I feel like Flickr has become my in progress depot. I swear there should/will/are more FINISHED things coming soon. In the meantime though I'm playing with a design for Threadless. Here it be. Still have a lot of patterns to draw and things to color in, but you can kind of see where the body is I think. This sucker is big, I figure he'd ride low on the belly?
Are these colors working? Should I color the lines of the pompadourmane? Who knows. I am not 100% sold yet. That's what I get for deciding on lavender for a challenge!
There will also be scuffle clouds in the background I think, in white and the two purples. Possibly w/halftones if I figure those out.

The road is a bit of a problem - my fault for changing the way it goes w.r.t. reality. I'm hoping the dense trees will add verticality and interest to the flattish bit behind the road against the backscene.
Touching wood, crossing fingers and all that sort of stuff but it looks like wee Skye might finally have turned a corner with her elbow injury (almost four months down the line from when it happened)...
Not seen any sign of her limp for a good twelve days now, after her visit to Glasgow Vet School and she is walking a lot better now. Gradually extending her walks and she's coping OK with it so far (she's desperate to get off lead). So, here's hoping!
A house now stands in lieu of this view. Although it was bound to happen, realizing this view no longer exists had me searching my catalog for another of its images.
Exposed with the 5d (classic) and the Canon 16-35 f/2.8L. I still have the 5D, but not the 16-35 f/2.8. Really like the natural vignette on this one, too.
The deadline for my final paper is coming closer and closer. I have to hand it in on Tuesday. There is still a lot of work to do.

Progress on my #impromptualong quilt. Yes, I'm a slacker and this has been in the UFO pile for like a year.
No difference here since last month, which is not to say that nothing has happened. The most interesting work in the last month centered around the pitot tube, which is not part of the stock plans and thus does not appear in this diagram. The rest of the work involves dimpling and deburring wing ribs and skins, which haven't led to any color changes here. LOTS of holes to work in the wings...
Parts shown here in green are complete, yellow are awaiting some final riveting or blending tasks, orange are awaiting primer, and red are works in progress. Uncolored parts haven't yet been worked on.
One of the photos for the Monthly Scavenger Hunt is something unfinished. This photo has 2 things that are unfinished. "Bossypants" is so funny, I don't want to finish it & have it be over. On the otherhand (no pun intended) I am so ready for the wristwarmers to be complete.

scene from the "Carousel of Progress" in Tomorrowland. This ride was originally at Disneyland, but was moved to Florida when "America Sings" was put in that building.
Taken after today's stage ended in Barcelona.
This is the center panel, for which I am using the same mountain-peaks motif I designed for my gansey last year. It's surrounded by a pine-tree motif.
From early rail tracks to today’s cars, The Lesner Bridge has been a major factor in transportation for the northern part of the city. The current renovation to the bridge is well underway and progressing well, all while keeping this important artery open.

Every day I ride the Brown Line and pass the Spirit of Progress statue in the distance, atop the Montgomery Ward & Co. administration building. I've vowed to get a photo of it, and today I finally got off at the Chicago Avenue station to get the shot.
Ward built his phenomenally successful catalog business here in Chicago. We Chicagoans have Ward to thank for the only uncluttered lake front of any Great Lakes' city. Ward tirelessly fought with politicians and builders to keep the parks and beaches undeveloped. The fight continues without him to this day, with the current brouhaha over the proposed move of the Children's Museum to the edge of Grant Park [resolved in the park's favor in 2012].
Almost all Montgomery Wards buildings incorporated a version of the Spirit of Progress (often a relief carved into the building, rather than a statue), holding her torch and sword. This statue, modeled on one by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, stands 22.5 feet tall, atop a 4 story tower, which, in turn, sits on the eight story Wards administration building. The building was designed by Hugh Garden, and completed in 1908 (the tower was added in 1929
Wendy's fire pit is coming along. She just realized it could be two
weeks of labor to finish it. Today she dug out a 1/4 of the circle to
a depth of 2". She also sifted the gravel from the sand using a make-
shift window screen setup.
I am in the process of doing some house painting. But no, this is not my house. Perhaps I should take this one as inspiration and be more uninhibited ... or something.
