I put things in my windows because I hate sunlight, and it's easier than nailing 'em to a wall, plus I figure they insulate ever-so-slightly ... but then I noticed this metal shark behind the American flag sort of makes an unintentional statement about American foreign policy, and the selfish, interventionist, ruthless, bloodthirsty methods our policy employs.

Put on by Livable Streets Action, an affiliate group of BikeLoudPDX. This vigil was held to remember the 409 people who have died on Oregon roads so far in 2015... and particularly Martin Greenough, who was killed five days ago while biking on NE Lombard.

This seasonal scene was inspired by a photograph of deer and hinds at dusk. I used the silhouette of the stag and built up several simple elements: I think the main decision-making comes when trying to decide what to leave in and leave out: For instance, I decided to put in the tracks of the stag because it was in keeping with the internal logic of the image. On the other hand, I opted to leave out the 'mist' caused by the breath of the stag because it would have been too much detail. The branches in the foreground were traced from images sourced from the web, and whilst I initially took some photos of trees with the intention of tracing them for the background, I decided in the end that life is too short, and sourced some bitmap images from the web that could be made slightly transparent. Similarly, the form of the snowflake was again sourced from the web. Hopefully there is enough original input to justify calling this my own work! If I were feeling more ambitious I would have perhaps used a chiaroscuro effect upon the stag. One aspect I do like is the way the branches in the foreground 'echo' the shape and form of the stag's antlers.

I've put this in my Kit-car album, simply because I don't know where else to place it. Although it's not sold in kit form it is based on another car - the FX4 black-cab - and isn't a replica. Still, if you want to order a taxi to take you down the long road to the maker of the makers of all makes, then this is as good as it gets.
Put my new shelves together tonight, then re-ordered my dvd's.. Special/Large box sets go on top. Then Tv Shows alphabetized, Then Stand up dvds alphabetized by comedian then in order or when they were released, then Movies alphabetized... There is another row just out of the picture also full.
Going through my dvd's tonights i realised i really dont have as many as i thought i did, But i have some very special and some very hard to get ones in there :) I love my collection.
(I even found a few still in there shrink wrap hehehe)
I put the camera back to my bed so I could shoot the first thing I saw when I woke up today.
She's usually the first thing I see. Then she gets up and runs around my feet as if to say, "feed me! feed me!"
I think we'll end up with raising the counter and putting a new counter and sink in it.
We'll frame the mirror and get new, longer lights.
We think we'll widen the door there that goes into our bedroom. It's only 2 feet wide, and standard is 2 1/2. The other doors are already 3 feet wide.
The corner will have a tall cupboard for our towels and toilletry/medicine stuff.

I realized I haven't put any pictures of our house up lately. So, the coming few weeks I will show you one room every week. This is our living room.
These pictures really make me laugh because I did not intentionally put our cat Meneertje in there at all. He just LOVES attention and insisted on creeping into view right when I snapped pictures.
PS: If you're wondering why there's no art on the walls. Well. We're not allowed to drill holes in our walls and we haven't figured out a solution to this.
Put the three spare bullnose tiles to work for the skeletons. Once that countertop is made and the stupid sink arrives this bathroom is a wrap.
Then I'll probably just keep using that shower stall kit I had to put together in basement by sump pump in utility room in order to begin this mess. :)
Put it inside of a cheap fence so close that people can't enjoy it! Just my opinion but why stuff this inside a little fence and block it from really being enjoyed for what it is!

Isolated inside its own fenced courtyard, the small building is known simply enough as the execution chamber. Between the years of 1937 and 1989, 39 or 40 (depending on the source) inmates were put to death inside the structure. All of the executions, save one, were conducted in the state's gas chamber where the sealed unit was filled with cyanide gas. The sole exception was the prison's last execution on January 26, 1989.

Nice, eh? I can see why this plastic screen was put around the concrete monstrosity of a park & ride - to preserve much more $ in property values and the neighborhood's dignity. I mean you can get up on top of the garage and - until the security guard asks you politely to stop loitering - peer down on a slice of the nearby international airport.
