My wife tells me there is something special about 3am. For lack of myself I honestly can’t recall exactly what it was at the moment, I’m just glad I wasn’t scheduled to work the bays this morning. For me I suppose there is something special about that particular hour thou. Even surrounded by my kin in this little house of ours, at 3am I am very alone. Free to my thoughts, and my drives. There is clarity in that hour. Whether or not that is a good thing often depends on what the thoughts are that keep me awake. Tonight. I suppose tonight I was contemplating just about everything.
This decade has been one hell of a roller coaster ride, hasn’t it. Come to think of it, this year alone has been something of an aw inspiring “what the f***?” for me. It’s end drawing near, this year delivered nothing short of a prodigiously epic and adverse grand finale. I’d started right out of the gate with Marley’s distressing arrival last January, and I’ve been going full tilt ever since. There had been my original 365 challenge. I’d finished up last April having only missed three days in all. A small accomplishment, but an accomplishment none the less. I’ve reunited with old friends I thought I would never hear from again, said good bye to others and written the final bitter chapter of my life revolving around my oldest daughters estranged biological mother. After working on it nearly half my life I finally finished Syndicate, and now it would seem in a sense I have to rewrite the entire thing over again. Not a bad thought there. Nope. Once I’ve acquainted myself with the terrain, it’s going to be written into a grid script format, so it can be produced into a graphic novel series. Yeah, you read that right. I’ve partnered up with a small local company that is taking Syndicate public. There interest in seeing FOF, as well. I don’t mind saying I’m very excited about that…If I ever finish it. And after waiting six years ANR’s, one and only professionally recorded album is finally reaching completion. The album will never go public, but none of us have ever felt right about just walking away from the project after putting as much time, effort, energy, and money into it as we did. The mastering should be completed within the next week. Something I’ll undoubtedly be sharing here once I have it in hand.
A vast unexplored and often unfriendly sea we’ve traveled this year, filled with mind boggling ups and soul stirring lows. I feel that I’ve not only learned a great deal about myself, but in many aspects I’ve grown a great deal as well. It has most certainly been a year I will never forget.

I walked to the park then on to the Victoria and Albert Museum. The V&A is one of my 'happy places'. I looked at the clothing collection, had a nice meal, then went back to my hotel to change before going to the Adelphi Theatre to see Kinky Boots the Musical.

This shot looks better on black. Flickr also seems to have removed some of the sepia from the photo. Go figure!
My goal for this picture was to do a profile shot - like Karsh was known for. I fought with trying to reduce the light on the face to just a mere line. I think I need barn doors for this.
To camera left is an Elinchrom BXRi 500 with a 10° grid to help focus the light. I have also put up a couple of GOBO's to block the light from hitting the background and to help reduce the light further. I have a black reflector (or is that absorber?) to camera right and a black background behind the subject.
For something that was going to be a "quick" shot it took way longer than I had planned for.
It's now complete..............well as far as I am concerned. It still looks a bit sterile in places, but I think I will call it a day. Question to myself, do I attempt to recreate the same place in the late 70s ?..........answer, probably not.

This nest is small, no more than 3-4 inches across. I walked within a few feet of it and never saw it while the leaves were on the trees last summer. The nest builder wasn't opposed to a bit of man-made material.
Now that the inside of the house is 95% done, we've been working on the outside. We did most of the hardscaping and rock last summer but we've done a lot of planting, mulching and cosmetic stuff this summer.
i have my new addiction, Starbucks Tazo Passion tea...*drools*...plus it's a pretty color...i need more pretty colored drinks added to my day...
Haven't had much time to take pictures, quickly took this one last night. Old milk cans and an old tea pot, I love old things.
Some days, I'm really not to keen on the way things operate round about these parts. Especially on the other side of the freeway. It's as timeless a story as any. Wait until the last minute to drop everything one us.

Instead of having a figure painting on a wall of patches and graffiti, I decided to go with a cleaner and more simple design. I struggled with fitting in all the concepts but I like the start of this and feel like I could push it a bit further. For my three media I used painting/drawing, digital, found texture.
The Eden Project is a visitor attraction in the United Kingdom, including the world's largest greenhouse.
Inside the artificial biomes are plants that are collected from all around the world. The project is located in a reclaimed Kaolinite pit, located 2 kilometers (1.25 mi) from the town of St Blazey and 5 kilometres (3 mi) from the larger town of St Austell, Cornwall.
The complex is dominated by two enclosures consisting of adjoining domes that house plant species from around the world. Each enclosure emulates a natural biome. The domes consist of hundreds of hexagonal and pentagonal, inflated, plastic cells supported by steel frames. The first dome emulates a tropical environment, and the second a Mediterranean environment.
The project was conceived by Tim Smit and designed by architect Nicholas Grimshaw and engineering firm Anthony Hunt and Associates (now part of Sinclair Knight Merz). Davis Langdon carried out the project management, Sir Robert McAlpine and Alfred McAlpine did the construction and MERO designed and built the biomes. Land Use Consultants led the masterplan and landscape design. The project took 2½ years to construct and opened to the public on 17 March 2001.

This day was great! You know those days when you wake up knowing your going to have a great day? I had one of those, I got up early in the morning and decided to walk to work today. I was so trigger happy with my camera, taking photos left and right. I got so many photos and so many that I wanted to put up today! So going through them, editing was so hard. I got down to about ten photos then knocked that down to about four then final choose this image.
So how did this photo come into being? Well this photo was taken late at night, I was in a great mood so I stayed around town till the sun went down. As I was walking around High street in Auckland I was passing a food stall. I noticed two people ordering food from it. I loved how the stall light up the subjects ordering food, while there surroundings are darkened but the night, the only thing that light up the street was artificial light.
