it's been rainy here in new york -- no snow, alas! -- so this photo from thanksgiving seems appropriate... i peeled it too early, giving it the odd reddish cast.
More from the rainstorm yesterday. I saw this reflection in the puddle on the walkway to our house and thought it was worth sharing. I could have flipped it 180 like the reaindrop image but left it the way I saw it...
The puddles reflect perfectly the amount of rain which has fallen over recent times, and it must be said the Midlands area has fared much better than the constant torrents endured by the poor souls in the north of the country. However, on 7th January 2016 the sun actually shone for a few hours (after a really awful morning of wind and rain) and picked out DBS Class 66 No. 66136 powering north through Wichnor Junction with 4Z69 0932 Southampton Western Docks - Masborough intermodal. The spur to Lichfield via Alrewas can be seen diverging to the right. Copyright photograph John Whitehouse - all rights reserved
Recent rain has created lots of water puddles in the rock platforms of Manly Dam; this one reflecting the late afternoon sun.
Two versions of the puddle...
each focused differently...
which do you like...this one, or the other
It's even better this way...
The best thing that can happen to a butterfly next to a living bouquet of flowers is a fresh puddle on a fine afternoon.
The puddle in this photo was no ordinary puddle. It was a special one, rain water flavoured with effluent from a public building nearby. You might imagine that some butterflies are too beautiful for this, but they just don't seem to care once the nutrients required for metabolism or reproduction is provided.

After 50 days of no rain here in Perth, Western Australia, finally the clouds unleashed. pole top fires in areas where only the tiniest droplets fell and leaking roofs and overflowing gutters where downpours hit. i collected my girls from school and took them puddle jumping. it brought some fun to my otherwise very crappy day.

Big drops of rain fall from a tree into a shallow puddle below. Sometimes when they strike the water, bubbles form.

The reflection of passers-by and a building in a puddle near the University of Bologna.
Bologna, Italy, 2018
I feel like i'm back to this place where I'm just not sure where I want to go in my PPing. At some points it's frustrating because I'll play and play and then end up just getting frustrated and not ever share or post. On the otherside I love when i get to these points. I am able to grow and learn and play and enjoy it.
So here are two plays on this image, one brown toned the other blue. just putting it out there.
A t-shirt and jeans set for Taeyang and Isul. There may be something more, but it depends on if I can squeeze them in or not.

Every guest at PUDDLE gets to choose a door prize. We line up in random order, based on numbers in the gift bags, and it's one of my favorite parts of the day as new people meet each other. In 2017, for our Tea Party, door prize choices will include rement sets from three different tea series! Mickey and Minnie, Macha, and Doraemon, all super cute!
