Happy Bench Monday! This bench overlooks the small lake at Progress Ridge Townsquare in SW Beaverton, Oregon
"Poetry and progress are like two ambitious men who hate one another with an instinctive hatred, and when they meet upon the same road, one of them has to give place.”
~ Charles Baudelaire
...because we as humans, especially americans, are at the forefront and always moving forward!
right?
(sometimes i wonder)
Like millions of others, I spent the afternoon waiting to see America's first manned spaceflight mission in nine years.
Unfortunately it was scrubbed because of weather but it was still awesome to see so many others get excited for the event.

thought i would update you on the status of the barn slump since it's been a while. this former edifice is not so much abandoned as it is neglected. and i think looks more so with the foliage than in B&W, actually.

Keller Farm, Plainfield, Illinois. To paraphrase Bob Dylan "..not gonna work on Keller's farm no more".
Another attempt at a wide screen picture. I must say that the quality of this picture is surprisingly better than the Fuji XT30 Mark 11 I used last week. I do not know if it is the quality of the lens or the camera sensor but it is a surprise.
Amaryllis bud making progress toward it's hopeful full flower date sometime around Christmas. I plan to post a photo of that flower when it does appear.
Well... she wasn't supposed to look so young, she will appear "older" depending on your enb and lighting conditions. I am so bad at creating mature characters :(
Since I haven't been able to give her a custom voice despite all the times I tried, I have decided to give her her own little home where she can be found!

Hana and Archie on the refrigerator, making sure we are making sufficient progress to goal. If only they would let us know what the goal is...

Made a little progress on my Gloria living room repaint. I filled gaps with white glue, let it dry (took 2 applications = 2 days), spray painted it, and applied 2 coats of dark gray chalk paint to the upholstery area. Still more to do, but at least I got a little crafting in the past few days. Plan to lighten up the upholstery with a thin application of chalk paint (winter white? Light gray?) and shabby up the other part with something. Creme wax tinted white? Tinted gray? Brown wax? Don't know, yet.
We have taller buildings but shorter tempers; wider freeways but narrower viewpoints; we spend more but have less; we buy more but enjoy it less; we have bigger houses and smaller families; more conveniences, yet less time; we have more degrees but less sense; more knowledge but less judgment; more experts, yet more problems; we have more gadgets but less satisfaction; more medicine, yet less wellness; we take more vitamins but see fewer results. We drink too much; smoke too much; spend too recklessly; laugh too little; drive too fast, get too angry quickly; stay up too late; get up too tired; read too seldom; watch TV too much and pray too seldom. We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values; we fly in faster planes to arrive there quicker, to do less and return sooner; we sign more contracts only to realize fewer profits; we talk too much; love too seldom, and lie too often. We’ve learned how to make a living, but not a life; we’ve added years to life, not life to years.
Philip Yancey
I have had a constructive day.
Partner I do have to apologise though, as your tote is slightly under-size, otherwise your geese would have gone array!
The first floor of the new dollhouse is complete. I LOVE the way I managed the recess lighting and it looks exactly as I imagined. The black walls with gray ceiling and gray-washed inlaid floor creates a sleek polished look. There is dust everywhere from sanding the floors, but once I’m finished completely, it will get a thorough cleaning before the furnishings go in. I’ll start the second floor in a few days and I imagine it will go faster from there.
Still not saying what it is yet….
