I feel like we have a lot of personality going on but I like that when decorating cause I feel like it’s not only about putting things together to fit a certain aesthetic but to also give it some touches that reflect who you are Full picture available in Flickr: Eixu

Like millions of others, I spent the afternoon waiting to see America's first manned spaceflight mission in nine years.
Unfortunately it was scrubbed because of weather but it was still awesome to see so many others get excited for the event.

Until the 1970s, the zinc smelter at Odda, Norway, on the shores of the Sørfjorden fjord, discharged industrial wastewater into the fjord, making it one of the most heavily metal-contaminated marine environments in the world.
After a decades-long clean-up, the fjord is back to pre-industrial conditions. Part of the smelter is now a museum, the rest demolished or left.

The first floor of the brocante is close to being finished. Added ceiling trim, baseboards, some shelves and "foo foo" for lack of a better word, over the windows.
I went to Hobby Lobby Saturday and hopefully got enough stuff to keep me busy while I hide from the virus. It's in our tiny town and the town over...can you believe that? Krissy got really sick suddenly over the weekend and I took her to the ER thinking she had pneumonia. They said it's a virus, but not THE virus. Indiana was slow to get the testing kits. They did not test her but said her symptoms didn't fit. I hope everyone is staying healthy!
I’ve been missing in action for a few weeks on Flickr - and this why. Making the most of our winter cooler weather to build new gardens and do some landscaping. It’s coming together…

I happened to be passing through Winnemucca, Nevada during their Music and Murals festival, 2025. I was disappointed that I was unable to stay until this piece was finished. I also was able to find a sign or any indication of attribution.
I know that there's a lot wrong with this, hence I need to go back and hence work in progress. But I liked the elderly gentleman and that his red clothes matched the shutters
I'm trying to get as many pictures of the few remaining old barns, sheds, and structures in Kernersville. Many new businesses are springing up rather quickly and places like this are being quietly destroyed in the name of progress.
The old Works Progress Administration (WPA) grottos built in the 1920s and 1930s were redesigned to house several large birds including the cinereous vulture and the Andean condor.
A visit to the OKC Zoo just prior to them closing their doors due to cold temperatures and freezing conditions.
Thanks to Redsbi Skeet’s connections, Odge had a much easier time finding the pieces needed to finish his ship.
After they attached the E-Wing engines and modified some T-70 wings, Odge worked on adding some safety protocols while TC-33 gave the craft some colours and custom markings.

The first floor of the new dollhouse is complete. I LOVE the way I managed the recess lighting and it looks exactly as I imagined. The black walls with gray ceiling and gray-washed inlaid floor creates a sleek polished look. There is dust everywhere from sanding the floors, but once I’m finished completely, it will get a thorough cleaning before the furnishings go in. I’ll start the second floor in a few days and I imagine it will go faster from there.
Still not saying what it is yet….
The McDermott Motors Building (seen in the photograph above) was built in 1928, and designed in the Spanish Colonial Revival style by noted Waco architect Milton Scott. The building has served as an upscale automobile dealership, a National Guard Armory, and an assembly plant for warplanes during World War II. The building also embodies a method of construction and an architectural style that are distinctive of an era, reflecting the community, its economic climate and progress. As McDermott Motors (opened as a new building on November 1, 1928), Fort Fiske Wright (leased from McDermott in 1931 as the National Guard Armory until all units were activated for WWII in 1941 and named for a revered local officer who had died a hero's death on the battlefields of France during the Great War, and North American Aviation (leased in 1943 to aid in production of the B-24 "Liberator", sometimes known not so affectionately as the "Flying Boxcar", making it the site of one of Waco's most significant contributions to the country's industrial war machine), activities at this site contributed substantially to the commercial and military history of this area of Waco, Texas.
After the most noteable tenants as described above, this building was once again used as an automobile dealership selling Plymouths and DeSotos, Hill Printing and Stationery which kept arge printing presses and bookbinders upstairs while maintaining a showroom of
office supplies and commercial furniture downstairs, and a brief period as an outlet for unclaimed and damaged freight after the very destructive tornado of 1953. McDermott's building then languished vacant for nearly 20 years until it was finally sold to Homer Owen who soon opened "Rhema The Way", which manufactured and distributed 'inspirational gift items' for gift shops, department stores and religious bookstores. This business remained in the building through a couple of ownership's until 1988 when it became Caritas of Waco, a new local second-hand store. During the night of April 10, 2000, a very destructive fire engulfed the thrift shop and ended its time in the building. Since that time (2001), the building underwent renovation and today serves as the home of Hole in the Wall, a full-service printing, apparel and marketing company.
The McDermott Motors Building was nominated for and listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) on January 14, 2004 under criterion A in the areas of Commerce and Military, and under criterion C in the area of Architecture, at the local level of significance. All of the information above (and much more) was found on the original documents submitted for listing consideration that can be viewed here:
