Used a scrap booking alphabet to create the reflection. Shot with 2 SB28 flashes at 1/16. ISO 200, F8. Triggered with PCB cybersyncs.

my biggest reflection shot ever.

Taken from inside a roof covered pavement adjacent to Harbourside Shopping Complex, Darling Harbour, Sydney.

In this photo I clicked the shutter too early. I should let the cyclist come closer to me so that I can get his picture in the reflection shot that I tried to make. And before I could take a second shot, he already cycled pass me. But sometimes in life you only have one shot and I had missed it.

This is Alicia Florez, earlier this month entertaining the shoppers in Portsmouth, c/w her reflection, shot with the Fuji 56mm at f1.4 on the XT2 at 800 iso

After a mid-week tip off (thanks Chris), I managed an early finish on Friday to see this bird. It was impossible to get a really low angle but the still water was perfect for some reflection shots.

I realise I only put up a couple of photos from my trip to London back in February. Here are a couple of reflection shots from a calm and sunny day.

Cloudy day and almost perfect for reflection shot.

I appreciate the Business District of La Defense might not be top of every Paris tourists list of attractions but I'd highly recommend it if you like Contemporary Architecture or even abstract reflection shots like this.

Accompanied by DIY chickenmeatballs! The first time ever to attempt both the recipe and food photography.

The setup was a single flash with shoot-through umbrella plus ceiling reflection. Shot with an adapted old OM series Zuiko 50mm f/1.4 at f/4 on a NEX5.

This greater yellow legs was foraging in some bright light in a receding pond. Perfect for some nice reflection shots!

In an odd twist of photographic fate, there was no World of Color show this night due to scheduled maintenence of the platforms. For this reason, they left the fountains in Paradise Park on the entire evening providing a unique opportunity for a cool blue hour reflection shot.

Another reflection shot in the City, looking up the Trump world tower

The rain was starting to clear when we made our way back in the direction of the station to come home. I couldn't resist a reflection shot in this puddle! (And yes, I know it's upside down!)

My one a day today is a reflection shot of nature in an abstract fashion. Its just how I saw it today. Hope you like it.

Two Lights Reflection

Cape Elizabeth, Maine

This is one of the two lighthouses that make up the "Two Lights" in this area of Cape Elizabeth, reflecting in a tidepool during Wednesday evening's amazing sunset. The other light is nearby but deactivated. I didn't really think of it at the time, but I guess a reflection shot of the only active light makes sense for the name "Two Lights"...! This was taken with my point & shoot, which has saved me a few times before when I didn't have my "big camera" with me.

Reflection shot of Sunrise among the trees

You can capture some very nice patterns when taking reflection shots like this.

After a rainy day in the park and looking for that next reflection shot, we came across the Sword in the Stone. All photo credit goes to Hamilton as I completely took inspiration from his previous post, but couldn't resist trying this one myself.

It funny because I totally though the shot was with the castle was in the background, but after post processing the photo and then going back to credit link the shot, I realized that his background was with the carousel instead!

I definitely don't tilt as well and I only wish I didn't shoot wide open (at least on the 24-105) at f/4 so the full sword would be in focus, as the pommel is blurred.

Enjoy!

We're finally starting to warm up so I went out again on Saturday. Got a few reflection shots. Liked the symmetry of these three panes in a downtown coffee shop.

A classic reflection shot of the SuperTrees, Flower Dome and the green garden paradise of Gardens by the Bay.

Mono lake tufa reflection shots are cliched by now. I've been to Mono lake multiple times, both for sunrises and sunsets and had been unsuccessful so far to contribute to that collection. The colors never popped when it mattered.

Finally on the day before climbing white mountain peak, we had a "sunset stopover" at Mono lake, and I found the colors I was after. The water was a bit still around some of the Tufas (quite surprisingly). So there I was, fine tuning the composition, waiting for the moment, talking to the kid (while nervously peeking at the stone in his hand) who was curious as to what on earth I was shooting in the fly infested shore , and lo-behold he went ahead and popped it into the lake and quiped, "Isn't it beautiful ?" :o

The kid has been missing ever since. If you see a limb sticking out of the water in the frame, it's just a piece of tufa playing on your imaginations.

I however managed to find a spot where the water was still calm and the tufas were lit up by the fading rays from the sun. The sky in the background was already being painted on by belt of venus.

So here's to another elusive shot in the bucket list.

One more reflection shot. No more, I promise. : )

Just a reflection shot into a window of a porch. The imperfections in the glass caught the light. It looked better taking it to enamel so i did. Olympus E330 and adjusted in Corel and Exposure 2

Revision A

This is the same video that I posted yesterday, but I’ve made a few refinements to it and the black screens have been replaced with some reflection shots! No need to comment again, but you are welcome to take a look again if you like! I just didn’t know how to replace the video and didn’t want to destroy the comments that people had left! I wasn't too sure that some people were turned off by the black screen and never took a look!

Thanks to my Flickr friend for point out a spelling error in the presentation and it has been corrected, but this will be the very last upload as I don't want to burden everyone over an over! Best not to make you contacts ill! There is not a replacement option for videos like there is for photos! Have a wonderful evening!

A small pond on the side of Airport Road with a great reflection, shot on the way up to Georgian Bay.

Just a couple more reflection shots on the Charles River. Soon I will vow to do something other than reflections. =)

Comments are always appreciated... Thanks!

A scene of calm and tranquility from the edge of the city park in Bilbao, Spain, perfect conditions for a reflection shot of the area.

Flipping your reflection shot maybe a bit clichéd, and my dad did advise me to 'avoid clichés like the plague', but then hey, what the heck I never listened much as a kid - why start now!

A walk through Liverpool city centre and some street photography on our way to our anniversary meal on 7 January 2025.

Who can resist the chance to take a reflection shot.

**scanned from a film print**

I could not resist trying for the reflection shot after a summer rain storm at Schiller Park left ponds of water all over. Taken in August of 1979.

Here's another reflection shot, but perhaps a bit more interesting...

SHE HAD THE SOFT DRINK JITTERS

depending on how you see it

no end of six word stories here!

Believe it or not, this is straight from the cam . . .

Another *reflection* shot of a Coca-Cola sign.

I don't drink soda, due to the high corn syrup factor,

but when I did, I actually preferred Pepsi!

Anyway, it's neither here nor there . . .

just a shot that keeps tickling my fancy.

Now please tell me your pepsi/coca-cola stories!

INDULGE and BULGE

“Family dinners are more often than not an ordeal of nervous indigestion, preceded by hidden resentment and ennui and accompanied by psychosomatic jitters.”

So many tiny reflections. :)

Seattle from a hotel lobby...

While taking a few of these reflection shot in our hotel lobby, a messenger flew by on his bike. I think it really adds an interesting element to the shot....

Week 5 / 52 is "upside down".

I went with a reflection shot as well as kind of pushing the processing because it was a dull overcast day today when I shot it.

Did the rushing water give you a buzz? Let's slow the water WAAAY down? The breezes were just enough to create lightly reflecting waves and broken clouds, sky and tree reflections skittering about. I tried to eliminate everything other than river ripples. I really like this set of reflections; conditions were 10-4 and I was carrying my longer zoom. I had not trekked around Golden Ponds in a week, but I needed to get out from behind my monitor. I have less tolerance for sitting on bright days. Yet here I sit, editing waiting for evening for the carney to rev up. Recently we are still graced by 90 degree days but we were are getting cooler nights. I need to wring more days from this August though I have hundreds or thousands of edits awaiting. Well, the scientists said last year was the warmest on record, world wide: we have already arrived at the forecast climate change. I watched the Portland crew trying to bottle up the Shell icebreaker. Really! An icebreaker in the Arctic? Didn't Shell read this winter's forecasts? I don't think the Fox Media advertising is doing the job. Let's hope their believers get whacked first! I believe that weather will become the largest voting block.

I usually look to see what the sky is doing and if I can manage to look, I found a great sky reflected in the stream yesterday. And how many shots have I already captured at the Park? These geese and other water fowl decided to churn through some of my reflection shots just after I set up the monopod and camera to shoot the water reflections. I love the saturations of the foliage . This shot screams peace in the St.Vrain Valley. Imagine whirled peas!

Framed with his reflection, caught in the ritual of scrolling—a quiet choreography of habit and isolation. The bench, the glass, the angles—they all hold him, even as he drifts elsewhere.
