Astronomical spring relates to the position of the earth in relation to the sun, while meteorological spring relates to the warming temperatures from March through May. For meteorologists and climatologists, spring begins March 1.
Kudos to the birders who figure out who these drifters are and then take the trouble to help other birders find them.

"While today’s vagrant might be tomorrow’s model citizen, destined to become a colonizer and perhaps an established resident, as Grinnell (1922) asserted, most vagrants might be viewed as “failed colonization attempts”. Newton (2008: 267–299) summarized quite well the various explanations of the causes of vagrancy put forward over the past century or so. They include: normal dispersal over long distances, population growth or expansion, drift by winds, migration overshoots, deviant directional tendencies (right time but wrong direction), mirror-image migration, and reversed direction migration. While all explanations probably play a role and explain the occurrence of some vagrant individuals, we address the latter three explanations as they likely involve the vast majority of landbirds. The mirror-image misorientation theory, originally developed by DeSante (1973), and described by Diamond (1982), proposed that vagrants are misoriented by confusion of right and left in relating an inherited migration direction to a compass reference direction. Mirror-image misorientation theory accounts for observations made by DeSante (1983a) that in certain situations large-angle misorientations seem more frequent than small or intermediate deviations from the normal migration course (Alerstam, 1990). Misorientation by the wind has long been suggested as a cause of accidentals (Austin, 1971), but Thorup et al. (2012) found differently, as the authors used radio telemetry to track individual migratory flights of several species of songbirds from the Faroe Islands, approximately halfway between Norway and Iceland, far west of their normal migration route. Birds with expected easterly and south-easterly migration direction departed westward out over the Atlantic Ocean, indicating that these birds are actively flying in the “wrong” direction and that their occurrence is not caused by wind drift. However, on Attu Island, in the Aleutian Islands off Alaska, Hameed et al. (2009) found statistical evidence that the occurrence of spring Asian vagrants on this North Pacific island were correlated with storm winds from the west."
Vincent of Beauvais relates that at this time there was a young cleric at Lyons who had a dream in which he beheld a mountain with a beautiful city standing on the top of it. This city attracted him mightily so that he longed to get there. But between him and the mountain was a river, and in the river he saw twelve men washing their garments. With them was another, different from them, in a shining white robe who was helping them in their task. The cleric asked the stranger who they all were, and He replied that He was Jesus Christ and that those were men doing penance with His aid, and as soon as their robes were clean, they would be able to go on to the city which they all desired, that is, to heaven. Some time later the cleric told his dream to the Bishop of Châlons, who advised him on the strength of it to enter Cîteaux. He accordingly made his way to the woods where the monks were dwelling, and finally found the enclosure of the little monastery. The gate was made of wattles, and there was an iron hammer hanging there for a knocker. When the porter responded to his summons, what was the astonishment of the cleric to recognize him as one of the men in his dream. He also recognized all the other members of the community too, and he was not long in becoming one of them.

The story relates that Bishop Aubert (Saint-Aubert) of the city of Avranches, founded a shrine in 708 at Mont-Tombe (former name of Mont Saint-Michel), after three apparitions of the archangel Saint Michael (Saint-Michel in French) . Consecrated in 709, the church has since never ceased to attract visitors and pilgrims from all over the world. The architecture of Mont Saint Michel and its bay make it the most frequented tourist site in Normandy and the second most frequented in France after Paris

Złocieniec is a knot point station built in 1877 and originally named Falkenburg, with the suffix (Pommern) added later. It used to have a steam locomotive depot for three locomotives to serve the two railway lines 210 (Chojnice - Runowo Pomorskie) and 410 (Grotniki Drawskie - Choszczno), which meet here, with the latter originally running from Grzmiąca, 61 kilometers further.

The legend of Saint Sigfrid of Sweden relates how Sigfrid, a missionary from England, chose Växjö as the site to build a cathedral. He was said to also have been buried in the cathedral that he founded. While the legend is largely unreliable as a historical source, it is probable that a wooden church was built on the same site as the current cathedral in the 11th century, during the Christianization of Scandinavia. Coins from the 11th century have been found during excavations within the church, and a preserved Christian runestone from the same century (Rundata number Sm 10), today located next to the choir wall, may be further indication of the early presence of a wooden church on the site. I cannot relate the story behind this little scene, all I can do is to relate the circumstance.
I was enjoying my early morning walk to fetch the morning newspapers when this odd picture leapt into my vision. It was much too early for the site workers to have started their days work though.
It relates to 18th Century. As of the time of transfer to the museum, the house was the oldest in the village and belonged to Oros family. The house has two premises: house and mudroom. It is one of the most ancient types of house planning in Zakarpattia. Walls of the house are constructed with wide oak cut blocks. Its high four-sloping roof is covered with straw.
This house is the oldest Zakarpattia house in our museum. It displays specific features of national building in valley of Tereblia-river and the middle reaches of Tysa River. The house’s area is 35.4 square meters.
Look at the exterior of the hut:

Now Playing Keep You
Such a beautiful song and beautiful voice. This song really touched me.
I can relate to the words, there is someone in Second Life that I have said good bye to and I miss him every day. I will always treasure the love and laughter we shared and I will never forget him.
That being said, we must all move on. Treasure the good times and learn from our mistakes. There is no use hanging onto something that is past tense.
Lyrics
We said goodbye. Tried our hand at magic.
But we couldn't make us disappear.
Not a day goes by I don't wish I had you.
So in a way, I'm glad you're still here.
It's a bitter sweet victory.
Lovin' the ghost in front of me.
Now I can't laugh, can't cry.
And I can't run, can't hide.
What do I gotta do?
What do I gotta do to keep you?
What do I gotta do to keep you from doing this to me?
I wrote a couple of notes.
One in love, one in anger.
They're lying there dying in the dresser drawer.
Lived louder than my voice. Struggled through a stranger.
He loved me until I loved you even more.
It's a bitter sweet victory.
Knowing someone else wanted me.
Now I can't laugh, can't cry.
And I can't run, can't hide.
You get used to the pain, and numb to the sting
Till you can't feel anything.
You tried to explain, but I couldn't hear it.
As if your words were my tears.
Flowing freely, warm and quiet.
From the edges of my eyes and my ears.
Then all that disappears.
Now I can't laugh, can't cry.
And I can't run, can't hide.
Now I can't laugh, can't cry.
And I can't run, can't hide.
What do I gotta do?
What do I gotta do to keep you?
What do I gotta do to keep you from doing this to me?
Okay, John and Jax. Having been tagged by both of you in less than 24 hours, I guess I really need to go ahead and devote the time to this task. My favorite 10 albums of all time. IMPOSSIBLE! It simply cannot be done. To try and cultivate into a mere 10 albums (and let alone rank them) a half a century of musical tastes and preferences is physically impossible. So I cannot even begin to do so.
I can however, relate to you perhaps ten albums that, for a plethera of reasons, have impacted who I am, how I feel about life or world issues or just everyday living, or have seeded themselves firmly into the medley of musical variations I have come to enjoy over the span of 50 years. Some are rock, some are country, some are blues, some are just uniquely different. But the majority of them have had their early roots in the blues, or have been influenced by various blues artists to some degree. So in no particular order, here they are.
SRV, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, The Sky is Crying.
Released about one year after Vaughan's death in 1990, the album features ten tracks originally recorded between 1984 and 1989.
The Sky Is Crying illustrates many of Vaughan's musical influences, including songs in the style of traditional Delta blues, Chicago blues, jump blues, jazz blues, and Jimi Hendrix. The album's tone alternates primarily between uptempo pieces and gritty, slow blues. The album includes a Grammy-winning extended instrumental cover version of Jimi Hendrix's "Little Wing"; "Chitlins con Carne", a jazz instrumental; and, "Life by the Drop", a song written by Vaughan's friend Doyle Bramhall and played on acoustic guitar. This song is not about Vaughan's struggle with drug abuse, as many think, but actually about Vaughan's friendship with Doyle Bramhall from Bramhall's perspective.
ZZ Top, Tres Hombres.
Tres Hombres is the third album by American blues-rock band ZZ Top, released in 1973, and marked the first of many times the band worked with engineer Terry Manning. It proved to be the group's commercial breakthrough, attracting a far larger fanbase. The album hit the top ten while the single "La Grange" hit 41 on the singles chart.
The band's name is often said to be a combination of two popular brands of rolling paper, Zig-Zag and Top. It has also been claimed as a tribute to blues singer Z. Z. Hill. However, Gibbons wrote in his autobiography, Rock + Roll Gearhead, that it actually came from a tribute to and a play on the name of blues guitar master B. B. King. The band had planned to call themselves Z.Z. King, but felt it was too similar. Since B.B. King was at the "top", they settled on ZZ Top.
In January 1973, ZZ Top opened for The Rolling Stones three shows in Hawaii. They also began recording with engineer Terry Manning at Ardent Studios in Memphis. The resultant third album, Tres Hombres (1973), was the first for which the band gained a million-seller and wide acclaim. Hombres featured ZZ's classic hit "La Grange", written about the Chicken Ranch, a famous La Grange, Texas bordello (that was also the subject of the musical The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas). Other album cuts like "Waitin' for the Bus" and its immediate follower "Jesus Just Left Chicago" became fan favorites and rock-radio staples. However, my favorite tune to be spawned on this album was "Hot, Blue and Righteous".
Delbert McClinton, Never Been Rocked Enough.
This album is probably the most currently produced album on my list here, and possibly on my list of the 50 most influential albums for me. It as produced and relased in 1992. Nothing since then, at least to my immediate knowledge, would make the list.
Delbert McClinton (born 4 November 1940, Lubbock, Texas) is a singer-songwriter, guitarist, harmonica player, and pianist. Active as a side-man since at least 1962 and as a band leader since 1972, he has recorded several major-label albums, and charted singles on the Billboard Hot 100, Mainstream Rock Tracks, and Hot Country Songs charts. His highest-peaking single was "Tell Me About It", a 1992 duet with Tanya Tucker which reached #4 on the Country charts. He has also had four albums that made it to #1 on the U.S. Blues chart, and another that reached #2.
His 1992 release of this album featured the hit single "Every Time I Roll the Dice", which made it to #13 on the US Mainstream Rock charts, While the album only made it to #113. He has written for and recorded with a group of musicians that reads like the who's who or the music industry, including John Lennon.
And at the legendary Skyliner Ballroom, where McClinton's band was the only white act to play its Blue Monday nights AND be the backing band for the headliners, he received a first-class tutelage from the masters of blues music like Jimmy Reed, Howlin' Wolf and Sonny Boy Williamson. McClinton cut a number of local and regional singles before hitting the national charts in 1962 playing harmonica on Bruce Channel's now classic “Hey! Baby.” On a subsequent package tour of England, Delbert showed some of his harp licks to the rhythm guitarist for a young band at the bottom of the bill. The lessons he gave John Lennon were later heard on hit singles by The Beatles; when the two met Lennon already knew the instrument's basics, and the experienced McClinton shared some new licks with him.
Pink Floyd, Momentary Lapse of Reason
A Momentary Lapse of Reason is the thirteenth studio album by English progressive rock group Pink Floyd. It was released in the UK and US in September 1987. In 1985 guitarist David Gilmour began to assemble a group of musicians to work on his third solo album. At the end of 1986 he changed his mind, and decided that the new material would instead be included in a new Pink Floyd album. Subsequently Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason and keyboardist Richard Wright (who had left the group in 1979) were brought on board for the project. Although for legal reasons Wright could not be re-admitted to the band, he and Mason helped Gilmour craft what would become the first Pink Floyd album since the departure of lyricist and bass guitarist Roger Waters in December 1985.
The album was recorded primarily on Gilmour's converted houseboat, Astoria. Its production was marked by an ongoing legal dispute between Waters and the band as to who owned the rights to Pink Floyd's name, which was not resolved until several months after the album was released. Unlike most of Pink Floyd's studio albums, A Momentary Lapse of Reason has no central theme, and is instead a collection of rock songs written mostly by Gilmour and musician Anthony Moore. Although the album received mixed reviews and was derided by Waters, with the help of an enormously successful world tour it easily out-sold their previous album The Final Cut. A Momentary Lapse of Reason is certified multi-platinum in the US.
Although the amazing talents of Water's were not present on this album, it still spawned two of my all time favorite songs, "Dogs of War", and "On the Turning Away".
Iron Maiden, Live After Death.
Live After Death is a live album by the British heavy metal band Iron Maiden, released on October 14, 1985 on EMI in Europe and its sister label Capitol Records in the US (it was re-released by Sanctuary/Columbia Records in the US in 2002). It was recorded during the band's World Slavery Tour. The album was instrumental in establishing the band as an extraordinary live band and is regarded as one of the best live albums ever recorded.
For anyone with a love of metal, Iron Maiden is a must hear band. The cover art was done by Derek Riggs, and pictures the band's mascot, Eddie rising from a grave. On that grave is a tombstone with a quote from the fantasy and horror fiction author H. P. Lovecraft's The Nameless City:
"That is not dead which can eternal lie
Yet with strange aeons even death may die."
The proper quote is actually "And with strange..." instead of "Yet with strange...". A similar version of this phrase is used in Metallica's song "The Thing That Should Not Be" from the Master of Puppets album.
Queensryche, Operation Mindcrime.
Operation: Mindcrime is a concept album by American progressive metal band Queensrÿche. Released on May 3, 1988, it is the band's third full-length album. A rock opera, its story follows a man who becomes disillusioned with the society of the time and reluctantly becomes involved with a revolutionary group as an assassin of political leaders. The album is highly regarded within the heavy metal community, often labelled as one of the genre's finest works. It ranked at number 10 at metal-rules.com's best heavy metal albums ever. In January 1989, it ranked #34 on Kerrang! magazine's "100 Greatest Heavy Metal Albums Of All Time."
The album begins with the protagonist, Nikki, in a hospital. He lies in a near catatonic state, unable to remember anything but snippets from his past. Suddenly, Nikki's memories come flooding back in a torrent. He remembers how, as a heroin addict and would-be political radical frustrated with contemporary society, he was manipulated into joining a supposed secret organization dedicated to revolution. At the head of this organization is a political and religious demagogue known only as Dr. X, who by manipulating Nikki through a combination of his heroin addiction and brainwashing techniques, uses Nikki as an assassin. Whenever Dr. X uses the word "mindcrime" Nikki becomes his docile puppet, a state which Dr. X uses to command Nikki to undertake any murder that the Doctor wishes. Through one of Dr. X's probable associates, a corrupt priest named Father William, Nikki is offered the services of a prostitute-turned-nun named Sister Mary. Through his friendship and growing affection toward Sister Mary, Nikki begins to question the nature of what he is doing. Dr. X notices this and, seeing a potential threat in Mary, orders Nikki to kill both her and the priest. Nikki goes to Mary's church and kills the priest, but after confronting Mary fails to comply with the command to murder her. He and Mary decided to leave the organization together, and Nikki goes to Dr. X to tell him that they are out. Dr. X, however, reminds Nikki that he is an addict, and that he is the one who can provide him with his daily fix. Nikki leaves, conflicted and returns to Mary, only to find her dead, hanging from her own rosary. He cannot cope with the loss, as well as the possibility that he himself may have killed her and not known it, and begins to succumb to insanity. The police, arriving on the scene, arrest him for Mary's murder and the murders he committed for Dr. X. He is put into a hospital, where he begins to remember what has happened.
Rush, Hemispheres.
Hemispheres is the sixth studio album by the Canadian rock band Rush, released in 1978. The album was recorded at Rockfield Studios in Wales and mixed at Trident Studios in London. This album continues Rush's trend of using the fantasy and science fiction lyrics written by Neil Peart. Similar to their 1976 release, 2112, Hemispheres contains a single, epic song broken into chapters as the first half of the album ("Cygnus X-1, Book II: Hemispheres") while the second half contains two more conventionally-executed tracks ("Circumstances", "The Trees"), then is rounded out by the nine-and-a-half-minute instrumental, "La Villa Strangiato".
The album contains examples of Rush's adherence to progressive rock standards including the use of epic, multi-movement song structures, complex rhythms and time signatures, and flexible guitar solos, like those found in "La Villa Strangiato".
Hemispheres was Rush's fourth consecutive Gold album upon release in 1978 and would subsequently go Platinum in the US. For a short period of time, the album was released on Canadian red vinyl in a gatefold sleeve with poster (catalogue number SANR-1-1015), and as a limited edition picture disc (catalogue number SRP-1300),both have which become much sought after collectors items.
Hang in there, folks....only 3 to go. I apologize, but I try not to halfway do anything...LOL!
Metallica, Ride the Lightning.
Ride the Lightning is the second studio album by the American heavy metal band Metallica. It was released on July 27, 1984 through Megaforce Records and was re-released on November 19, 1984 by Elektra Records. Ride the Lightning was certified gold by the RIAA on November 5, 1987 and was most recently certified 5x platinum on June 9, 2003.
Ride the Lightning retains the speed of Kill 'Em All on songs like "Trapped Under Ice" and "Fight Fire with Fire", but also contains the first of Metallica's longer, more intricate tracks, such as "Fade to Black" and the nearly 9-minute closing instrumental "The Call of Ktulu". "Ride the Lightning" is the last Metallica album to credit former member, Dave Mustaine. Ride the Lightning was listed at #3 on a list compiled by metal-rules.com of the Top 100 Metal Albums of All Time.
"Ride the Lightning" is Metallica's first song which directly pointed on the misery of the criminal justice system. The song is one of two on the album that credits former member Dave Mustaine. The lyrics of the song "Ride the Lightning" are written from the perspective of someone who is forthcoming death-by-electrocution, although he didn't commit murder.
"For Whom the Bell Tolls" was composed by Cliff Burton, James Hetfield, and Lars Ulrich. The songs inspiration is Ernest Hemingway's novel For Whom the Bell Tolls about the dishonor of modern warfare and Robert Jordan's eminent doom during the bloody Spanish Civil War, with specific allusions to the scene in which five soldiers are obliterated during an air-strike, whilst taking a position on a hill.
The lyrics of Fade to Black suggest a man contemplating, then eventually committing suicide. Metallica revealed that they have received letters from fans who were dissuaded from committing suicide by the song.
"Creeping Death" describes the Plague of the Firstborn (Exodus 12:29). The lyrics deal with the 10 plagues on Egypt, and throughout the song, four of the ten plagues are mentioned as well as the Passover.
"The Call of Ktulu" was Metallica's second instrumental song, following the first instrumental "(Anesthesia) Pulling Teeth" from Kill 'Em All. The song working title was originally "When Hell Freezes Over".
The idea of the song "The Call of Ktulu" is based upon H.P. Lovecraft's book The Shadow Over Innsmouth which was first introduced to the rest of the band by Cliff Burton. The song's name was taken from one of H.P. Lovecraft's main stories featuring Cthulhu, The Call of Cthulhu, which was written in 1928 for the magazine Weird Tales. The name "Ktulu" is originally written "Cthulhu" by H.P. Lovecraft.
And all this time you thought they were just a bunch of fucking stoners.....hehehe.
Led Zeppelin, IV.
The fourth album by the English rock band Led Zeppelin was released on 8 November 1971. No title is printed on the album, so it is generally referred to as Led Zeppelin IV, following the naming standard used by the band's first three studio albums. Also the album has alternatively been referred to as , Four Symbols, The Fourth Album (those two titles each having been used in the Atlantic Records catalogue), Untitled, Runes, Sticks, ZoSo and The Hermit. Zoso is also the moniker for the band's guitarist, Jimmy Page.
Upon its release, Led Zeppelin IV was a commercial and critical success. The album is one of the best-selling albums in history at 37 million units. It has shipped over 23 million units in the United States alone, putting it third on the all-time list in the United States and twelfth world-wide. In 2003, the album was ranked 66th on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.
"Black Dog" got its name from a stray black dog that was roaming about the concourse of Headley Grange during recording sessions for the song.
"The Battle of Evermore" and "Misty Mountain Hop" are references to J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings novels.
"Going to California" is a reference to John Steinbeck's The Grapes of Wrath.
The idea for each member of the band to choose a personal emblem for the cover was Page's. In an interview he gave in 1977, he recalled:
After all this crap that we'd had with the critics, I put it to everybody else that it'd be a good idea to put out something totally anonymous. At first I wanted just one symbol on it, but then it was decided that since it was our fourth album and there were four of us, we could each choose our own symbol. I designed mine and everyone else had their own reasons for using the symbols that they used.
Page stated that he designed his own symbol himself and has never publicly disclosed any reasoning behind it. However, it has been argued that his symbol appeared as early as 1557 to represent Saturn. The symbol is sometimes referred to as "ZoSo", though Page has explained that it was not in fact intended to be a word at all.
Bassist John Paul Jones' symbol, which he chose from Rudolf Koch's Book of Signs, is a single circle intersecting 3 vesica pisces (a triquetra). It is intended to symbolise a person who possesses both confidence and competence.
Drummer John Bonham's symbol, the three interlocking rings, was picked by the drummer from the same book. It represents the triad of mother, father and child, but also happens to be the logo for Ballantine beer.
Singer Robert Plant's symbol was his own design, being based on the sign of the supposed Mu civilisation.
There is also a fifth, smaller symbol chosen by guest vocalist Sandy Denny representing her contribution to the track "The Battle of Evermore"; it appears in the credits list on the inner sleeve of the LP, serving as an asterisk and is shaped like three triangles touching at their points.
And finally we make it home with....
Allman Brothers, Live at Fillmore East.
At Fillmore East is a double live album by The Allman Brothers Band. The band's breakthrough success, At Fillmore East was released in July 1971. It ranks Number 49 among Rolling Stone magazine’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time and remains among the top-selling albums in the band’s catalogue. It is often cited as being one of the most well-known live recordings in history.
Recorded at the Fillmore East concert hall, the storied rock venue in New York City, on Friday and Saturday March 12, 1971–March 13, 1971, it showcased the band's mixture of blues, Southern rock and jazz. The cover of Blind Willie McTell's "Statesboro Blues" which opens the set showcases Duane Allman's slide guitar work in open E Tuning. "Whipping Post" became the standard for a long, epic jam that never lost interest (opening in 11/8 time, unusual territory for a rock band), while the ethereal-to-furious "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed", with its harmonized melody, Latin feel and burning drive invited comparisons with John Coltrane (especially Duane's solo-ending pull-offs, a direct nod to the jazz saxophonist).
The album was produced by Tom Dowd, who condensed the running time of various songs, occasionally even merging multiple performances onto one track. At Fillmore East peaked at #13 on Billboard's Pop Albums chart.
Two other songs recorded during the same set of shows, "Trouble No More", and the memorable "Mountain Jam", were later released on Eat a Peach, the latter spanning two sides of the double album.
Those songs were later included in their entirety, along with uncut versions of some, re-edited versions of others, and some previously omitted tracks, on a new release of the Fillmore material entitled The Fillmore Concerts (1992). "Stormy Monday" gained back a harmonica solo; "Don't Keep Me Wonderin'" and "Drunken Hearted Boy" were included as well.
In 1998 a 5.1 DTS mix of the original version was released with Duane Allman in the left rear channel, Dickey Betts in the right rear channel, Jai Johanny Johanson in the front left channel, Butch Trucks in the right front channel and Gregg Allman and Berry Oakley both spread out over the front and center channels.
George Kimball of Rolling Stone magazine hailed them as "the best damn rock and roll band this country has produced in the past five years." A few months later, group leader Duane Allman was killed in a motorcycle accident. The group survived that and the death of bassist Oakley in another motorcycle accident a year later; with replacement members Chuck Leavell and Lamar Williams, the Allman Brothers Band achieved its peak commercial success in 1973 with the album Brothers and Sisters and the hit single "Ramblin' Man". Internal turmoil overtook the band soon after; the group dissolved in 1976, reformed briefly at the end of the decade with additional personnel changes, and dissolved again in 1982.
In 1989, the group reformed with some new members and has been recording and touring since. A series of personnel changes in the late 1990s was capped by the departure of Betts. The group found stability during the 2000s with Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks, the nephew of their drummer, serving as its guitarists, and became renowned for their month-long string of shows in New York City each spring. The band has been awarded eleven gold and five platinum albums between 1971 and 2005 and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995. Rolling Stone ranked them 52nd on their list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time in 2004.
Recently, I have been listening non-stop to Miley Cyrus’s The Climb. Maybe because I’ve been feeling shitty for the past week or so, I can relate to the song very well. But it’s not like I’m going through something challenging or whatnot, I just feel lousy. Why so? Midlife crisis? Btw, I just turned 27 today …

"The Climb by Miley Cyrus"
I can almost see it
That dream I’m dreaming but
There’s a voice inside my head sayin,
You’ll never reach it,
Every step I’m taking,
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking but I
Got to keep trying
Got to keep my head held high
There’s always gonna be another mountain
I’m always gonna want to make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle,
Sometimes you gonna have to lose,
Ain’t about how fast I get there,
Ain’t about what’s waiting on the other side
It’s the climb
The struggles I’m facing,
The chances I’m taking
Sometimes they knock me down but
No I’m not breaking
I may not know it
But these are the moments that
I’m gonna remember most yeah
Just got to keep going
And I,
I got to be strong
Just keep pushing on,
Cause there’s always gonna be another mountain
I’m always gonna want to make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle,
Sometimes you gonna have to lose,
Ain’t about how fast I get there,
Ain’t about what’s waiting on the other side
It’s the climb
Keep on moving
Keep climbing
Keep the faith baby…
It’s all about
It’s all about
The climb
Keep the faith
Keep your faith

Sometimes, Scott and I don't make the best choices, like heading out to Farhaven Beach to get some shots of Lake Beach without truly gearing up.
As I mentioned a while ago, my good winter coat died and I've yet to find a replacement, and today I learned that I need to pick up the pace on that search.
That wind just cuts through you on days like this, especially being so close to the water. Scott stayed out there a bit longer than I did, I basically got my shot, tried a few other things and ran off, while he stayed and waited for the sun to dip just a bit lower than it was.
Photographers, we're crazy people.
Hope everyone has had a good day.

The late and still great Daniel Johnston didn't always know how to go about relating to people face to face but he did know how to ask the most important question.
We're in a really high panicked time where the coronavirus and information about the coronavirus is evolving every hour or faster. With schools closing and some restaurants and businesses, panic buying, and people told that they should be working from home if at all possible, these are dire times.
Definitely the scariest thing about this pandemic is that it seems now there are a high number of people who are asymptomatic in their 20s and 30s especially who are spreading this virus for others who are older and/or immunosuppressed. This is very different from what we were told initially, which was that if we weren't symptomatic, we were just find to carry on about our normal lives. So, if you can, please self quarantine even if you don't have symptoms.

In a time of self quarantine, we must ask ourselves how we will evolve as human creatures who happen to be social beings. I've always thought of Flickr as a space where I was lucky enough to see photos from around the world in a glance each day. I think we owe it to each other as artists and as humans to share with each other how we are spending this time of self quarantine and to comfort each other. I want to hear from you. I want to comfort you. I want to laugh with you. I want to cry with you.
I want to make sure you're ok. Hi, how are you?

Said starway isn't what I was standing on while taking the picture, it rather relates to the current state of the locomotive presented on the picture. The ET42-025 shown here running alone through Kraków Mydlniki in the direction of Zabierzów is no more in service (presumably hasn't been for a couple of months now), and the railway station has undergone a massive modernisation, leading to a classically standardised look without the footbridge or any romanticism ;), as you can see by yourself over here.
In general the whole ET42 class of engines is coming to an inevitable end, as more and more Dragon locomotives are delivered from Newag to PKP Cargo. At the time of writing this description (12.01.2024) there are only 17 locomotives in service, from what used to be a series of 50 engines produced between 1978-1982 in НЭВЗ (Новочеркасск, Russia). They were innitially mostly deployed on the railway line connecting Silesia with the northern harbours in Gdynia and Gdańsk, but in recent years also spread to majority of the country, even becoming relatively common in Warsaw since around 2018, which was unthinkable beforehand.
From what I heard, the ET42 locomotives were generally a pretty successful series, thanks to being based on ВЛ10 engines, which had already been after years of service in the harshest conditions of the Soviet Union. Extremely reliable, easy to repair, but not without their downsides, the worst of which is that the locomotives could get extremely hot in summer, forcing drivers to provide different ways of cooling by themselves.
A little curiosity on all of the engines is their paint scheme, which differed from the standardised PKP livery. All ET42 locos had a big V-shape at the very front, presumably as a tribute to the ВЛ10 forefathers. The colour of the stripe making up the V differed across the years, together with the general paint schemes of PKP, but never really disappeared until the corporate scheme of PKP Cargo was introduced. Initially yellow on minty green background, then it turned to orange with the introduction of the 'yellow fronts' in 1989 and finally settled on red after the grassy-green livery was made the new standard. Despite generally liking the yellow fronts, I find that the red stripe on grassy green fits these Soviet monsters best.
The nicknames, which the railfans came up with included Czapajew and Rusek, generally very generic names which could theoretically be attributed to any locomotive of Soviet origin, just as Gagarin become a common way to call ST44.

There are two stories relating to this charming ancient packhorse bridge which dates back to 1561 crossing the River Hodder at Hurst Green.
The first relates to Oliver Cromwell's 8,000 strong parliamentary army who crossed the bridge during his march from Skipton to intercept the Royalists at the Battle of Preston in 1648 where they fought the King's men and that is were it earned it's name.
The second is that J R R Tolkien visited this area in the 1940's when his eldest son John was studying for the priesthood at Stonyhurst College so many places in "The Lord of The Rings" are based on this scenic part of the world ..... Brandywine Bridge was based on Cromwell's Bridge and it's very easy to imagine the middle earth dwarves crossing this way.

In 1943 Dutch artist M. C. Escher created a reptile lithograph that depicts a desk on which there is a drawing of a pattern of reptiles. The reptiles come to life and crawl around the desk, over the objects on it and eventually re-enter the drawing.
Escher would love the colors and patterns here! The Common Agama, Red-headed Rock Agama, or Rainbow Agama (Agama agama) is a species of lizard from the Agamidae family, found in most of Subsaharan Africa.
It can often be seen in the heat of the day. In the breeding season, the males develop dramatically colorful markings, the head and neck and tail turning bright orange, and the body dark blue. Outside of the breeding season, the male is a plain brown. The females and juveniles are always more cryptically marked. This lizard can be found climbing rocks and walls. Its primary source of food is insects.
The males are territorial, claiming small to medium patches of land which they defend against other mature males. Juveniles and females reside within the territories unchallenged. The mature males become agitated when confronting each other; nodding vigorously, arching, skipping sideways, and clashing tails. The loser is chased out of the territory.

St Stephen's Hall stands on the site of the royal Chapel of St Stephen's, where the House of Commons sat until the Chapel was destroyed by the fire of 1834.
The hall closely matches the dimensions of the old Chapel, being 29 metres (95 feet) long and 9 metres (30 feet) wide. Brass studs in the floor mark the former position of the Speaker's Chair and the Table of the House, and two brass tablets in the wall at the opposite end mark the position of the screen which separated the lobby from the Chamber.
St Stephen's Hall was in fact used by the House of Commons on the first day of each session from 1945 to 1950, during the rebuilding of the bombed Commons Chamber. In 1960, the whole Hall was renovated and the war damage repaired.
Statues of famous parliamentarians face one another on either side of the Hall; these include John Hampden, Robert Walpole, William Pitt and Charles James Fox. On either side of the doorways are statues of early Kings and Queens of England.
At the east and west ends of the Hall are two large mosaic panels by R. Anning Bell relating to the founding of the earliest Chapel by King Stephen and its rebuilding by Edward III. The mosaic at the west end, unveiled in 1926, portrays Edward III approving the plans for the Chapel and handing them back to his master mason, Michael of Canterbury, with representatives of medieval craftsmen standing beside him. The panel at the east end depicts St Stephen holding a stone, in allusion to his martyrdom, with King Stephen and Edward the Confessor at his sides, and was unveiled a year earlier.
The paintings on the walls depict various important events in British history, while the ten stained-glass windows, five on either side, depict the arms of various parliamentary cities and boroughs; these were damaged in air raids during the Second Word War and since restored.

History:
There are many legends surrounding the Ekenäs Castle and every castle worth its salt has obviously Ekenäs several resident ghosts.
One of those eerie legends relating Earl Mauritz Vellingk (1651-1727) who was a general, diplomat, adviser to the Swedish King and Governor General of Bremen-Verden. When Frederick I, King of Sweden ended Vellink in conflict with him as the Earl urged the Holstein throne while the king took a stand for the hannoverska.
King Frederick I chose to show the privy Parliamentary committee documents relating to secret loans Vellink taken in Prussia for the Swedish state's behalf. Vellink arrested and sentenced to lose lives, honor and property. The punishment was changed, however, before it could be implemented and mitigated to imprisonment of Linköping Castle, loss of Vellinks councilor position and his shield of Nobility.
Vellink were never to sit in prison in Linköping, on his way to, he died in Mjölby inn.
It is not, however, Earl himself haunting in Ekenäs, but a boy as he let incarcerate in a vaulted cellar. It is said that when problems began to pile up for the count, he was looking up a bunch of important documents, placed them in the heaviest coffin he could find and took the help of a poor shepherd boy to dump the casket in the lake Teden just outside the castle.
In order not to let the shepherd boy, whose name was Nils, reveal what happened sounded Vellink turn him into a cellar. From this point on the various stories a bit apart. Some argue that Vellink from the start sounded mura the door to the vault for the boy would die there. Others say instead that the door was not walled up, but the idea was that the boy would eventually be released, but that he had forgotten where (or Vellink arrested and therefore could not return for placing Nils). Eventually Nils died of hunger and cold, and when the corpse eventually found bricked it up to hide what happened. Regardless, Nils became a ghost who still said to haunt Ekenäs.
According to legend, one should certainly not try to enter "Nisse's den" because then something bad happen with both Ekenäs Castle and its owner. There are also stories of people who tried not gone far before they hit by acute illness or horrific accidents.
His Golden Touch
One day, as Ovid relates in Metamorphoses XI, Dionysus found that his old schoolmaster and foster father, the satyr Silenus, was missing. The old satyr had been drinking wine and wandered away drunk, to be found by some Phrygian peasants who carried him to their king, Midas (alternatively, Silenus passed out in Midas' rose garden). Midas recognized him and treated him hospitably, entertaining him for ten days and nights with politeness, while Silenus delighted Midas and his friends with stories and songs. On the eleventh day, he brought Silenus back to Dionysus in Lydia. Dionysus offered Midas his choice of whatever reward he wished for. Midas asked that whatever he might touch should be changed into gold.
Midas rejoiced in his new power, which he hastened to put to the test. He touched an oak twig and a stone; both turned to gold. Overjoyed, as soon as he got home, he touched every rose in the rose garden, and all became gold. He ordered the servants to set a feast on the table. Upon discovering how even the food and drink turned into gold in his hands, he regretted his wish and cursed it. Claudian states in his In Rufinem: "So Midas, king of Lydia, swelled at first with pride when he found he could transform everything he touched to gold; but when he beheld his food grow rigid and his drink harden into golden ice then he understood that this gift was a bane and in his loathing for gold, cursed his prayer."
Tales of history relate that Dinajpur derived its name from Raja Dinaj or Dinaraj, founder of the Dinajpur Rajbari. But others say that after usurping the Ilyas Shahi rule, the famous Raja Ganesh of the early 15th century was the real founder of this house for a brief period. At the end of the 17th century Srimanta Dutta Chaudhury became the zamindar of Dinajpur and after him, his sister's son Sukhdeva Ghosh inherited the property as Srimanta's son had a premature death. Sukhdeva's son Prannath Ray became famous and powerful and began the construction of the famous Kantanagar Nava-Ratna Temple, now known as the Kantajir Mandir, one of the most precious heritage structures.
It is difficult to conceive what the main palace block looked like when it was young and bold. Wild leaves and veins have wrapped the building like octopus tendrils while the skeleton and naked brick structures give a horrid look as the ageing plaster is almost worn out of the walls. In different parts of the building, structural girders are exposed while there is no roof above. Still from his historical study and the remaining ruins, Dr Nazimuddin Ahmed gave a vivid description of the structures in one of his publications published in 1986.
"The imposing façade of the two-storey palace, facing east has a broad frontage of about 150 feet. The central part carrying a 10 feet wide verandah above is projected prominently. The front projection has a series of elegant Ionic columns in pairs with round shafts on the upper floor.
"The parapet is plain except for a curved plaque-wall in the centre, bearing in relief, two elephants standing face to face and holding a crown. Above and below it are some indistinct English letters. On either side of the balcony a broad spiral masonry staircase leads up to the upper storey. The roof of the 15 feet wide balcony collapsed.
"Immediately behind the balcony a large hall (50"X20") originally flagged with white marble stone and flanked by two 10" wide verandahs on the east and west is roofed over with massive iron girders. The lofty 25 feet high roof is in a highly disintegrating condition. On its north there is another smaller (30"X 20") hall and on the south a broad corridor leads to the inner quadrangle of residential quarters."
If the bricks could paint or write the tales of the Rajbari and its inhabitants, what a book could have been written! But with the silent walls, the palace has now grown old and inexpressive. It has faced not only the cruelty of time but also the ravages of nature like the 1897 earthquake that had left it badly damaged. Although the palace was largely rebuilt by Maharaja Sir Girijanath Ray Bahadur, time has not spared it from its claws. It is up to us now whether we would at least let the ruins remain and let our future generations see them and let their imagination flow back to the past and touch our heritage.

Relate within the same letter of life's law
As easy as a first breath of cherishment galore
Howsoever the day may have begun,
It's course in your hands may still be spun
That door remains open till the day is done
To welcome with opportune resolve life's home run
Call it emotional topiary, your garden, your space
No overnight fantasticism can over-emphasise apace
The quality of being the mirror before sightseeing seen,
Sets the beautified scene so miraculously serene
Renewable, inexhaustible, when finally found it's never lost
That is the feeling of being warmed at the touch of a Sun thawing frost
Two worlds away unite within the same second
As much as the first owes the last over which it is reckoned
Birthdays split the differences as we all move through time at the same pace
Every range of clock face imaginable and none a disgrace
It tells of antiquity within the presence of valour
And speaks a charmed silence which awaits and awakens within flowing candour.

Surat An-Nur (Arabic: سورة النور) (The Light) is the 24th sura of the Qur'an with 64 ayat.
Background
The general agreement of scholars is that is sura was revealed shortly before or after the Battle of the Trench in 5 AH
Content
This sura opens with a short introduction to the revelation of the Quran, as many other sura do - that is a reminder and a clear sign for people to look to.
[Qur'an 24:2]
The sura thus begins with various explanations and decrees on or relating to corrupt sexual acts, family law, and specifications on the giving of testimony. Foremost amongst these rulings is God's punishment for adultery. This section ends with the pronouncement that good men and women should be paired together, as should corrupt men and corrupt women. This discussion turns into reflections on privacy and modesty, namely of hosts and women. Contained herein are several regulations and explanations of modesty, most directly lines traditionally used to argue for the wearing of hijab. After these prohibitions are cast for women, the text turns towards men, asking them not to oppress slavegirls into prostitution, and to marry those women who need husbands, despite their poverty.
[Qur'an 24:35]: Ayat an-Nur, "The Light Verse"
Main article: An-Nur, 34
After a second statement of the Quran's status as a clear sign from above, the famed Ayat an-Nur appears. This is often referred to as "the Light Verse", or "the Parable of Light", a mystical group of lines that has been the subject of much scholarship and reflection.
"God is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The parable of His light is as if there were a niche and within it a lamp: The lamp enclosed in glass: The glass as it were a brilliant star: Lit from a blessed tree, an olive, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil is well-nigh luminous, though fire scarce touched it: Light upon Light! God doth guide whom He will to His light: God doth set forth parables for men: and God doth know all things."
[Qur'an 24:36]
The Qur'an here briefly returns to a slightly more literal form of speech as it reassures believers that their remembrance will be rewarded, as the forgetfulness of the sinners will be punished. In keeping with the Light Verse, the unbelievers too are explained in metaphor, returning to the deeply symbolic tone above:
"And as for the unbelievers, their works are as a mirage in a spacious plain,
in which a thirsty man thinks there to be water,
until when he comes to it, he finds it is nothing;
there indeed he finds God and He pays him his account in full;
and God is swift in the reckoning;
or they are as shadows upon a sea obscured,
covered by a billow above which is a billow above which are clouds;
shadows piled one upon the other;
when he puts forth his hand, wellnigh he cannot see it.
And whoever God assigns no light, no light has he." (Lines 39-40)
The Qur'an explains that the Earth itself is evidence of God's reality and power. He controls the clouds, the winds, the hail, and the mountains. It was God who chose which animals had four feet, which had two, and which had none.
[Qur'an 24:45]
The Qur'an confirms that God has sent down signs (ayat) to make His reality clear, and that understanding that reality is as a "straight path", that if one is truly following, one can never be led astray. God keeps His word, and will continue to reward those who believe and keep to their religion, as He as rewarded others in the past for doing the same.
The Book urges the believer not to fret, and not to accuse people of sin merely for the conditions of their birth or social status. For example, in many tribal cultures a blind person or their parents were believed to be wicked, hence the gods or the spirits have blinded them. The Qur'an urges one not to think in this manner, and instead remember that all things are signs from God, and thus all believers should be of good nature to others, and wish them blessings from God. If that is done, the signs become clear and "happily you will understand".
As the believer must greet others well, so must they ask for leave from them before departing. However, the sura ends, God knows the hidden reasons people do as they do, "God knows those of you who slip away surreptitiously", for when all returns to Him, they will testify against themselves to Him.

I am reposting this message and creation from my December 2019 post
Although this was written in 2019 I knew something big was going to take place on earth in the months ahead.
It is as relevant today as it was back in 2019 because it relates to today in 2021
I underestimated the severity of this message. In saying this I was extremely unsettled for many months and prayed as I knew something was going to happen but I did not know exactly what.
I had endured many months of suffering knowing. Through this process things became crystal clear to me and with that an understanding of the higher picture and ultimately a sense of surrendering to 'what is' and a sense of Peace and Calm came with this, along with so much gratitude for being guided and shown. A blessing and a curse
To add to this, many souls have sacrificed themselves - knowingly and unknowingly to wake up humanity.
We can never know the soul agreement that each of us has made when we birthed into this world.
I am eternally grateful to the many souls who have endured hell on earth, lost their lives to awaken the masses to the reality of this world.
There are many people at this time on earth who are struggling with all that is happening in our world.
I was guided with this message and design back in 2019 - it started many months before it was completed by December of that year.
I hope that this message will bring some understanding and comfort to anyone who is struggling right now.
Despite her name Black Winged Goddess, she does bring a message of Hope and Unity to humanity.
We are living in times of great destruction of the world as we know it, earth changes, fires, floods, earthquakes.
Here alone in Australia we sit in horror at the extent of the fires rampage across the country. Unprecedented fires and weather in the history of our existence (well what is on record)
Whilst horrific - the earth we live on has always been full of cyclic changes.
Ancient cities have been discovered under the sea, we are naive to think that the world as we know it will remain the same.
What continents exist now may no longer exist. What coastline exists now is slowly being swallowed up by the ocean.
Volcanic eruptions are changing the face of the planet as are earthquakes - the list is long.
We cannot stop the force of Mother Nature. We live on a planet that has always endured such destruction.
We have pole shifts taking place - all kinds of catastrophic events happening across the Globe. We are but a spit in the ocean to the wide Galaxies that we know of. Yet we think we are precious in some way.
I cannot help but wonder why I was so drawn to create this "Black Winged Goddess" let alone give her the name of Black Winged Goddess. But I was drawn, my soul was pushing me for weeks with a "slight vision" of what I needed to create. It now makes total sense to me why I was so drawn to create The Black Winged Goddess, given the state of our world and humanity.
My soul as always when I listen guides me with powerful messages and reminds me to just 'be' to accept 'what is'.
We may not like the current state of our world, but it is what it is and all we can do is stay strong within ourselves and hold the power of 'love' in our hearts despite seeing so much being played out on the planet.
Kali (Hindu) - was known as a deity of the Fearsome Demon destroying Goddess who represents death and rebirth - so her name means "Black One".
We can never truly comprehend or understand the power of mother nature - we have abused her for centuries, taken her for granted and she is a living breathing consciousness so powerful that we dare not go up against here.
In recent years we have seen the influence of the feminine energy on earth which for eons has been dominated by the male energy.
So it makes complete sense to me that we are witness to so much destruction on the planet.
We are witness to the destruction of our societies as we know it, breakdown of families, law, politics.
So much of humanity is at war with the 'system', the injustices, and the lack of balance within our society. The homeless, the abused, the forgotten souls, the mental health issues that seem to have become rampant, the rise of Corporate wealth while humanity is trapped in slavery. We have learnt nothing as a humanity over the past how many hundred years?
In order for rebirth, for new growth, a culling needs to take place - hence the energy of the Black Winged Goddess she is both the Destroyer and the Giver of New Life.
We have elected to be here at this time on the planet - despite the suffering we witness or endure - I know at a higher level it is absolutely necessary for real change to take place.
Our world is a very different place to the one we have known - and whilst we have believed we have had a safe and reasonable planet in which to live, the reality is much Evil has existed and people have been brainwashed to the point of being zombies. There has been so much suppression imposed upon humanity even to the extreme of vaccinations and fluoride to our water supply. All of these chemicals act as suppressants to our brain! It has been a deliberate agenda of the existing power on earth. Their agenda has always been to rule, control and suppress the populous.
Humanity is awakening and with this will be uproar, dis - ease, a culling if you like. It is time for humanity to step out of fear and into their true power which is within each and every one of us.
New growth, new beginnings but not before the dismantling of the old - it has to be this way.
These times we are living through were written in history.
So I have created "The Black Winged Goddess" she is available in different styles, inside a Dome with beautiful etched glass or stand alone. She will rotate or can be static.
She is available on MP in the Stand Alone version (rotating) or can be seen in world at my store.
****This POST IS NOT to promote my MP. I will not put my MP link here for this reason. If anyone does not have the money and would like a version of her please send me a notecard in world with your full name and I will happily send one to you. This is NOT about promoting my MP it is about assisting humanity at this time***.
I hope you enjoy and embrace 'The "Black Winged Goddess' and rather be in fear of her - understand she brings 'New Life" but first the old has to die for the new to be born.
How appropriate for a New Year of 2020 fast approaching.
Interestingly and unconsciously I created 4 of these Black Winged Goddesses.
The year 2020 equates to the number 4 in Numerology.
The #4 represents a Universal energy. (see below for a deeper understanding of the #4)
The # 2 - Is the most feminine and often underestimated when it comes to power and strength. She is always gentle, tactful, diplomatic, forgiving and understanding. She likes to keep peace and likes to avoid confrontation. # 2 is the survivor and extremely resilient force. Her shape looks as though she is bent back on a knee with head bowed in humility and service. However when enough pressure is applied to the # 2 energy. Some would perceive her as weak and powerless due to this servitude shape. However never underestimate the power behind #2 because she represents the power (double) #1 who is the all powerful warrior who will shake and destroy no matter what. So #2 brings the balance but never underestimate the power of 2 Energy.
The #4 Energy in more detail
The 4 is without a doubt masculine, reflecting strength and stability. His chief characteristics are dependability, productivity, punctuality and obedience. He is trustworthy, patient, conventional and a traditionalist.
Tend to be rule followers. 4 is the area of sciences, upholding the law (such as Government and the military). The #4 represents Disciplined, systematic, Dependable, Strong. Loyal
Four is the basis of all solid objects. Four points are used in constructing the simplest solid and thus four is the number symbolizing the way of construction. In many religions, four is seen as the number for earth, and representing the four elements, Air Earth, Water and Fire.
At its extreme 4's can tend to overreact to violence.
So 2020 seems to have more challenges ahead and I suspect we will be seeing more uprising across the planet (#2 energy) with totalitarianism (#4 energy) being played out like never before. Perhaps more of what the world has witnessed in Hong Kong this year.
It is as if the two energies Masculine & Feminine are battling against one another. But at the same time, I cannot help but feel and acknowledge UNITY - and this is what I will remain focused upon during the year ahead. We must stand united. We are after all 'one humanity'
We are without doubt living in very challenging times.
May peace be with you!

It is truly difficult to effectively relate how graceful and ethereal Manta Rays are as they perform their nightly ballet in the warm waters near Kona Hawaii. This image perhaps does the work of hundreds of adjectives in relating the emotion you feel as these massive creatures glide inches from your face.

I could probably best relate to this as the equivalent of giving your little brother an unplugged video game remote and acting like he's the one who's good at the game.
Probably in an event to keep me more engaged in the US rail scene than I was at the time (looking back 2 months later makes me realise how none of this can be recreated back home), the R'bauers assigned me to choose somewhere for this coal train we were pretty sure was close by.
A quick geeze at Sun Seeker and Google Maps, trying to pinpoint where the late afternoon shadows won't have covered the BNSF Fallbridge Sub. Came to the conclusion that John Day Dam Road may be the best bet.
Up a hill and only a few minutes later, I could see the microscopic coal wagons at Towal moving. An excited shout to the R'bauers, and this bad boy rolls by a few minutes later.
Specifically, a coal train from Spring Creek mine in Montana to the Centralia Power Plant in Washington. From what Lewis' notes lead me to believe, this power station is scheduled for closure later in the year.
