ore than 1300 homes across Northern Ireland will have boilers replaced as a result of a NI Executive boiler replacement initiative. The £2million pilot scheme, launched in June 2011 is designed to help older people who don't qualify for other energy efficiency improvement schemes, some of those most vulnerable to fuel poverty.
Some homes in Northern Ireland have boilers 30 or 40years old, which are very inefficient and costly to run. Replacing these can increase the efficiency by more than 30%, making the fuel go further.
The scheme has also given a boost to more than 600 local heating installers.

I got everything back in place okay (eventually!) & fitted the new replacement screen but it wouldn't power up properly (the screen remained blank but the backlight came on) so I'll have to send it to the professionals to fix after all!!
For years, the missing viaduct at Glentarken presented an obstacle to anyone who wanted to walk the former railway line between St. Fillans and Lochearnhead. The railway opened on the 1st of October 1901 and despite the substantial levels of engineering that were required to complete the project, it only carried passenger traffic for 50 years. Exactly 50 years, in fact as the railway closed on the 1st of October, 1951, although the line remained in use till 1959 to aid the construction of the Breadalbane Hydro-Electric power scheme.
Once the tracks were lifted, any significant sections of metal were also salvaged for their scrap value and this included the central span of the Glentarken Viaduct. The money was eventually raised to build this brand new bridge, linking the original concrete abutments for the first time in over 50 years.
This replacement span was constructed as part of a plan to lay a path along the old railway line between Lochearnhead and Dalchonzie. I really hope they're given the funding they need to bring their project and vision to life and I'm not just saying that because I want to see the palisade fencing removed from the St. Fillans Tunnel...

A total knee replacement involves replacing the damaged bone and cartilage of the knee joint, which provides articulating surfaces. The total procedure takes approximately an hour to hour and a half to perform and recovery time varies between patients. Correct rehabilitation following surgery significantly improves outcomes.

This is just sad to watch! the UP has to put a third main here, and it wont fit under the CNW Signals. Now, only a few hours after this picture was taken, no signal heads exist on the Signal Bridge, and tomorrow (4/22/12), it will be the last day this signal bridge will ever see again :(. My advice to you is go shoot it! Melrose Park, IL.

Stagecoach South buses on rail replacement work at Worcester Park Station Friday 25th August. Alexander-Dennis ALX400-bodied Trident 18514 departs on an all-stations to Chessington South service.
The lengthening of the suburban platforms at Waterloo caused many of its platforms to be closed during August, and from Saturday 5th to Holiday Monday 28th a considerably reduced service was operated. The Chessington South service was withdrawn completely, with rail replacement buses operating to and from Worcester Park to connect with train services on the Epsom route. Some buses also ran non-stop from Worcester Park to Chessington World of Adventures for the convenience of Summer Holiday visitors to the Theme Park (normally it would be a ten-minute walk from Chessington South).

No sooner had the DLR been finished than they were having to rebuild it to increase capacity, since it had been constructed on the cheap. Even in 1989 the use of Routemasters was a rarity. I suspect this was a Sunday when they would otherwise have been sitting idle. This is North Greenwich with the DLR behind on the viaduct and bridge - now abandoned.
