Exeter Cathedral, properly known as the Cathedral Church of Saint Peter in Exeter, is an Anglican cathedral, and the seat of the Bishop of Exeter, in the city of Exeter, Devon, in South West England. The present building was complete by about 1400, and has several notable features, including an early set of misericords, an astronomical clock and the longest uninterrupted vaulted ceiling in England.
The founding of the cathedral at Exeter, dedicated to Saint Peter, dates from 1050, when the seat of the bishop of Devon and Cornwall was transferred from Crediton because of a fear of sea-raids. A Saxon minster already existing within the town (and dedicated to Saint Mary and Saint Peter) was used by Leofric as his seat, but services were often held out of doors, close to the site of the present cathedral building.
In 1107 William Warelwast was appointed to the see, and this was the catalyst for the building of a new cathedral in the Norman style. Its official foundation was in 1133, during Warelwast's time, but it took many more years to complete. Following the appointment of Walter Bronescombe as bishop in 1258, the building was already recognised as outmoded, and it was rebuilt in the Decorated Gothic style, following the example of Salisbury. However, much of the Norman building was kept, including the two massive square towers and part of the walls. It was constructed entirely of local stone, including Purbeck Marble. The new cathedral was complete by about 1400, apart from the addition of the chapter house and chantry chapels.
During the Second World War, Exeter was one of the targets of a German air offensive against British cities of cultural and historical importance, which became known as the "Baedeker Blitz". On 4 May 1942 an early-morning air raid took place over Exeter. The cathedral sustained a direct hit by a large high-explosive bomb on the chapel of St James, completely demolishing it. The muniment room above, three bays of the aisle and two flying buttresses were also destroyed in the blast. The medieval wooden screen opposite the chapel was smashed into many pieces by the blast, but it has been reconstructed and restored. Many of the cathedral's most important artefacts, such as the ancient glass (including the great east window), the misericords, the bishop's throne, the Exeter Book, the ancient charters (of King Athelstan and Edward the Confessor) and other precious documents from the library had been removed in anticipation of such an attack. The precious effigy of Walter Branscombe had been protected by sand bags. Subsequent repairs and the clearance of the area around the western end of the building uncovered portions of earlier structures, including remains of the Roman city and of the original Norman cathedral. Sometimes, I don't read properly or follow directions very well or think something is screwy and make it up as I go along. Everything normal here....
Saw a picture on flickr and found myself at Tranquility Dreams sim. Absolutely beautiful. Decided..."oh hey, rent a little spot, get some cool pictures and have fun decorating."
Easy, right?
Except you are me and me is not well versed in smartness. I rented all right, except I couldn't get the land into my name through my own fault, most likely.
While waiting to hear back from the landlord, I decided to take a quick snapshot or two. Hey...someone needs to occupy her time while being somewhere she may or may not belong.
(mental note: need to new poses due to mesh body--Lara from Maitreya and Logo Chloe head (where the heck are all the make up layers for this one?!) and Lelutka hair.

Here is a list of things you will need to properly care for your leopard gecko.
Enclosure
Anything from a small tank to a 3ft 6in x
6ft high stack 3 storey stack will work for leopard gecko.
The leopard gecko (Eublepharis macularius) can grow up to 12 inches, average is about 8, so you only need a relatively small enclosure for your gecko. An aquarium/vivarium about 2ft x 1ft x 1ft is suitable for a single gecko. For Housing a breeding group of leopard geckos you need about a 4ft x 2ft x 2ft that will house about 5 leopard geckos (1 male 4 female) you might be able to fit a couple more but make sure there’s plenty of hide holes so they don't get stressed out.
Heat source
Heat can be obtained by either using a heat
mat or a spot light, please try to put the heat source at one end of the tank
so that if it gets to hot the gecko has the opportunity to move away. The heat
mat can be placed under the tank at one end, if you use silver sand the sand
will hold a heat source for the gecko.
Thermometer
You will need to place a thermometer in the enclosure to gauge the temperature inside.
Substrate
Silver sand Ideally silver sand is a good
base to cover the bottom of the tank with as it will hold the heat. It costs only a few bucks. I personally prefer the 25 kg bags because you get more for your
money.
I never seem to wake properly until it's light and that's late at this time of year. Strange dreams which I can't remember except that for the last few days they have been frequented by a crocodile. It's not attacking. It's just there but I keep an eye on it. I know crocodiles are untrustworthy and can turn nasty in a moment. But I'm not afraid. Just wary. Think it must be my personal symbol for coronavirus.
When I did waken the sun was shining. The first time in nearly ten days. Got organised and took everything to the Post Office. Aghast at the cost of postage but pleased that it's all dealt with.
Afterwards I went to buy petrol. Must ask Andy to check my tyre pressures. Then I went off to find a photo. Ended up at the Hill of Tarvit where there are lots of nice trees so I was happy.
Back in time to tidy then clean and disinfect the kitchen and have a read before Julie came to cut my hair. We were chatting for ages. She's usually pretty social at Christmas but not this year. It's just going to be her and Harry. And she's not offering appointments before the middle of January for those who are having visitors over Christmas. She's making sure that she and her other customers don't get infected. She impresses me by how organised and thoughtful she is.
Once she left I did nothing much. So good to have my hair cut. It had grown pretty long and it's nice to feel tidy again.

Properly spelled kākāpō and pronounced as car car paw not kak-a-po, how many birds have a website listing the name and lineage of all of their kind? How many birds can take you across the ocean to spend just a few minutes with two boys named Sue and Nora? That is a pilgrimage. But nothing compared to the saints who keep this charismatic fat parrot alive. I can't show you a photo. That is verboten (unless you are the likes of Bill Oddie or Stephen Fry, or one who has the privilege of working on one of their island refuges) but Invercargill has a street named for them. The boys now have their own names, Matangi (who was Nora, meaning breeze, is part of the wind line and was sat on and injured by Taeatanga as a nestling on Whenua Hou), and his exhibit mate in the former brothel behind the main street of Invercargill has become Ruggedy, after the mountains. I'm so pleased I made the pilgrimage. The whole "family" is listed at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_kakapo
properly steamed rice is dry and all the grains are separate so the Koji enzymes can get to each one.
Usually I'm properly riled up within two minutes of landing on Facebook.
Between the the chronic 'Like'rs, Obama haters, gun lovers, identical picture posters, "I MIIIISSSS YOUR SMILING FACE!!!!!!" commenters, game players, awkward hashtags users, and young 20-something wisdom preachers, there's already far too much working against the platform that even a zillion adorable baby animals could make it enjoyable for me.
And this is before factoring in all all the text-speak, typos, incorrect word usage, and poor grammar.
I mean really, people, there IS a difference between their, they're, and there.
Despite the fact that Facebook makes me crazy, I do check it regularly. I have a few friends and family members that use it exclusively and FB is how I keep up with what's going on with them. There are also a few brands, communities, and SME profiles that are better suited to the stickiness of Facebook than wash-through aspect of Twitter. Still… Ugh!
I'll be the first to admit I'm far from perfect when it comes language, but hey, I try. I frequently consult dictionary.com for definition confirmation and correct spelling and I reread these posts multiple times before unleashing them into cyberspace.
Basically, I don't want to come across as an idiot. Anywhere.
If you ask the 671 people I currently follow on Twitter, they'd probably all say they don't want to seem like an idiot either. That's right, EVERY. SINGLE. ACCOUNT I follow appears to care about those 140 characters - or less - every time they hit Send on a tweet.
I don't follow the @ tweeter above but they are a Facebook friend and their content there makes me want to scream. The whining and bragging and bashing and lecturing and judging and complete lack of awareness about how pathetic they appear. Their posts look as though a 13-year-old middle school dropout without autocorrect texted them, so of course they'd speak up about grammar not mattering on Twitter.
If you ask those 671 folks in my feed about it, they'd disagree. Trust me, it doesn't have to be perfect but it matters.

I wear a bra with panties sometimes simply because it feels good to have my man-boobs properly supported, but considering how sexy I find big chested masculine guys look in bra/panties, it makes sense that I do own rather a lot of them that I like regularly wearing, It doesn't greatly faze me being totally open about wearing bra/panties, as I find it a good underwear choice that works well for me. I always wear matching panties with a bra, that way the rest of my undies complement properly, and it allows me to buy cheerful bright colourful lacy sets that look good, feel great and are a lot of fun to wear. Even though I don't often wear a bra outside the house, it doesn't greatly faze me answering the door at home in just a T-shirt, or light singlet, and undisguised full bra/panty underwear, as my experience has always been nobody gives a damn about, or even notices, my undies, so I don't get worked up about them possibly being seen, as I have yet to hear a credible reason why a guy can't wear bra/panty underwear if he wants.

Heating properly in the transitional period
Spring is unpredictable - from late snowfall to almost summery sunny days, everything is possible. The temperature differences between night and midday vary greatly. It is precisely in these transitional periods that Vitramo infrared heating makes the energy-efficient difference. In spring, the sun's rays on large window surfaces on the south side provide a sometimes considerable supply of heat in the building. Especially in low-energy to passive houses, these solar gains can provide a large part of the required heat energy. Vitramo infrared heating is the right heating system for this because it reacts quickly. If the floor heats up uncontrollably due to the low winter sun, the underfloor heating system can only adapt slowly to the changing conditions due to its inertia. A clear advantage for infrared heating.

Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec - French, 1864 - 1901
Lady with a Dog, 1891
West Building, Main Floor — Gallery 80
Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec was the only surviving son of closely related families from the provincial aristocracy of southwestern France. His father and his uncles were talented amateur artists, and Lautrec showed a keen interest and natural ability in drawing from childhood. At age thirteen he fell while getting up from a chair and broke his left femur. The following year he broke his right leg. Although it was not properly diagnosed during his lifetime, it is likely that Lautrec suffered from a bone disease (perhaps owing to the numerous consanguineous marriages in the family), and his legs stopped growing after the accidents. During his long convalescence Lautrec filled notebooks with his drawings and watercolors. His first art teacher, René Princeteau, encouraged his efforts, and Lautrec persuaded his parents to allow him to pursue further training in Paris. In 1882 he entered the atelier of Léon Bonnat, then transferred to Fernand Cormon's studio that autumn. He studied with Cormon until 1886, where he met his lifelong friends Louis Anquetin, Emile Bernard, and Vincent van Gogh.
Lautrec's work was intimately connected to the life of Montmartre from the start of his professional career. His first illustrations were published in the Montmartrois journals Le Courrier français and Le Mirliton in 1886, the same year that the Mirliton cabaret began displaying Lautrec's paintings. His work focused on the life of the butte, featuring the dance halls, circuses, cafés-concerts, and brothels that dotted the slopes of the hillside. An outgoing and social person, Lautrec befriended a heterogeneous group of Montmartre denizens, including aristocrats, streetwalkers, artists, writers, models, and cancan dancers. His portraits of his companions - often set in his studio, in neighborhood cafés, at dance halls, or at cafés-concerts - present a cross section of the population of Montmartre.
In the later 1880s Lautrec began to exhibit widely, at venues ranging from the avant-garde Les XX in Brussels to the Exposition Universelle des Arts Incohérents, the Salon des Indépendants in Paris, and the Exposition du Petit Boulevard organized by Vincent van Gogh in 1887. Vincent's brother, Theo van Gogh, began to support Lautrec's art at the gallery Boussod and Valadon in 1888, a policy continued more actively when Lautrec's childhood friend Maurice Joyant became manager following Theo's death in 1891. Lautrec created his first lithograph - the poster La Goulue: Moulin Rouge - in December 1891 and went on to design another twenty-nine posters and hundreds of prints, drawings, and paintings in the remaining ten years of his life.
In 1899, his health failing from the effects of alcoholism and syphilis, Lautrec was institutionalized for several months at an asylum near Paris, where he produced a remarkable group of drawings of the circus, drawn from memory. Soon after his release he returned to drinking, and his artistic production dropped significantly. In 1901 he suffered a stroke and died two months before his thirty-seventh birthday at his mother's estate, the Château de Malromé.

The National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC is a world-class art museum that displays one of the largest collections of masterpieces in the world including paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, sculpture, and decorative arts from the 13th century to the present. The National Gallery of Art collection includes an extensive survey of works of American, British, Italian, Flemish, Spanish, Dutch, French and German art. With its prime location on the National Mall, surrounded by the Smithsonian Institution, visitors often think that the museum is a part of the Smithsonian. It is a separate entity and is supported by a combination of private and public funds. Admission is free. The museum offers a wide range of educational programs, lectures, guided tours, films, and concerts.
The original neoclassical building, the West Building includes European (13th-early 20th century) and American (18th-early 20th century) paintings, sculptures, decorative arts, and temporary exhibitions. The National Gallery of Art was opened to the public in 1941 with funds provided by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. The original collection of masterpieces was provided by Mellon, who was the U. S. Secretary of the Treasury and ambassador to Britain in the 1930s. Mellon collected European masterpieces and many of the Gallery’s original works were once owned by Catherine II of Russia and purchased in the early 1930s by Mellon from the Hermitage Museum in Leningrad.
The core collection includes major works of art donated by Paul Mellon, Ailsa Mellon Bruce, Lessing J. Rosenwald, Samuel Henry Kress, Rush Harrison Kress, Peter Arrell Browne Widener, Joseph E. Widener, and Chester Dale. The Gallery's collection of paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, sculpture, medals, and decorative arts traces the development of Western art from the Middle Ages to the present, including the only painting by Leonardo da Vinci in the Americas and the largest mobile created by Alexander Calder.
The NGA's collection galleries and Sculpture Garden display European and American paintings, sculpture, works on paper, photographs, and decorative arts. Paintings in the permanent collection date from the Middle Ages to the present. The Italian Renaissance collection includes two panels from Duccio's Maesta, the tondo of the Adoration of the Magi by Fra Angelico and Filippo Lippi, a Botticelli work on the same subject, Giorgione's Allendale Nativity, Giovanni Bellini's The Feast of the Gods, Ginevra de' Benci (the only painting by Leonardo da Vinci in the Americas) and groups of works by Titian and Raphael.
The collections include paintings by many European masters, including a version of Saint Martin and the Beggar, by El Greco, and works by Matthias Grünewald, Cranach the Elder, Rogier van der Weyden, Albrecht Dürer, Frans Hals, Rembrandt, Johannes Vermeer, Francisco Goya, Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres, and Eugène Delacroix, among others. The collection of sculpture and decorative arts includes such works as the Chalice of Abbot Suger of St-Denis and a collection of work by Auguste Rodin and Edgar Degas. Other highlights of the permanent collection include the second of the two original sets of Thomas Cole's series of paintings titled The Voyage of Life, (the first set is at the Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute in Utica, New York) and the original version of Watson and the Shark by John Singleton Copley (two other versions are in the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and the Detroit Institute of Arts).
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Gallery_of_Art
Andrew W. Mellon, who pledged both the resources to construct the National Gallery of Art as well as his high-quality art collection, is rightly known as the founder of the gallery. But his bequest numbered less than two hundred paintings and sculptures—not nearly enough to fill the gallery’s massive rooms. This, however, was a feature, not a failure of Mellon’s vision; he anticipated that the gallery eventually would be filled not only by his own collection, but also by additional donations from other private collectors. By design, then, it was both Andrew Mellon and those who followed his lead—among them, eight men and women known as the Founding Benefactors—to whom the gallery owes its premier reputation as a national art museum. At the gallery’s opening in 1941, President Roosevelt stated, “the dedication of this Gallery to a living past, and to a greater and more richly living future, is the measure of the earnestness of our intention that the freedom of the human spirit shall go on.”

I was properly hungry after walk 73, from Colwyn Bay to Rhyl. 10.7 miles on a cool, dry day. The lull before Storm Doris!
Properly known as the Hornby Road, this long track runs for miles through the uplands of Bowland, in Lancashire. At this point it is heading just below Hard Hill Top towards Croasdale, near the head of the Whitendale River. This ancient way was once used for the packhorse transportation of salt, - hence the name.
It took hours to properly position all of these chairs under the tent.
I think Jed felt bad that I didn't have an official job for the wedding, so he and Alycia asked me to handle the chairs (they know it's something I've done many times before).
The challenge, they said, was to lay them out so everyone could see the couple, seat 120 people, and leave an aisle down the middle.
That wasn't so bad, actually. The real challenge was dealing with all of my helpers.
Off to the right, you can see my dad standing on top of a truck, hanging pine cones in a "scalloped" fashion along the edge of the tent. He didn't fall!
Shot a couple hours before the wedding.
This is how secret documents are properly handled, in a SCIF.
It is one thing that documents are intentionally taken out of the White House.
But, with the drifting of documents in Biden’s world, an authority has suggested that this may have happened before and may have happened often.
SUGGESTION.:
Lay a strip of metal film into the folder, so that a secret document can be searched for and detected in a random stack of documents.
Maybe some uncommon metal should be used so that the strips will not be confused with paper clips.
___
I would think that a person with clearance would be assigned during moving times, to be mindful of secret documents in the White House.
They should know if there are any documents that are not in a SCIF, and where they are, for example, in the Oval Office, or anywhere else in the West Wing. If any are discovered, they must be returned to a scif, immediately.
But the move must be observed, non-the-less. It is chaotic, with uncleared people stuffing boxes. Someone should stand by.
If turns out that there is no problem, the effort was surely worth their time, since lives are at stake.
___
On Jan. 13, 2023, Jeremy Bash said that there is a problem- that the handling of secret documents is due for a reform. Not all of the documents are even numbered.
___
[ My Dad had what he called “Q Clearance”, for his work on the testing of the Bomb.
I was in high school at the time. He said that the FBI followed me around a little. I suppose, very little. I was a-political, and anyway, there was no Young Communists Club in the area. ]
