Heather and I checked out a fund raiser put on by the StarBelly School of Dance - it was called Efflorescence, the 5th Annual Big Bad-Ass Bellydance Show. This was way more than a traditional belly dance show - it had elements of belly dance but it also had a lot of modern dance too. It was an amazing show - we are so glad we went. What a great introduction to the belly dance community in Boise!
I took these photos on 8 February 2015. Photo note - the lighting was set for a theater event - it was very dark, low light, with constantly changing lights so a lot of photos are not tack sharp and the skin tones might be a bit off. Other than that, it was a great show!
Builder Gary Corns put together this radical 1939 Plymouth pickup truck with a Jacobs 757 c.i.d. 7 cylinder radial airplane engine.
The propeller shaft is connected to a 3-inch blower cogged pulley & belt setup that connects to a Casale (boat)V-drive. A custom driveshaft heads back from the bottom of the V-drive flange to the front of a GM Turbo 400 transmission, where a one off assembly made up up of Chevelle & Ford pinion and various other bearings and stuff spins a12in. torque convertor, that delivers the power back to a Franklin quick-change rear end. Gary used a lot of parts from his wrecking yard and worked his fabrication black magic….and VOILA , you got one Wicked ryde.

I went to see the Durham Bulls v. the Pawtucket Red Sox last night at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. When I was walking around the stadium I notice that the gate that leads to center field was open. I'm not sure if that's normal for a game, but I decided I was going to take advantage and take some shots from the outfield. When all of my processing was done, this one was far and away my favorite from the night. Oh, and though the Bulls won the matchup of minor league teams, the Red Sox had a nice beat down of the Rays in the big league battle. Overall, a pretty good evening.

I put this together with a combination of Mattel Sets: the Happy Family Nursery Playset, the Happy Family Baby Store Playset, parts of Gloria playsets, and other various Mattel Playsets. There are a few other random miniature things that I have collected over the years, and some handmade pieces: the modern brown and white crib, and the sets of miniature cubbies on top of the wooden display shelves. Also, Fisher Price key chains from Basic Fun, tiny flocked Teddy Bears from Hobby Lobby, vintage Fisher Price dollhouse rocking horse, Squinkies, Basic Fun purse key chains. Have a question about an item in the diorama? Feel free to ask! :) I'll do my best to remember who makes it and/or where I purchased it. Thanks for looking! Ronda

Well time for me to put on my Si-Fi anorak
I'm a big fan of all Si-Fi but love our home spun Dr.Who above most. I didn't put these few pics up just because I'm a saddo nut case (ok so I maybe) Part of the reason was how pleased I was with the outcome of them, I'll tell you it was bloody hard trying to control the exposure, keep the focus all without a tripod (or mono pod) All these were taken hand held, so I'm quite chuffed. If your a Dr.Who fan you'll enjoy the exhibition.
The Clockwork Robots were created by a spacecrew from the 51st Century. When the ship was damaged, vital machinery was destroyed so they began to use the crew's body parts instead.
They managed to travel through time windows so they could meet Madame de Pompadoure to use her brain, only when she was at the right age though.
They had strange smiling faces and long black hair for their trips to France but were actually glass humanoid figures operated by space age clockwork technology.
They would break any clocks in the room to disguise their arrival and would slice open the parts of people where the organs could be found by their blades and saws in their hands.
The Pumpkin Brothers
Perry and Brian Hawks
On Clemmonsville Road between Stratford Rd and The old Salisbury Highway is a real Halloween Treat!
My wife and I discovered for the very first time Perry and Brian Hawks Pumpkins! I had just learned the secret to carving pumpkins with a template was to use a jigsaw! Then accidentally on our way to Winston Salem via country roads we found the most perfect place to buy our pumpkins.
Atmosphere is everything!
The old house, the maple tree changing colors, plenty of hay, wagons, old country signs make this the best place to take your kids to pick their pumpkins. The Hawks made tents out of old corn shucks!
A professional Photographer was there to take a family portrait. If you bring you own camera, you can’t take a bad photograph!
This year we passed by late one night and noticed the old house was gone.
My wife and I haven’t had time to stop by this year to see if the Hawks are back.
However we saw that the pumpkins were starting to pile up and will visit!
I thought these guys really deserved a good plug and couldn’t put the article off any longer.
I made a

Town Showed Great Hart! A gritty comeback from 2 nil down midway through the first was started with a Tom Ince goal just before half time. Ridge came out strong in the 2nd and soon saw an equalizer from captain George Melling before a quick brace from Jay Hart put the game to bed. Town got one more through Richie Allen before AFC got a consolation. A great start to the new league with 3 points.

Vitamin C's "Smile"
And, that banana was delicious :)
Alright...
Alright...
First of all
When you wake up in the evening and the day is shot
Find yourself complaining 'bout the thing you ain't got
Never crossed just the way that you wanted it to
Cliche of the day, cest la vie that's just
[Chorus:]
Life, it ain't easy
It's so tough
It ain't easy
(Whatchu wanna do, say whatchu gonna do)
Put a smile on your face
Make the world a better place
Put a smile on your face
(Whatchu wanna do, say whatchu gonna do)
Put a smile on your face
Make the world a better place
Put a smile on your face
(Whatchu wanna do, say whatchu gonna do)
And another thing
You can say that I'm a dreamer and you think it's uncool
Preaching 'bout the better life I learned in school
But you get what you give in this life that we live
And all that you do come back to you
Life, it ain't easy
It's so tough
It ain't easy
(Whatchu wanna do, say whatchu gonna do)
Put a smile on your face
Make the world a better place
Put a smile on your face
(Whatchu wanna do, say whatchu gonna do)
Put a smile on your face
Make the world a better place
Put a smile on your face
(Whatchu wanna do, say whatchu gonna do)
Yo,
When things isn't right there's no need to fight
Come on be nice
No need to fight
Stay polite even when you're hurting don't forget to smile
Give love to our nation, big or small
When you do good you'll get your reward
United with stand, divided we fall
Put a smile on your face and greet one and all
Life, it ain't easy
It's so tough
It ain't easy
(Whatchu wanna do, say whatchu gonna do)
Put a smile on your face
Make the world a better place
Put a smile on your face
(Whatchu wanna do, say whatchu gonna do)
Put a smile on your face
Make the world a better place
Put a smile on your face
(Whatchu wanna do, say whatchu gonna do)
People love you when you smile
And hate you when it's through
Lots of happiness
We are wishing you
If you come from Jamaica or Honolulu, yeah
Keep a smile on your face
I'll see the good that you do
Smile (smile)
And everything will be fine..
Pinchbottom Burlesque puts together a first-rate murder-mystery of a show tonight to celebrate the release of Jonny Porkpie's first novel, the new pulp whodunit The Corpse Wore Pasties.
Published with Hard Case Crime, the book has actual pages and words and, I'm told, a plot and characters and everything. Frankly, I'm tickled about the whole thing. Given the quality of Jonny's writing with Pinchbottom, I'm looking forward to devouring the story, and enjoying the inevitable sly humor along the way.
Tonight the show starts with a reading by the author, who is quickly murdered and re-appears as a co-host in angelic form. Well, with wings and zombie-eye makeup, anyway. Can the Pinchbottom cast discover the naked truth (as they put it), laying bare the wily culprit? Etc. etc. etc. Many bad jokes, and a couple of good ones, lie ahead.
Congratulations, Mr. Porkpie.
