Worst reflection shot ever. Work has been so busy, it’s difficult to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Mirror images of the Royal Albert Dock seen due to reflections in the very still dock waters. Shots taken around the Pier Head during the latest visit of the cruise ship to the city of Liverpool.
My most surreal reflection shot to date, taken in a florist's window. I don't remember what the reflected sign said; perhaps it's a one-way sign, but the reflected sky was already too dark and the arrow and message were probably on the other side... The leaf is being backlit by lighting within the window that "lights it up" and allows us the follow its centra "vein." Taken along Sixth Ave., there were short brownstone-style buildings across the street that didn't make it into the shot, aside from the line of their roofs.
If anyone knows the exact name of this fern leaf, please advise :~> Thanks, mimivk, for alerting me to the fact that this was a type of fern.

Another Ad Reflection Shot. Summer temperatures again today. A blue sky and around 18 C.
A reflection shot turned 180 degrees the only give away is the ice in the left corner , you can see the ice best on black .
I think this is my favorite reflection shot. It was taken sitting outside a café in Nuremberg. I like it because it's probably the closest to how I look at myself. I'm a very self-reflecting person, always trying to find out who I am, always wondering how others see me. If they see the same as I do when they look at me. What do they see? Do they see the real me?
When I look at myself, the picture is often blurry and sometimes crystal clear. It's always changing and yet, at the core, the same. I'm evolving and so is my reflection.

Last Thursday I went on a bike trip to Germany again, together with the lovely Miss A. We biked 180 kilometers, from Amsterdam to Enschede, in one day, and then had to spend the night in a crappy hotel because there were no trains anymore going to our final destination. The next day we biked the last 75 kilometers and had a fun weekend, there was a big festival going on and we met lots of nice people. Monday we came back home to the best city in the world, sadly we had to travel mostly by train because there was a major thunderstorm hovering above the Netherlands. The trip was great anyway and we'll go again soon I hope :)

Another reflection shot, I like to go to college with some back up shots for the weekly challenge :0)
Many a times, photography has been about being at the right place at the right time. For example, some sunsets dont look right if it is not near the ocean; water reflection shots dont look right if the water is not still; long exposure shots of creeks dont look right during a sunny mid day; I could go on and on.
This was one example of it. I was trying really hard to capture the pure joy and innocence of these three skating in the middle of the rink at Bryant Park - but it was proving to be really difficult with the hordes of people going round and round, leaving little gap and hence requiring very fine timing.
Sadly, I could not get that perfect timing and I ended up with this.
I was at the right place at the wrong time.
How many times has this happened to you?
Nevertheless, it was quite a plesant day, I spent over an hour watching the ice skaters, carefree and troublefree.

In this reflection shot, I'm starting to fish for new angles on the night before shots. Sometimes the magic works and sometimes it doesn't.

Day 36 (v 3.0) - another reflection shot means another long walk. not another 16 km hike like friday but long enough to tire me out for the evening. this was a shiny object (not sure if it was a lamp globe or just an ornament of some sort) that caught my attention in a store FULL of attention-catching items. none were purchased.
I'm realizing as I post through this backlog that I've been taking a lot of mirror shots. This is a reflection shot, in the shiny metal trash can.

The sides and shapes of this building on campus lends itself easily for reflection shots.
This is the Baughman Meditation Center alongside Lake Alice.
The exterior walls of the pavilion are covered in windows and made of natural Florida cypress stained to resemble the surroundings plant life. The cypress is grooved vertically to give the appearance of individual tree trunks. The sloping roof of the pavilion is composed of tongue-and-groove yellow pine and copper to mimic the look of medieval cathedrals. The front door is made of maple with inlaid Gothic patterns in cherry and an ornamental architrave of crenelated mahogany. The floor is made of three shades of travertine marble arranged in a geometric pattern based on the building’s structure. The pavilion is oriented so that the dominant axis coincides with sunrise and sunset at the summer solstice.
The Baughman Center was the brainchild of Dr. Baughman, a university alumnus, who was the first president of New College of Florida He was inspired by the picture of a building he found in a National Geographic magazine. The Baughmans donated $1 million dollars towards the project and after five years of planning, construction started. The building was completed in 2000.George Baughman died on December 24, 2004, and his memorial service was held in the center on December 30.

Heather loves caves and caverns so on this trip back East I tried to take her to as many as possible. The first one on our list was Luray Caverns, near Luray, Virginia. I visited these caverns as a kid, probably over 40 years ago.
A lot of reviews knocked Luray Caverns as too commercialized but we thought they were great. Incredible formations everywhere. We lucked out and got to go on a self paced tour so we weren't stuck traveling in a group. This was a great place to visit and we both gave it a 5 star rating.
