Replacing the head gaskets on a 1996 XM V6 12v with the engine in-situ

In 1724, a chapel was built near the Occoquan River to serve Hamilton Parish. As the population of the area now known as Fairfax County increased, a new parish by the name of “Truro.” The church at Occoquan was soon replaced with a frame church near Pohick Creek, built around 1730. The growth and development of Truro Parish was shaped in-part by its most prominent vestry members, the Washington Family who lived at nearby Mount Vernon. Another important figure in the parish’s history is George Mason, a planter who owned nearby Gunston Hall plantation and who represented Virginia in the constitutional convention in addition to drafting the Virginia Declaration of Rights, one of the models that eventually became the Bill of Rights.

The vestry of Truro Parish authorized the construction of a new parish church in 1767 and resolved to move the center of the parish to the present site. Construction of the present Pohick Church began in the early 1770s with funds raised from the sale of the pews in the proposed building. The designs for Pohick Church were drawn up by James Wren, who also designed the very similar Christ Church in Alexandria and the Falls Church. Completed in 1774, Pohick was only used for a few years before the disestablishment of the Anglican Church in Virginia. George Washington resigned from its vestry in 1782 and the last colonial rector, the Rev. Mason Weems ceased holding regular services soon thereafter.

In the mid-1830s, Virginia’s Episcopal Bishop, the Rev. William Meade, wrote a brief account of a visit to Pohick Church, lamenting the deserted pews of the church of Washington and Mason. His appeal inspired an effort to restore Pohick Church for active service. Under the direction of the Rev. W.P.C. Johnson and with the support of the Washington Family, Pohick was restored in 1840. However, the church was heavily damaged during the American Civil War when United States soldiers ransacked the historic building, seeking souvenirs in connection with Washington. An image of the interior with a shrub growing atop the reredos and the tablets of the creed, Lord’s Prayer, and commandments torn apart was taken by famed Civil War-era photographer Matthew Brady. The exterior walls of Pohick Church bear graffiti of soldier’s signatures carved into the sandstone quoin stones and door surrounds. Pohick’s churchyard was used as an encampment and Professor Thaddeous Lowe launched his observation balloon, the “Intrepid,” from the churchyard to spy on Confederate army positions.

Pohick Church was restored for services in 1874 with support from the Mount Vernon Ladies Association and the Daughters of the American Revolution. The rectangular church is built of bricks laid in Flemish bond with sandstone trim used as quoining stones on the corners as well as pilasters and pediments which frame the two west and one south entrance doors. Inside, Pohick Church has been restored faithfully to its colonial arrangement with box pews laid out between two aisles connecting the west entrance doors to the chancel at the east. Of particular note is the large stone baptismal font, inscribed 1773 (when the present Pohick Church was built), but believed to be much older, possibly a Medieval mortar.

Hazelwood is Australia’s dirtiest power station and one of the most polluting in the world. Labor promised to close Hazelwood in 2010 but now they sitting on their hands. Not even the devastating mine fire last year has compelled them to act. The campaign to close Hazelwood with an economic transition plan was re-started with a speech by Greens MP Ellen Sandell on the floor of parliament. Over 200 people gathered at lunchtime on the steps of Parliament House to support her call for the Labor Government to start the closure of Hazelwood for a safe climate and protect the health of communities.

`During 1916, Walter Richmond Butler designed a new Mission to Seamen to replace premises in Siddeley Street, which had been resumed by the Harbour Trust during wharf extensions..

He designed the complex using a mixture of styles, one of which was the Spanish Mission Revival which had become active in America during the 1890s. Appropriately the chapel and bell tower took on this style, whilst the administration, residential and recreational building adjoining shows the influence of C. A. Voysey's domestic architecture, with its projecting gable, pepper pot chimneys and three adjoining oriel windows..

Lady Stanley, wife of the Mission's patron Governor Stanley, laid the foundation stone for both of the above sections of the complex in November 1916. Both were completed by late 1917 whilst the stupa-like gymnasium was finished soon afterwards..

The complex is a milestone in both the introduction of the Spanish Mission style to Melbourne and the initiation of England's most recent approach to domestic architecture which was to continue in Walter Butler's residential designs into the 1920s..

The buildings are near to original externally and possess some notable interiors such as the chapel, the internal courtyard and loggia, the main hall and lobby and the mysterious gymnasium.'.

I replaced the sky and went for a more dramatic look. I'll add the original shot below.

First problem occurred. The battery cables while flipped do not reach the terminals on the controller well enough to allow for slack. I placed a lapped washer over the terminal post and then placed the cables on top to help them clear the separation channels.

This '68 GMC truck underwent a stunning transformation. The step side bed was replaced by a fleet side bed with a new wood floor. The gas tank was relocated to under the bed from behind the seat in the stock location inside the cab. Various rust repair and body work was performed and a fresh coat of Venetian Red paint was applied to the body , with the top of the cab painted white . The interior was completely redone with a new bench seat, carpet, door panels, headliner and Instrument panel. All of the chrome and trim was replaced along with new wheels and tires.

03 Mar 2006 and Stagecoach West 32086 M86WBW (a former Thames Transit Dart) heads through Ruardean?

This wasn't long after Stagecoach had taken over Dukes Travel of Berry Hill and acquired a load of local service work. Much was later surrendered and this is now operated by Belfitt Mini Coach Hire!

This is my second attempt, replaced the background to get rid of the distracting light and variation. Other than that I have pretty much left it as is.
