Put the Canon FD 28mm 3.5 SC lens that is stuck at f3.5 on a reverse macro ring on the Canon 5D Mark II and took it out to get some shots of the ice that had formed on the spruce needles this morning.

Thanks for visiting my little space here on Flickr.

From the archives....I must have hundreds of images I've never processed or posted, and every once in a while, I come across something that makes me appreciate my own Midwestern surroundings a little more :-) Have a great Monday, and as always, thanks for all your visits and comments!!!! Will catch up with everyone soon.

Put the Rokinon 85mm f1.4 manual focus lens on a Kenko Extension tube on the camera and had some more fun with my bouquet that is still hanging in.

I may not always get to thank you for every fave or reply to a comment that you might leave here on my image but, just know each comment is read and very much appreciated.

Not only are there spiders in my shower, the rest of my house, and my mom’s house… As I drove away from the boat ramp the other night after photographing too many Metazygias, I noticed a pale spot moving up the windshield and stopped the car. Reached into the glove box for a 1 ounce cup. Because of course I keep some there, doesn’t everyone?? Swept it over the speck, put the lid on, and drove home. When I pulled into the garage and the light came on, I saw that a second tiny spider had made a web across from the rear view mirror, and had to sweep that one up in the cup too. Because one spider on the drive home wasn’t enough.

This little zippy one didn’t want to settle down, and I thought the only photos I’d get would be of it tucked into an indent on the lid, but it finally stayed frozen on the black glass when I lifted the cup, and so we get to appreciate its tiny little details.

I want to say thank you to everyone for the wonderful wonderful comments and support. This project has been fun as well as a blessing to me, and I've learned a lot along the way......... so far. Bring on the next 6 months!

I've put together a video of the first 6 months of my 365. It's here if you would like to check it out.

I am willing to speculate that I am the secular person that visits the Church of the Holy Sepulchre more than any other visitor.

It's not a coincidence.

The religious experience, and the pure belief in the mighty Lord attracts me, fascinates me, leaves me with an awe.

Each time anew I watch the pilgrims a bit like a young boy,

trying to 'put myself in their shoes', to understand their thoughts and feelings.

Put this photoshoot together on short notice for a challenge at DPC. Model is Aldís who some of you might recognize from other photos here. It was my idea to put a black line right across the face from top to bottom but it was Henný (who of course did the makeup) who thought of making the line over her eyes as well, making a cross.

Am going to seriously work on my studio lighting this winter as I think that´s where I most need to improve, I know I am pretty good in the studio but I am far from great and not really blowing anyone away with my studio shots, yet. Took another "half body" shot that looks better in color wich I will post soon as well.

Lighting was 4 lights, one from front, two from sides and one above/behind Aldís.

After years of procrastination I finally put my name down a few months ago for a Scottish Region Class 24/1 from Sutton's Loco Works. The loco selected is D5132, which comes in BR standard green with a yellow warning panel. Delivery is expected sometime next year but meantime I've been giving some thought as to where it will go. Being displayed on a shelf is not an option being considered - especially as the loco comes with the full-monty regards sounds and effects, including the 'stay-alive' feature.

Given that usable space is at a premium I've come up with the idea of a loco shed, theoretically located somewhere in the Borders area, during the steam-diesel transition period of the early 1960s. While D5132's home was Inverness 60A (making it a shoo-in for the Kyle and Far North Lines), seeing as I'll be the Operations Manager, I've decided the occasional trip down to Carlisle is a possibility, where it might encounter some ex-LNER and LMS friends.

The sketch attached is how it's currently visualised - it isn't to scale, but I do have a scaled plan. Use is made of a 3-way point and a double slip to save space. The shed is two-road with pits just in front of the entrance, and a water crane The well turntable is currently sized at 32 foot - which will turn a 3F Jinty but nothing bigger, so I may end up rethinking that.

The backdrop will be a brick retaining wall with a street scene above together with houses and shops. Just in front of the retaining wall will be a coaling stage - the line behind the shed used to access the coaling stage is long enough to hold a class 24 with a couple of mineral wagons, which will then be propelled back. I may well put a diesel-oil tank and another water crane there, to make it a 'one-stop shop'.

Entrance to the shed yard will possibly be through the bridge at bottom right. However, thoughts subsequent to this sketch are to have it from a small two-platform station currently being designed which, if it comes off, will also provide a circuit for continuous running.

This foray back into railway modelling is very simple after 50 years away so we'll see how (or even if) it goes. I have acquired some rolling stock - a covered van, three 16T mineral wagons (two with coal added), and a brake van, all of which are secondhand. I've also acquired enough of the track pieces (Peco Code 75 Bullhead) to start work on the Shed yard, although the baseboard and supports are still being researched so construction will have to wait until that's resolved and installed. Likely layout size will be 1.0m by 2.5m.

Imminent steps include acquiring a DCC controller - probably the Digitraks Zephyr Express - but, whichever it is, it's a steep and often confusing learning curve for someone who's only ever known the simple bi-directional analogue controllers of the 1960s.

It should make for some interesting fun over the next few months - if it does indeed get off the ground.

Apologies for the lack of responses lately. This coupled with Christmas prep, family, elderly relatives, and other personal commitments has made big demands on time. I will be however catching up over the next few days. Cheers, David.

Dearest journal, it's me again Tythos.

A lot has happened since i last had time to write, so our friend mister Whisper told my friends an i we should go to school and learn some stuff about the weird buildings that sometimes show p after the ground shakes. so we did, getting there was hard, and required us to swim, we puts the door to a school in a lake? stupid magic people.

so we get in and there is this weird trapped room that sets us on fire and freezes us and stuff, it hurt a lot, so i shot an arrow at the machine in the middle, it broke and a big stone monster with horns came out.... oops, my fault. after we killed it i took it's horns, because stupid meanies don't deserve horns!

we finally make it to the school it's self. we are shown out rooms, they were weird and creepy, fun though, then some weird stuff happened, we were told to go to the fey wild, which sounded like lots of fun! but my friend Fredrick couldn't go, the door kept closing on him. so i used one of my special arrows to send him to the fey wild, cause i can do that some times. he came back and said there was an evil version of him that tried to kill him! how mean!

The teacher came in and asked what happened, so we told him, he didn't believe me, so i shot him! you know, to send him to the fey wild too, he was on fire when he came back, evil Frederick had friends this time and they beat mister teacher up! then he told me the fey wild is too dangerous and i'm not alot to use my banishing magic anymore. then sir Whisker used some of his weird brain magic on the teacher, i don't remember why, but the teacher didn't like that, so he punished the whole group with the job of recruiting more magic people.

We left the school and we about to start handing out the flyers, but Cassandra saw a bird and chased it! understandable, i do that sometimes too. it's fun! but when we caught up to her she was fighting a big lizard with five heads! there was a snake lady there too she wasn't very nice, she said Cassandra was competing in a contest, but it wasn't a fair contest and i hate cheaters! so i jumped in as did my other friends! i killed the lizard! Cassie called it a "hydra" then my bow did that weird thing it sometimes does and shot some weird beam at the snake lady, she froze up and fell to the ground. we tried to ask why she was being mean, but a bird landed near her and shot her with magic lightning and she died, how rude!

when we got back to the town there was a party! i love parties! there was dancing, and food and wine! and i fought and beat the towns toughest fighter in hand to head combat! then the party ended when some people from the school showed up, the magistrate he called himself was very nosy and snobby, Cassandra talked to him and then we all had to do something, he sat us down on the floor and said we would find out past selves, what does that mean?!?

So now we are all in this weird place, the city looks dead and it's super super spooky! i don't like it, we keep seeing these statues that show us visions of the past, before this city died, visions of people celebrating very bad things like enslaving my fellow wild folk, it was sad and scary! Cassie and i are the only ones who can see these weird black threads pulling us toward something. Sir Whisker is clearing the bath with his druid magic as i write this, i don't know what's waiting for us on the other side of this sickly wall of....wrong looking vines, but something tells me this is the last chance i'll get to write in you journal. i hope one day i'll get a chance to tell Io i don't hate her, but i always try to be better than her because she's my friend and the only one who can challenge me. i hope i get to see Oikos again! i don't want to be an adventurer anymore, i'm scared!

Long Nose Point.

Its been over 7 years since i last visited this spot, since then there has actually been some proper raised walking tracks and signage put in place. I did not work that out until walking back in the morning, on the way in I simply followed the same path i did last time, which at the time i thought, bugger they have really let this track go and geez the battle with the face eating spiders was a bit more intense then i recall. Low and behold there is a new portion of track put in place with a raised board walk which does not follow the old track :)

This was taken about 40 minutes before the sun was due to rise and it was very still and quiet (planes were stacked ready to roll into Sydney once the curfew lifted :) ). It all changed once the sun came up, wind picked up and clouded over, wind strong enough to turn the first few keen fishing boats around and make one think twice about how close to stand to the edge.

Cape Baily Lighthouse in the distance.

Idea, poses and photo are done by Iris

The wonderful funny story is written by Ash

Special thanks to my sis River Anwyl for playing the copper ^^

This whole story started with the "Mr. Pinchy afair" which can be seen in the album in which I add this photo.

And a big thank you to Mr. Laurel and Mr. Hardy for being the inspiration!

And now without further ado on to the story. Thank you again for putting words to my silly ideas dearest Ash!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Come on Iris! Just stand up and let me put your chair on the roof and we can go already!.....It will be much faster if I did it!"

"Not a chance, Ash!", Iris grunted as she struggled to get her wheel chair on top of Ash's beat-up old chevette while balancing on a ladder placed against the mountain of stuff that was on top of Ash’s car. "I will feel much better knowing it was secured properly!"

Ash got behind the wheel of her "Classic" Hatchback and waited impatiently. The deafening rumbling noise from the hole in the chevette's muffler drowned out what Iris was trying to say. "Do you really need all this stuff, Ash?"

"What?", her pint-sized friend replied. "Are you ready yet?"

"NO!.....I am not ready, Ash!", Iris called out while struggling to firmly secure her wheel chair atop the mountain of "essential" items.

In the car's backseat, Ash's dog, Professor Noodle, pushed against the door causing the car to slightly shake as if someone had just gotten into the backseat. "Finally!", Ash said, thinking Iris had gotten in the back. "What? Your not talking to me now?", she added. Professor Noodle sniffed at Ash's ear. Ash laughed playfully, "knock it off, Iris! You know I hate that....... and eat a mint!.....Cheese-us your breath smells like you were licking a butthole or eating a tird sandwich or something!"

Ash put the car in drive and gunned it. From on top of the car's roof, Iris screamed out in horror as the car suddenly took off. All she could do was climb into her wheel chair, hold on to her hat and hang on for dear life.

The Chevette made it's way down the canyons winding roads on the way to the interstate. Iris was shrieking the entire time like a gay vampire who was locked outside a grave as the sun came up.

Inside the car, Ash was blasting Starship's Greatest Hits and was singing along at the top of her lungs. She was so caught up in the middle of her favorite song, “Nothings Gonna Stop Us Now”, that she didn't notice the motorcycle cop behind her with it's flashing lights on.

Officer Anwyl realized the driver of the chevette wasn't going to pull over, so she decided to take a shortcut and cut them off a few miles down the winding the road.

In no time, officer Anwyl was ahead of the chevette and stood in the middle of the road ready to order them to stop.

The hunk of rusty red metal rounded the corner at a high rate off speed. Iris was white knuckling her wheel chair as the tiny hatchback tilted on to two wheels. Mister Pinchy even slipped out of the side pocket he was stowing away in and hung on by his tiny little pincher. Officer Anwyl screamed out and high stepped out of the way, narrowly escaping the wrath of Ash's clunker with bad brakes. Ash had to pull up the emergency brake handle in order to stop the car.

"SHUT THE ENGINE OFF NOW!", commanded officer Anwyl. Ash killed the engine and could immediately hear Iris on top of the roof, hyperventilating.

Ash peaked her head out the window and looked up, "What are you doing up there, Iris? You trying to get me a ticket?" Iris stared down at Ash, her face flushed red, boiling over with anger.

"I am gonna need to see some ID", demanded officer Anwyl. Ash reached for her purse but was interrupted by the officer. "No not you ma'am, Teen Wolf up there", she said, pointing at Iris.

Iris was completely baffled. "ME?!"

"Yes you!. I am issueing you a summons for ‘Reckless Endangerment’ and for ‘Riding in a Non-Designated Passenger Compartment."

Iris stared down at Ash who was looking up at her with a sheepish smile on her lush lips and scratching the top of her head, and said: "Well, here's another nice mess you've gotten me into!"

Lancia put aerodynamic ideas first into practice with this magnificent Aprilia. The car was designed by Vincenzo Lancia himself and developed in cooperation with Battista Farina and Instituto Politecnico di Torino.

The Aprilia was presented in 1936. The body has pillarless doors which was a novelty.

The Lancia Aprilia was also assembled in France from 1937 to 1939, and sold as Lancia Ardennes.

I really hate recolouring >.<

Been wanting to make an all brickbuilt scene without so much recolouring using the Slave I but with its size it'd be quite the task.

Anyways, I've got more scenes on the way. Wasn't really planning on doing this till last night since I have to wait till I get some parcels to finish my next scenes that are actually brick built from the ground up.

I'm slowly trying to make my return.

-¿Qué vas a hacer?

Happy Thursday!!
