This is a repaint of the Cobra Blackstar figure, which was originally yellow and neon green.

Aside from not liking the yellow, I wanted something to match my repaints of the 1994 Vipers, which I matched to the BAAT Star Brigade figure about a year and a half ago and renamed Space Vipers.

Much like the Vipers, I discovered that many of the nice details on this mold were obscured by monochromatic color choices, such as on the legs. I assume that was due to budgetary restrictions in the waning years of ARAH.

Thankfully this only took me one try, whereas the Space Vipers took about five.

Tyneside Heritage Vehicles Leyland Atlantean 176 AVK176V is pictured inside out facility in Felling fresh from repaint and having graphics applied.

We're all pleased to see the old girl back at Felling. Atlantean 176 AVK176V arrived back from repaint today, sporting it's new colours. Soon after it was back, the stickers then started to be applied helping recreate it's post-1986 early deregulation condition in City Busways livery.

We've still a bit to go, with its wheels and wheeltrims ready to be switched as well as a few other external and internal stickers to be applied. Plus some work to the interior to bring it up to standard.

We'd like to thank Micky Langwell and his team for the superb paint job and to Visualize ne ltd who have done a great job in helping us create, print and apply our graphics.

Aldenham Works - 16/9/1979

Home maintenance in my back garden - May 2016

In early 2021 former Stagecoach London showbus RML 2760 received a full repaint into the London Transport livery it carried when new as the last AEC Routemaster to roll off the Park Royal Vehicles production line in March 1968, with the vehicle being painted in the correct London Transport red livery with the fake grey relief band as applied to all RT and RM repaints upon overhaul at Aldenham Works from 1966 onwards along with the replicas of the 1960s 'Catch A Bus!' and 'Go To A Cinema' front adverts which were fitted when RML 2760 entered service. In this view RML 2760 is parked up on display outside the iconic surroundings of the Brooklands Clubhouse in company with a recovery lorry on the left and former Southdown Motor Services convertible-open top Leyland PD3 'Queen Mary' 409 on the right.

I got a blank Nyx from Yian in trade and just found time to paint her. It was so much fun to paint a doll without considerations of how well she will sell or other limitations. Just took a look from my avant garde make up inspiration folder and went for it!

Nyx wears Syb Cross hose, Swallow wings and Rock It shoes together with Inamorata Seraph corset, skirt and wig by PattaArt. Modsdoll heads are same size as Inamorata but more narrow and can wear softer hard cap wigs like the ones made by Patta.

Latest to join the McKindless fleet is a model bought in from a friend and fellow modeller. The Leyland National was fairly popular with McKindless, being used in both green and cream for local services and the British Airways inspired livery for coaches and Glasgow Shuttle vehicles. It is shown here alongside YIB4528 a Plaxton Premiere also wearing the BA inspired livery. The Glasgow Shuttle itself ran from the operators home area in Newmains to Glasgow’s Buchanan Bus Station via Wishaw, Netherton and Motherwell. Other members of the fleet can be caught in some of the pictures, with a Dart SLF returning for the end of duty being caught in some pictures, meanwhile a Metrobus hides inside the depot building next to Metrorider minibus. All three of these models wear the standard McKindless livery of green and pale yellow/cream, for standard stage-carriage service vehicles. Again, these three models were also bought in to form the fleet while I was starting out with spray paints rather than hand painting. These three were bought from a different friend.

Still deciding about her eyes... Although I like her with those probably they will be replaced for a lighter tone.

I bought a couple of these to repaint only to notice they are two left sides on three out of four of them. Argh!

I repainted her again yesterday. It's a little sloppy, but I like it.

Mutsuo did the reroot, I did the repaint

This photo was taken in the spring of 1963 and shows one of my early cars in preparation for a repaint after completing some rust repairs. Always liked the 1954 Mercurys since my Dad brought one home new to buy. After driving a 52 Mercury for 2 years he arrived home one day with a new 1954 Sun Valley demonstrator. I thought at the time sitting in the back seat and looking up through the glass top that it was like a Flash Gordon car right out of the future. Mom didn't like it however as she said it was too hot sitting in the front seat. Thought I would die when she said no to the purchase. Always wanted my own after that and when I found this non Sun Valley at the right price I just had to have it. The big attraction to this Monarch was its stick shift transmission as most of these were Automatics. Took the Monarch name of the top of the grille bar as I wanted a Mercury. Today I would be more pleased that it was the rarer Canadian Monarch.

As a black and white photo it doesn't show that it's original finish when I purchased it was Lakeland Blue with white top. It was equipped with the first generation Y-Block 256 cu in ohv engine, stick-shift transmission, heater, radio, and clock. I added dual exhaust, and a Hurst floorshift which didn't make it faster but sure made it more cool.
