cold, middle of the winter there, but sitting at 17°S so we were actually in the southern "torrid zone"
