" Daylight took your body
Took your eyes and your army
Just vanish like a bruise
And cost you all you had to lose
Dream away, dream away
You play like none do, a game of numbers
Promises to keep as far as the eyes can reach .. "

... I've cried many rivers
I've walked through some pain
I've seen my world crumble
And I carry the shame
But I know somebody,
He calls me His own
I can hear Heaven singing out
Oh-oh-oh, you're never alone
(Oh-oh-oh, you're never alone) no, no, no, no, no
Oh, I may have took some time
But now I realize
That my imperfections were a part of Your plan
And if all things work together in the end
The broken will be beautiful...

As I prepare for Sunday services here in the small logging town where I serve as Pastor, I am reminded that even when the world seems crazy, God keeps His promises... I made this image in January near another small church a couple of hours north of me. Its not the most engaging composition, but the Rainbow and the church are the shot anyway, so it doesn't bother me.

So many people say that men and women can't be friends. I have found that to be untrue. He came into my SL then into my RL heart. Nolan, I have promised to love you, and have your back always, even when you do stupid shit! ♥

There are different varieties of tulips showing themselves in various parts of the garden. I've been assured that this particular one when it flowers, is a beauty. It's interesting being here with the garden as winter has led into spring as it gives me an opportunity to experience it firsthand rather than just photos being sent by WhatsApp as happened at this precise time last year when I became very ill with Covid when we were still living in London. To lift my spirits after the first week of being ill, my in-laws here would take photos of the flowering spring flowers and send them to me on a daily basis. Day by day, I'm recognising flowers and plants as they come into bloom.
Talking of which...tomorrow me and my partner are receiving our AstraZeneca vaccines! :-)
Thursday!!!!! So I promised a little more color in my next post and this is it!! Going to be busy over the next several days, hope to be back for a post to Sliders Sunday. However, in looking at the above, perhaps this could be good to post for "Fence Friday", Sliders Sunday, and heck even Bokeh Wednesday! A trifecta!!!
I should be able to visit to comment at least tomorrow, hope everyone has a great Thursday, Friday and even better weekend!!
An update, added it to Fence Friday group (the first post to fence friday ever) and adding it to Sliders Sunday today, and will shoot for the trifecta on Wednesday for Bokeh Wednesday.

We know rainbows for their renowned beauty and for the fact that they form when the sun hits water particles in the sky at 22 degrees usually in mid morning or late afternoon. But, there is a whole lot more to a rainbow than what many may know. It is a symbol to remind the world that God would never flood the whole earth ever again. We know the science behind a rainbow and many other natural wonders that leave us breathless. What we don't realize is that creation responds to its Creator. Rainbows form across the sky as a reminder and a promise. Winds come to a calm by a word from the mouth of Jesus. The whole Earth and everything it contains was formed by a word spoken from its Creator, the LORD of all of heaven and earth. What is so special to me about rainbows is that they truly have symbolized promises made to us and answered prayers from God. I asked for a rainbow on my engagement day and there was a rainbow, I asked for a rainbow over a lake on the day of our wedding shower and there was a rainbow over a lake on our wedding shower as a promised reminder of the covenant to come.
Doubt thou the stars are fire;
Doubt that the sun doth move;
Doubt truth to be a liar;
But never doubt I love.

As this grand old Live Oak tree reaches for the sky, the eruption of new growth at it’s extremities fulfills the promise of life that comes with each spring.
From the days when Ellesmere Port was receiving shiploads of coal for onward transport to Fiddlers Ferry Power Station, a Freightliner class 70, unit 70002, powers up the bank towards the little used Ince & Elton station hauling a rake of empty hoppers seeking out a refill of the black stuff.
The train is the 7.26am Fiddlers Ferry PS - Ellesmere Port Manisty Wharf (4F02) and, at just after 8am on a September morning, it's seemingly coming almost directly out of the sun. The train was scheduled to return some four hours later, fully loaded, under the headcode 6F02.
Sadly for the enthusiast this freight flow has long since ceased to operate, and of course Fiddlers Ferry PS is no longer operational either having closed in 2020.
Ince & Elton station (from where I took the shot) hardly fares any better - it currently sees just two passengers trains per day: the 6.03am to Ellesmere Port, and the 6.25am to Leeds. Little point in buying a Day Return ticket then.
The shot replaces an upload of a few years ago with this more artistic interpretation.

Many thanks to Mike for sharing his lovely Tulips:
www.flickr.com/photos/140358432@N08/52895656079/in/datepo.... The two young women were created in DDG Text 2 Dream using Mike's photo as the source and with the prompt: Promises. I cut them out of the DDG work and laid it on top of Mike's photo. All blending and processing was done in Photoshop Beta 2023 and Topaz Studio.
Thanks for your visit, faves, and kind comments.

and something to think about:
The rainbow that I have put in the sky will be my sign to you and to every living creature on earth. It will remind you that I will keep this promise forever. -Genesis 9: 12,13.
Many thanks to all those who view, fav or comment my pictures. I very much appreciate it.
Of Things Yet To Be.
My little bit of creative work with the spring blossom as it's to cold to go outside today, winter has returned.
There are many people sadly who have forgotten the true meaning of the rainbow beautifully painted across the sky. It is not first a symbol of gay rights and pride as many think, but it was a promise from God that He would never destroy the earth by flood ever again. It is a testimony of His love, faithfulness, and His perfect covenant. Every time that we see this beautiful symbol in the sky it is a reminder of God's promises!
