A small group of us, led by Andy Cook, valiantly set off on the hike to Red Rock Falls. And then the rain began. And then got harder. And then the hail fell. Taking cover under a sparse tree I was soon find out that my new Shimoda backpack was up to the task. I couldn’t get to the rain cover without exposing the contents to drenching rain. Didn’t need to. Everything on the inside was dry. Had we not already made it relatively close to the falls I confirmed with Andy later that we would have turned back. But fortunately, on we went. It continued to rain, and hail a bit, but slacked off to a tolerable degree. Climbing around the rocks near the head of the falls wasn’t dangerous per se but to this sea level guy, still a bit nerve racking. But the views!!!! My microfiber cloth was already drenched and I didn’t know if the images would be ruined by rain drops on the lens, but everything turned out fine. This is my favorite image of the trip, enhanced greatly by the experience of getting it. It’s an HDR composite of 36 imaged taken from the top to the bottom of the falls in segments and then put together in Lightroom. (Thank you Adobe) (Sony a1, 16-35mm lens at 16mm, f/16, ISO 125 (which I’m sure I thought was on 100 at the time) and shutter speeds from 1/320 second to 1/5 of a second.)

As part of Singapore's Light to Night Festival 2023, two light installations were put up at the Padang.
Hearing Padang is comprises 2 large curved structures that creates an acoustic experience that allows sound to travel from one end to another.
Time. So much of it passes and before you know it so many memories flash before you eyes. Through time, through talking and not talking, there's always one thing that stays in remembrance, the heart, feelings. No matter how much time has past, if it's true, it stays. I was out taking photos this morning after a light snowfall overnight. I saw Snoopy high up in the old pine tree coming down from one of its favorite spots. Lucky for Snoopy, I did put some peanuts out right before that. Does this squirrel look like it needs anymore to eat? They're all wearing their winter coats the past few months.

This Red Tree Rat (Squirrel) has been eating my suet's that I put out for the birds, devouring them in one day.
It is aggressive and has a bad attitude, it swears at me, takes a fit and stamps it's feet if I get to close.
I've given up on trying to scare it off, it just comes back after a few minutes and stares at me belligerently and swears at me all the more.
I don't have a squirrel trap but I think I'm going to have to make one so I can trap this little Demon From Hell and relocate it several miles away and hope it never finds it's way back here.

Passed again a week ago (April, 2023) around and is there no more. There was a fire and probably was destroyed or removed when the fire was put out.
Hopefully this young male immature will come back with a full red throat after spending the Winter in Central America.
I am starting to see reports of them showing up at feeders in North Carolina. They bring me so much joy flitting about the place.
GLC 386 puts the hammer down as they bust through some massive drifts after working a customer in Ashley. This was the first train after their holiday shut down, which coincided with the season's first major snow/blizzard event, leaving its mark in the form of massive drifts. Little did we know just how epic this drift bust would be.

This was unique behaviour to me. The Squirrel wasnt anywhere near the photographers, but she was hyper vigilant.
They will often stand on their hind legs to let intruders know that they are a formidable enemy should advances be made further into the territory.

Windmill the “Put” on the “Galgewater” in the Dutch city of Leiden is a replica of the post mill of Jan Jansenzoon Put dating from 1987.
This original mill was built in 1619, after which the first mill burned down in 1640. After the wooden flour mill was rebuilt, it had to make way in 1729 for a stone scaffolding mill, similar to the De Valk mill. This mill, which bore the name “De Coornbloem / De Korenbloem / De Korenmolen”, was demolished in 1817. Archaeologists discovered the foundations of the octagonal mill stronghold in 1982. In 1983, as part of the 25th anniversary of the “Rijnlandse Molenstichting”, the idea was put forward to build a post mill on the old bastion. This idea was finally realized four years later. The mill has one grinding couple with 17, 150 cm diameter, artificial stones
