The new door Matt and I just installed between the living room and garage. Previously there had been a very flimsy bi-fold door there which had a huge gap under it and kept opening by itself. So we replaced it with a nice solid flat door. Was interesting getting everything level. It has also since been painted brown to match the wall which I think is a huge improvement.
The lighthouse was built in 1912 replacing an earlier 1858 brick tower. The 55 foot tall memorial to Samuel de champlain with six stone columns was added around the light and dedicated in 1912 by president William H. Taft. At the base of the tower are bronze sculptures of Samuel de Champlain, an American Indian and a french voyageur. The lighthouse was inactivated in 1926.
The site was originally a French fort, captured by the English in the French and Indian war and seized by Vermont's Green Mountain Boys during the American Revolution. Located at the south end of Lake Champlain across the road from the Crown Point Historic site.
State funds were provided for extensive repairs in 2009 to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Champlain's discovery of the lake that bears his name.

I figure all three horizonal pieces of 2x4 need to be replaced.
There is also a rotten piece behind that window trim.

This replaces an earlier image of the same mural. I used to work in a building just out of frame off to the right. I think this site was vacant the entire 18 years I was there and certainly the 8 years since I left. Apart, that is, from a brief few months when building works produced the walls for a maze of small cubicles which were torn down before the building progressed any further. Now, what industry requires small cubicles we all wondered?? The footprints of the walls are still visible on the concrete slab. When this mural by artist Mimby Jones Robinson appeared a few years ago I was not overly impressed ('not my style' I thought) but it has grown on me - a striking figure and strong colours in an otherwise bleak location.
We removed and replaced this private alley, where homeowners on opposing streets drive behind their houses to access their garages on either side.
Sometimes I like to get photographs of the little details that all add up into making a location distinctive, so at Bratch Locks in February 2017 my eye was drawn by this simple instruction - Please replace chain after operating lock.
We've finished our work replacing the slate roof of 135-year-old DuBourg Hall at Saint Louis University in partnership with Old World Roofing. This unique project took the better part of a year as we worked in tandem with other trades. The hall opened in 1888 and is home to several of the school's administrative and academic departments. It's a unique building with two-foot-thick, load-bearing walls, cast-iron staircases and massive wood trusses. We're thankful for the opportunity to be a part of this historic work. Thanks to our skilled team and to Old World.

These guys have been set the task of replacing these panes of glass. There are literally thousands of these panes of glass. I would think they will be at it for months.

there are little plants growing in the dirt that filled in the feet. a thousand cliches to wax to the point. i like it.
Gardeners replaced some of the cedar boards on the raised beds after 6 years in the gardens. They use an L bracket for the corners.
We applied for and obtained the building permit. We handled all inspections. We removed the existing concrete driveway. We removed all debris from premises. We graded and compacted all soil. We poured the new concrete driveway and walkways with 4000 PSI concrete with fiber mesh reinforcement. We hand troweled the concrete with a double broom finish. We cut all expansion joints accordingly.
