The current City Hall building is a near-50-year-old structure that has served the city well but, in its current state, is functionally obsolete. Built in 1969, the current City Hall requires major renovations that are complicated by the presence of friable asbestos and the way the electrical and mechanical systems were installed.
On October 3, 2017, Virginia Beach city council unanimously approved a resolution to proceed with the design of a new city hall building. The new three-story structure adjacent to the current city hall, between Buildings 1 and 2, is under construction and progressing well.

This part of the grid used larger insulators then the typical poles in the utility. I think the large pylere post insulators were used to protect salt deposits carried by the wind from the nearby ocean.

Finishing is continuing on the rehabbed Atkins tote. Slapped it on the saw tonight to see how it looks and feels. Not sure which tote I prefer now. Going to reshape the one I made (the open tote in the photo) and see if it helps.

I am following a vintage pattern for this dress. This is the yoke, the sleeves and skirt are knit to the yoke. This section will be smocked. Should I block this section before smocking? It is supposed to draw in some with the smocking. There are no blocking directions in the pattern. I know the skirt and sleeves will need blocking to show the lace pattern.

I wonked up the 'E' placement, but didn't notice til I compared it to the photo of the logo. This one is mine anyway, so who cares!
today I shaped hind legs a bit more, and trimmed off the jacket - first cut.
I feel more and more confident :) Fresh brushing is off - Poodles had a little play-fight.
2 more windows to go. i gathered up the area where the ruching will be just to get a sense of what kind of embellishment to do in that area. lots more stitching to be done on this piece.

I do not know anything about home remodeling and have learned a lot so far, fish for a person and they eat for a day, teach a person to fish and they will eat fish for three days and then hire someone to fish.
Spray Pad installation in Hermance Park in Bristol Museum (behind Elkhart County Historical Museum) progress to date as of 8-31-12. Bill Smith of Rec Source Aquatics met with Park Board President Linda Powell, Town Board President Floyd Lynch, and Kinder Contractor Cliff to discuss progress on the new spray pad, which they hope to have up and running in the next few weeks in time to catch a few mild days yet this season.
