This week, the pleasant weather day was on a Thursday. The large puddles were left by last night's heavy rain.
More from the rainstorm yesterday. I saw this reflection in the puddle on the walkway to our house and thought it was worth sharing. I could have flipped it 180 like the reaindrop image but left it the way I saw it...
While waiting for traffic to clear on Wooster Street in Soho (NYC), there was a puddle picking up a reflection of a building across the street. Lined up Marisa and voila.
Technical: Nikon D3s with 85/1.4mm lens.
Strobist: Tried something new...had my assistant (camera left) handhold my SB-800 speedlight with the Lumiquest Softbox III, triggered my Pocket Wizard Plus III's.
A long way from journey's end and more rain on the horizon. On a muddy track somewhere between Habin, Nyewood and Trotton.
After new challenges this time of the year we get lots of mist here - This is my best effort from this difficult location to date, tide was dropping as i arrived :-) i struggle here the mist was just perfect a bit more light would have been more than welcome. Very little processing done to this image high ISO and Low Depth of field as the light was low !!

The best thing that can happen to a butterfly next to a living bouquet of flowers is a fresh puddle on a fine afternoon.
The puddle in this photo was no ordinary puddle. It was a special one, rain water flavoured with effluent from a public building nearby. You might imagine that some butterflies are too beautiful for this, but they just don't seem to care once the nutrients required for metabolism or reproduction is provided.

Reflection captured in a tiny puddle only about 1/4 inch deep and 10 inches across. I decided not to crop out the concrete at the top so that the viewer can see why the upside-down trees are not in perfect focus.
After 50 days of no rain here in Perth, Western Australia, finally the clouds unleashed. pole top fires in areas where only the tiniest droplets fell and leaking roofs and overflowing gutters where downpours hit. i collected my girls from school and took them puddle jumping. it brought some fun to my otherwise very crappy day.
I love this puddle. I never know what will appear next. This is from last night. Last night a rat half swam, half waded across. This morning a squirrel was drinking from it.

This Crow gets a drink from a parking lot puddle. Likely cleaner water at the lake less than 100 feet away.

This set will have these skirts, the boho tops with crochet straps (I still need to hand-dye them), a cardigan that I still need to make, socks, and a long necklace. I'll only have 3 sets available.
This backdrop was made by EffietheDal's father and will be at PUDDLE again this year. I hope to see lots of cute photos in it.
Giant Swallowtail hung around for about 20 minutes. This one shows a pretty good view of both sides of the wings.
