My penalty for trying to surreptitiously photograph these ladies, was to be made to take it again properly. Still no smiling for the camera though!
You need red/cyan 3D glasses to properly view these pictures !
Today was a beautiful day for making big bubbles, 17 degrees Celsius and not too much wind.
I used a new kind of rope for my tri-string and also made it a bit bigger with sides of approximately 1.2 meter (4 foot). This recipe worked very well so next time I will try an even bigger tri-string.
Enjoy !

To properly measure carbon storage in a wetland, soil cores are needed for analysis. It takes an incredible amount of force to pushinto the dense peat for a legitimate representative sample. When it was my turn to try, I pushed with my entire body weight on what must have been an old buried treeand curled the serrated edge into itself. After saying they have never seen that happen before, my professors were astonished and said they were going to frame it in their office.
Opposite to the previous torn hold, there is this, properly created hole. Beyond this "gate" lies the Station House Pub.
Typical. Our photographer gets one properly exposed shot and some
bald bloke skis past and spoils it. (Note to webmaster: can you
photoshop him out, or at least give him a toupée?)
Anyway, the purpose of this picture was to reassure last week's
worried lady that Val d'Isere is healthily crowded. It's one of the
busiest weeks of the season, with most of France on holiday,
including Paris, and the resort is absolutely humming. Our
photographer reckoned queues from the nursery slopes would be
horrendous. Yet this was today, Monday 25 February, at 9.40am, peak
ski school time. There was probably a five-minute wait for the
Olympique or Solaise Express, and maybe a minute here for the
Bellevarde Express. There were five people on the Face! Val d'Isere
just doesn't get queues any more unless bad weather closes lifts or
runs.
(Apparently Courchevel has even shorter queues today, because the
lift operators and piste service are on strike, and no-one can ski at
all unless they walk up...)
How to properly lock a bike in London - and what happens when you don’t. These are pretty common sights all over London.

After being properly instructed to make matcha in Japan (thank you, Obubu Tea Farm!), these are my first attempts to make it at home. I brought back some nice matcha, and the chawans that have been patiently tolerating various teas and even non-tea foods are proving very effective & attractive for their intended use.
The mix of dried and fresh blossoms on these branches, from three species of buckwheat still in bloom, is very typical of fall in the desert.
Exeter Cathedral, properly known as the Cathedral Church of Saint Peter in Exeter, is an Anglican cathedral, and the seat of the Bishop of Exeter, in the city of Exeter, Devon, in South West England. The present building was complete by about 1400, and has several notable features, including an early set of misericords, an astronomical clock and the longest uninterrupted vaulted ceiling in England.
The founding of the cathedral at Exeter, dedicated to Saint Peter, dates from 1050, when the seat of the bishop of Devon and Cornwall was transferred from Crediton because of a fear of sea-raids. A Saxon minster already existing within the town (and dedicated to Saint Mary and Saint Peter) was used by Leofric as his seat, but services were often held out of doors, close to the site of the present cathedral building.
In 1107 William Warelwast was appointed to the see, and this was the catalyst for the building of a new cathedral in the Norman style. Its official foundation was in 1133, during Warelwast's time, but it took many more years to complete. Following the appointment of Walter Bronescombe as bishop in 1258, the building was already recognised as outmoded, and it was rebuilt in the Decorated Gothic style, following the example of Salisbury. However, much of the Norman building was kept, including the two massive square towers and part of the walls. It was constructed entirely of local stone, including Purbeck Marble. The new cathedral was complete by about 1400, apart from the addition of the chapter house and chantry chapels.
During the Second World War, Exeter was one of the targets of a German air offensive against British cities of cultural and historical importance, which became known as the "Baedeker Blitz". On 4 May 1942 an early-morning air raid took place over Exeter. The cathedral sustained a direct hit by a large high-explosive bomb on the chapel of St James, completely demolishing it. The muniment room above, three bays of the aisle and two flying buttresses were also destroyed in the blast. The medieval wooden screen opposite the chapel was smashed into many pieces by the blast, but it has been reconstructed and restored. Many of the cathedral's most important artefacts, such as the ancient glass (including the great east window), the misericords, the bishop's throne, the Exeter Book, the ancient charters (of King Athelstan and Edward the Confessor) and other precious documents from the library had been removed in anticipation of such an attack. The precious effigy of Walter Branscombe had been protected by sand bags. Subsequent repairs and the clearance of the area around the western end of the building uncovered portions of earlier structures, including remains of the Roman city and of the original Norman cathedral. Properly attired deckhands ride the bow as the Lynx makes its way toward Puget Sound. These ships had to maneuver carefully and slowly through the narrow Foss Waterway. As the channel widened, deckhands would unfurl additional sails and the speed would quicken.
The original MightyBoard died, so I replaced it with a MBot MightyBoard. However, the MBot MightyBoard wasn't flashed properly. Originally I tried programming the MightyBoard with the Adafruit USBtiny ISP.

To properly expose the sky, A two stop Graduated Neutral Density filter was used – that’s what added some of the blue to the sky. Without the filter, the sky would be overexposed and look completely white. There was another half a stop of Graduated ND filter added through Lightroom, which made the sky a little darker (It was shot in RAW, which preserved the darker tones). If there hadn’t been any filters used, The only choice would have been to shoot in brackets for HDR .

When Poms are groomed properly they say they should have "cat feet." Leo went to the groomers earlier this week and I must say, I love his little feet all groomed and clean. I never much noticed foot hair before I got him but now it's like my boys' sideburns and hair over the ears - I'm so tuned into it. I love his little feet - they're just so darn adorable and such a contrast to big sis. Couldn't resist snapping them this week. I liked this in black and white as it really showed off the blackness of the pads to full advantage.

Nill, properly Nillora Coraline Travers. (Yes, she gets a middle name. She's special.)
Filled a request to make some recolours of Aikea_Guinea's wall scrawls, then realised I needed a sim to use them. Therefore, Nill. She's basically Holly's scary evil twin, genetics-wise.
Properly lit pictures of Pete with his new Skate or Die Tattoo. I also prointed these on proper paper. The first prints I had made in almost 3 years. So they look great when looking at the orginals. Lighting was to the left a metz 45 reflected off a large silvered board and a 285 vivitar with the worst slave unit for firing randomly to the right, this was on a foil covered chair.
This brings back the love of the hasselblad, that really is a master of prescision and user ergonomics.
Aside from the obvious this could have been a pretty good picture for many adverts and things with the whole passion of lifestyle thing. Oh Well.
