Back to school/work today after a grey week off, so of course it was absolutely stunning this morning! Waah
Had to settle for some misty pink goodness out the bedroom window. Such a tease. Hope this means Autumn has finally arrived in Somerset....
Sunset reflecting off of the flood waters in Columbus, WIsconsin. We were speechless as we stood there in awe, watching.
Russian-born Clark arrived in Toronto via Paris in 1931. Having first-hand experience of the 1917 Russian Revolution, she never forgot its terrors or its utopian promise. In the year she made this work, as her h0melandd was under siege during the Second World War, she held a sale of her paintings in support o the Canadian Aid to Russia Fund. Here, she embedded the paper program form a relief concert of Russian music into the surface of her work. Her appraising gaze meets ours with wary pride.
