Janice and I found a lot of activity in a puddle left by the heavy rain. I thought it was ironic that aquatic birds were competing fiercely for this shallow pool of water, situated in a parking lot between two lakes.
Taken at Wisley Hothouse Surrey.
Haven't taken any pictures for a few days so going through some old stuff and found this one. Messed around with filters etc in Nik .

Sat. the 30th last day of the month for a early morning walkabout to Tanner Springs thru the Pearl District.
Carnation, WA.
Yesterday morning, as I was driving around toward some of my favorite spots in the valley, I saw this path full of puddles disappearing in the fog like a dream. I saw it for a split second right when I was driving in front of it at 55 Mph.
That is like a test for me: what I do determines how motivated I really am.
If I move on with some excuse such as "that path will be still there later" or "the light is changing so I better keep going " or “I am cold and haven’t had coffee yet”… well… I know it is going to be a very poor photography day, and I’ll end up with little in my flash card.
But yesterday was a good morning, and I was very motivated not to lose any shot. I kept going till I found a place to turn around; I backtracked, and parked on the side of the road to capture this image.
My rules is: "when you see the shot, you MUST take it immediately; no excuses!"
If I can't obey that rule, I know in my heart that I am just going out for a drive... not to do any serious photography.
With all the rain this week I wanted to take some pictures in the mud, and remembered this old rallye car from 2016.
If you look closely, you can see why I don't like stickers: the one on the bonnet is peeling off, though this car hadn't seen much action over the years.
Toy Project Day 2941
I came across this puddle about 20 minutes after watching a video on Street Photography on the Creative Live site. The photographer was in Seattle and he did a couple of these types of shots. It was fun to come across a puddle so soon after seeing that video.

This is Cole having a great time puddle jumping. What he was really focused on was getting both photographer and camera soaking wet. :-)

Most of what I came home with from PUDDLE - there may still be a few things unpacked. Tracy Hindes Mills of The Little Iron Bed generously gifted me with a tea-themed dress! Got some cute things from my table host Art Psymon, a tea tin from Crayola Bolger, a dress from Patty WellerMade, great stuff from the gift bag, a set of name badge prints from buboplague. I didn't have a chance to check the Leave Something/Take Something box until I got home - found one set of blue panties in there.
