I'm told that some people get a Buzz from smoking so,

If you must smoke, take your butt outside.

~Author Unknown~

I wanted to do a toy shot like I've seen so many times here on Flickr & the sun was in the perfect spot on the back porch so I didn't need the whole light setting get up to do this.

Grabbed Buzz took two shots when I noticed Jeff's cousin Greg smoking a cigarette, he was about done so I say hey you don't need that but I need the element for my Project50 shot, so I relieved him of his filthy cancer stick & sort of gave Buzz a Hott foot, lol.

My shot was done, I was happy & now I feel even better because I can sort of say I struck a blow for Breast Cancer, well cancer period, I even put the butt out, lol.

Hmmm EspressoDoms, Ainsley Joseph, David Dahlin, Isayx3, Grizzly D & some others I can't recall do these type's of shots & I admire there work

Dave was particularly excited for this one as he's waited a long time for these to grow. Carrot soup for dinner tonight!

When I saw this I thought of a friend

Artistpraveen, he has some fabulous work check him out sometime.

Link to his page is here www.flickr.com/photos/artistpraveen/

Many photographers & subjects fascinate me, so he is just one of many!

Keep watching.

This time of year, I suppose that's true. Went for a pretty brief walk tonight with a fellow photog from the 'ville. Only the second person I'd met from Flickr. Probably due in part that I don't typically meet random people very often and also because there aren't too many Evansville people that make their way onto Flickr very often.

Regardless, it was a great afternoon for a walk and there was a few instances where the light was pretty much perfect on a perfect evening. Glad to be in a position to take advantage.

Now, since the editing is done and I'm about to head off to the couch, all I have in my mind is finishing the backlogged season premier of "The Walking Dad. If you haven't watched it before, I highly recommend it.

That's right, a ninja enjoys watching zombies. A match made in heaven right?

I did a photoshoot with Brandi, Jordans Mom, the whole time she kept telling me how she wanted to hide her stomach how she thinks she needs to loose weight!

I say she looks damn good just the way she is, but if she wants to make changes go for it.

This tribute is to my friend Psoup216 he always does these kinds of shot's & I have always admired his work! So here's to you Pete, you have been quite the inspiration to me since I joined Flickr & found your work...

4 months later...

This is one of two photos from my 365 project I had left to edit and upload. I was just putting this one off because it was 6 separate photos, and at the time I was taking them, the batteries in my flash were on the fritz and wouldn't keep a consistent output. Every photo from that shoot had different lighting, and because of that the motivation wasn't there, but now, I'm craving it! More and more I want to use my camera again, but I just had to do this first, and let me tell you, putting this up makes me feel like I've accomplished quite a bit!

This was back in October when I was feeling super anxious to get snowboarding, hence the pants. Yes, I have quite a few... and only one pair here doesn't actually belong to me, and are actually my boyfriends... *cough*pinkones*cough*.. haha ohhhh I'm so happy to be back on the snow, and back on Flickr too.

And on another note... Might start my Project 50? ie, 50 days with 50mm :D

Well there are only two days left to this project, can't believe I uploaded a shot close to everyday!

Oh I shoot on the daily, but very lazy on the uploading, lol.

Tonight, the weather was looking kind of bad to go out and shoot on the street some, like I typically do. I decided to stay in with the wife (who has to get up at 3am to drive for 4 hours in the morning).

I haven't done a splash shot in a while and they're pretty entertaining to do so we decided to knock one out real quick. The whole experience reminded me of Rick Nunn and his rockin first Project 50. It was that first project of his and, to a slightly greater extent, the infamous project 365 from Dustin Diaz that got me more and more interested in elements of photography that I use every day. So, it just seemed fitting to call this the tribute sploosh.

This should hold me over on making serious messes that involve throwing away 15 feet of savage backdrops away as well...lol

I'd been wanting to do one of these for a while. Nothing too incredibly original as we all know but I really wanted to give the editing a go.

Now that my first one is under my belt, I still have a few little quirks that I'd like to smooth out the next time I apply the composite processing next. Overall, I think it was a lot easier than I had anticipated honestly. Sure, there a place on her dress where you can tell something unnatural is going on, but not to the extent that I didn't think it was an interesting shot. It probably stands our more for me because I know what I did to make this image?

Big thanks to Jenna for helping me out with this one today and also pointing out what poison ivy looks like BEFORE one steps on it (which is by FAR the best time to hear it apparently). I've lived a sheltered existance where I honestly didn't know what PI looked like. Learned two things today I suppose.

I finished the project! I'm very happy, that I started it. Every pictures have it's own story, and I began braver, and more self-confident. I knew my objective better, I will use more times!!

It never fails. The last couple days I've been swamped so I've only had one single opportunity to sit with the new Pixel Kings and that was for a total of maybe 10 minutes.

Tonight I had high hopes to get them out and put them through the paces, something I really can't and don't want to do anywhere but in the environment I enjoy to shoot in the most....anywhere outdoors.

A storm hits. It's early though right? Sure, this won't be a problem (inner monologue). Stops all the thunder, lightning and intense rain so I head out.

Well, then comes round 2 and it starts all over. Now acknowledging that all hope is lost, I snapped a few shots from the front seat of my far while I hoped for a gap in the rain....which never came.

Weren't we in a friggin drought?

I was heavily inspired by Rick Nunn's absolutely stunning Project50. I have been for a couple months now, and I've been dying to do something like it... and since I just got an amazing 85mm f/1.4, I figured I'd put it to some use. Besides, it gives me a personal outlet this fall while I'm slammed busy with client shoots.

Halfway point. Seems like it's been going pretty quickly actually. I was out a little later than typical shooting tonight. While I wasn't particularly interested in going out to shoot, there really wasn't much I could think of to shoot without leaving the house...haha

I stumbled on this one while I was looking for something else. I just saw the flash of green light that clashed with the surroundings on this railing. The light was coming from a closed storefront and just looked cool off the railing (what doesn't right?).

When I'm stuck a day

That's gray,

And lonely,

I just stick out my chin

And Grin,

And Say,

Oh!

The sun'll come out

So ya gotta hang on

Come what may

Today, I spent mostly editing images. I have a Monday deadline for a session I did earlier in the week and a modeling session tomorrow afternoon. All this made it nice to get out of the house with some awesome weather.

My flight instructor is also getting more heavily into amateur photography so I offered to show him a few tricks on a photo walk. Again, the weather was awesome so we headed out. The wife got off work and met up with us (she's flown with me so they know each other).

After bitching about how the airplane we fly has been down for maintenance for the last 6 weeks, I volunteered him as a human light stand to show him some strobist stuff. Unfortunately, all my diffusers and lightstands were a pretty far walk from where we were. Humans work best anyway don't they? It's also fun to find something to naturally diffuse your flashes. Working with what you have sometimes makes for a cool shot.

ONE TIN SOLDIER

(The Legend of Billy Jack)

words and music by Dennis Lambert and Brian Potter

Copyright © 1969 by ABC / Dunhill Music, Inc.

Listen children to a story that was written long ago

'bout a kingdom on a mountain and the valley folk below.

On the mountain was a treasure buried deep beneath a stone,

and the valley people swore they'd have it for their very own.

Go ahead and hate your neighbor, go ahead and cheat a friend.

Do it in the name of heaven, justify it in the end.

There won't be any trumpets blowin' come the judgment day

on the bloody morning after one tin soldier rides away.

So the people of the valley sent a message up the hill

asking for the buried treasure, tons of gold for which they'd kill.

Came an answer from the kingdom: "With our brothers we will share

all the secrets of our mountain, all the riches buried there."

Go ahead and hate your neighbor, go ahead and cheat a friend.

Do it in the name of heaven, justify it in the end.

There won't be any trumpets blowin' come the judgment day

on the bloody morning after one tin soldier rides away.

Now the valley cried with anger; mount your horses, draw your sword,

and they killed the mountain people, so they won their just reward.

Now they stood beside the treasure on the mountain, dark and red,

turned the stone and looked beneath it. "Peace on earth" was all it said.

Go ahead and hate your neighbor, go ahead and cheat a friend.

Do it in the name of heaven, justify it in the end.

There won't be any trumpets blowin' come the judgment day

on the bloody morning after one tin soldier rides away.

Well, the leaves are changing and there's no denying that fall has arrived and winter will be fresh in its heals.

I guess I'll jump on the wagon with some leaves in the stream. Not too much going on yesterday photog related so this is about what you could get out of me.

Some big changes on the website underway though so hopefully I'll be able to get that news out soon (once it is live again).

Well, I suppose that was fun...haha Not as much as I'd hoped, but I really got swamped with life towards the end of that project.

I'm glad I did it though as I learned a lot about my 50...and I thought I had that beast nailed down.

On a totally different note, I had a new piece of glass drop in tonight. My new EF 35mm f/1.4L USM arrived. Can't wait to put down the 50 and see the world anew!

And yes, I truly was dropping it...to a person...laying on pillows....lots of pillows.... So, the cool thing is that motion blur is 4 real ;)
