I just brought a couple more of these heads off ebay last night to try a few more of this type of repaint. I wanted to try using pencil on a repaint like Retrograde and Amber-honey do.Thanks to them both for their great tutorials!
Went fairly well, lots too keep in mind, and I want to try again and see if I can do better now I have a bit of a feel for it. Anyway, this head turned out ok for something quite new. I haven't done anything anime style in ages.
Head's on a temp body just for this photo. Her more proportional body with a smaller bust is on the way, this bod will go to my Angel gate (Pullip knockoff) head when it's complete. Hairs on the way too. Boy did I go on an ebay binge last night :P I love obitsu!
Pastel, water colour pencil and acrylic paint. Sorry for the not to great light, it's raining here, very wintery weather, and this was the nicest I got without much natural light, which I prefer :)

She has inserted eyes. I cut a hole in the eye socket and stuck the eyes from inside (sounds gruesome but she didn't cry). They look so realistic and they are glass-like acrylic.
Real lashes have been attached too.
Cleo has also been repainted with artist grade acrylics and blushed with soft pastels. Then sealed with MSC.
Eyes and lips have been glossed. She also got a manicure and pedicure.
Her original hair has been removed and I partially re-rooted her with mohair.
She wears a OOAK dress I sewed for her with dupioni silk and a hair pin with two flowers made from silk.
Her shoes are Monster High original that have been repainted to match the colors of the dress and she wears a beaded bracelet I made for her.
All these are of the same step, I just couldn't decide which ones were the most relevant. No, I don't think a single one is sharp, sorry.)
Repaint practice on a My Scene head (less ugly and more fun to work with than the Bratz head I used before). Still awful but making progress. Practicing blushing with acrylic paint on an almost dry brush (can't use pastels due to no spray sealer). I keep overdoing it...
I really enjoyed doing the smiling Clawdeen, so I thought I'd try out a similar expression on a Draculaura! It suits her personality well, I think, to have a giggly Draculaura!
She's on Etsy:
I've enjoyed the look that the Giani Granite Paint Kit gianigranite.com/collections/giani-countertop-paint gave my old laminate tops, but alas, it takes yearly fixes. Here, I have already sanded the high wear portions that had peeled
this is an older matt repaint from a few years ago. He was a raven Matt that had extra hair rooted in the back to add a bit more length.
A repaint of the Marvel Legends Vengeance figure. I wanted it to look like the prototype (the final figure had purple bones an orange/translucent flames).
So I repainted the whole figure and it's bike and replaced the cheap looking plastic spikes on it's shoulders with real nails.
The external body repaint is underway after bare metaling and etch priming, I am using a brushing enamel as opposed to spray finish because I feel it more appropriate for the look of how I want the bus to be.
