progress for a swap i?ve joined at DOA

progressing...

Still lots to do, I'm getting there slowly!

A long day....made all the worse by being hungover and having literally an hour's sleep. But we ploughed on, helped by the hair of the dog.

I've got to start taking photos when I arrive, not when I leave, the light has all but gone.

The 'stamp of civilisation' on nature's unsuspecting victim...

hi ya'll. as most of you know i was in recovery in my eating disorder. i wanted to make bad body image and self hatred come to life in a photo because it's so important in real life.

During the month of November I've had a collection of work up at Progress and this event is a bit of a closing party.

Well, they put on the tar paper and have wrapped the house today. Got a call from the Project Manager today and he said that windows will be delivered and hopefully installed on Monday! We're getting closer!!!

Well I have made some progress. All my sewing/fabric things are in the sewing room and unpacked ( well from boxes not yet from the plastic containers) On the list to do:

1.Paint room

2.Buy a table so I can sew and cut fabric

3.Organize stash

I know it's only been ten days since the last one I posted, but this one is actually on time (well, only 3 days late) whereas the last one was three months late. The last 10 days have seen a fair amount of plane work, despite me being in Alabama for half of it.

Wrapped up both of the main wing spars and both leading edges (the landing light lens for the right wing still needs a bit of work). Also got the aileron skin stiffeners riveted on, so they're green as well.

Parts shown here in green are complete, yellow are awaiting some final riveting or blending tasks, orange are awaiting primer, and red are works in progress. Uncolored parts haven't yet been worked on.

The laminate has cured and the peel ply cloth is still in place. The yellow tape seen here is mostly for keeping the plywood plate steady. Some of it is for masking purposes, too.

I had more masking tape in place while applying the resin and cloth, but I removed most of it immediately after I had finished the laminating.

I bought Creatively Dyed roving at Rhinebeck in 2008, I didn't realize it was superwash wool. I don't spin & I couldn't use the roving for felting (cuz it was superwash) So, last year, I brought the roving with me when I visited Inger www.flickr.com/photos/ingermaaike2/ in Norway. I planned to give it to her as a gift. But, she decided to spin it for me. Now, it's time has come to be used:-)!

There`s kind of a joke (or is it a joke?) in Serbia which says: "Seven is watching while one is working". So, here, I can proudly declare, that these times are behind us. As we are approaching toward EU, we are constantly improving ourselves.

It`s today: "Seven is watching while two is working". Wow, TWO! (bre)

Ivy is progressing nicely - Her wings are almost stitched and I've done most of the beading on the skirt of her dress. She needs some legs though! I think she should be done in a couple of weeks.

We've abandoned the stuffing in favor of styrofoam forms, so these spheres will not be used.
