Journey along with the time human life changes in every moment. One change opens a new door to our life and on the other hand it puts a barrier to another.
Time. So much of it passes and before you know it so many memories flash before you eyes. Through time, through talking and not talking, there's always one thing that stays in remembrance, the heart, feelings. No matter how much time has past, if it's true, it stays. The memories we have in the past and the memories that we look forward to build to the future.
For once I want to show a different side of me, a different side of my usual disney obsessed, super cheery happy go lucky self. A much more secretive and personal side.

Celebrated my bestfriend's birthday over the weekend at the beach. We have been friends since we were 6 yrs old...In this world of impermanence, i think that is worth something.
And yes..born under the fire sign, she is a fireball 😁
And the delightful seed pod of an Aquilegia.
Mum bought me the cactus more than a decade ago. So cool to see these relatively new cuttings (about 2 years old) put out 3 beautifully exquisite flowers. They spend about 4 months growing then bloom for 48 hours before drooping. Such a delight for the eyes. So intricate and purposeful.
Hopefully this young male immature will come back with a full red throat after spending the Winter in Central America.
I am starting to see reports of them showing up at feeders in North Carolina. They bring me so much joy flitting about the place.
Cleo rarely visits the world on the other side of the fence as usually she doesn't see any sense in summoning the energy for such an endeavor. It's not easy for a cat of her size to climb over a fence. She has a ladder on my side of the fence which makes it easier for her but there still remains the big question how to get back. The neighbour hasn't seriously considered yet to put a ladder on his side of the fence as well. When Cleo has ended up in the neighbouring garden and wants to return home she often rather walks around the neighbour's house and along the street to our front door where she has to wait until someone finally lets her in. As she can't reach the door bell that can take a while. If she is lucky a neighbour who sees her informs me that "the big cat" is waiting in front of the door. Cleo doesn't consider "big cat" as a compliment, btw. :) Happy Fence Friday !

Esztergom was the capital of Hungary from the 10th till the mid-13th century when King Béla IV of Hungary moved the royal seat to Buda. During the same period, the castle of Esztergom was built on the site of ancient Roman castrum. It served not only as the royal residence until the 1241 (the Mongol invasion), but also as the center of the Hungarian state, religion, and Esztergom county.
After changing his residence to Budapest, Béla IV gave the palace and castle to the archbishop. Following these events, the castle was built and decorated by the bishops. The center of the king’s town, which was surrounded by walls, was still under royal authority. A number of different monasteries did return or settle in the religious center.
Meanwhile, the citizenry had been fighting to maintain and reclaim the rights of towns against the expansion of the church within the royal town. In the chaotic years after the fall of the House of Árpád, Esztergom suffered another calamity: in 1304, the forces of Wenceslaus II, the Czech king occupied and raided the castle. In the years to come, the castle was owned by several individuals: Róbert Károly and then Louis the Great patronized the town.
The Ottoman conquest of Mohács in 1526 brought a decline to the previously flourishing Esztergom as well. In the Battle of Mohács, the archbishop of Esztergom died. In the period between 1526 and 1543, when two rival kings reigned in Hungary, Esztergom was besieged six times. At times it was the forces of Ferdinand I or John Zápolya, at other times the Ottomans attacked. Finally, in 1530, Ferdinand I occupied the castle. He put foreign mercenaries in the castle, and sent the chapter and the bishopric to Nagyszombat and Pozsony.
However, in 1543 Sultan Suleiman I attacked the castle and took it. Esztergom became the centre of an Ottoman sanjak controlling several counties, and also a significant castle on the northwest border of the Ottoman Empire. In the 17th century Esztergom was besieged and conquered several times during the Ottoman-Habsburg Wars. Most of the buildings in the castle and the town that had been built in the Middle Ages were destroyed during this period, and there were only uninhabitable, smothered ruins to welcome the liberators.
In 1761 the bishopric regained control over the castle, where they started the preliminary processes of the reconstruction of the new religious center: the middle of the Várhegy (Castle Hill), the remains of Saint Stephen and Saint Adalbert churches were carried away to provide room for the new cathedral.
This was unique behaviour to me. The Squirrel wasnt anywhere near the photographers, but she was hyper vigilant.
They will often stand on their hind legs to let intruders know that they are a formidable enemy should advances be made further into the territory.

GLC 386 puts the hammer down as they bust through some massive drifts after working a customer in Ashley. This was the first train after their holiday shut down, which coincided with the season's first major snow/blizzard event, leaving its mark in the form of massive drifts. Little did we know just how epic this drift bust would be.

TUBE NOSTRILS, puts the fulmar, with the family of the shearwaters and petrels, not a gull, to watch these birds with stiffly held wings and effortless gliding action, captured from the top of the cliffs at Northforland Margate, Kent. U.K are a joy to watch, they nest in the chalk cliffs. Please zoom in to see the tube nose! (110 cm in length)

Windmill the “Put” on the “Galgewater” in the Dutch city of Leiden is a replica of the post mill of Jan Jansenzoon Put dating from 1987.
This original mill was built in 1619, after which the first mill burned down in 1640. After the wooden flour mill was rebuilt, it had to make way in 1729 for a stone scaffolding mill, similar to the De Valk mill. This mill, which bore the name “De Coornbloem / De Korenbloem / De Korenmolen”, was demolished in 1817. Archaeologists discovered the foundations of the octagonal mill stronghold in 1982. In 1983, as part of the 25th anniversary of the “Rijnlandse Molenstichting”, the idea was put forward to build a post mill on the old bastion. This idea was finally realized four years later. The mill has one grinding couple with 17, 150 cm diameter, artificial stones

We put an electric heater and a water bowl on our patio. I keep warm water in the bowl and the birds are sure enjoying it. Not a very good picture through the class and a screen.
Our area is not prepared for the weather we are having.
