Setting sun on the remaining trees discloses what the powers call progress. This is clearing for a road that borders a large park in the city of Wasilla, Alaska. The clearing cuts off a number of trails where I walked the dogs and was amazed that we had such a place in a densely populated area. Soon to be a paved road with traffic zooming by and new housing developments. The price for progress in a rapidly growing area. I guess we should enjoy what we have while we can as there is no going back. Sorry to rant and thanks for your visit!
I actually liked the hut better last year when it was still really old and rickety (see pic in first comment). But it probably wasn't very safe any more... When you cross the small bridge to the left, you will reach Lake Langsee (2.384 m) and then continue up into the mountains. Our way down leads straight ahead.☀️ Have a fantastic and peaceful Travel Tuesday everybody ☀️

Maybe wider by the minute . . . We knew when we rescued her that it was likely kittens were on the way. Holly is thriving and very happy to be safe here with us! We love her and can manage whatever comes! ❤️

From this location, one can see a side of the Colosseum that has undergone the face-lift, right next to a portion that still remains untouched. The Roman forum is also visible in the far background.

Work continues on the Norfolk Southern Pittsburgh Line installing Positive Train Control equipment, including new signal bridges at control points like the one here at Duncannon. Train 60N is rolling west under the new and old with the Norfolk and Western heritage unit leading a train of Russian steel slabs.
Work is still progressing west, with new equipment showing up periodically for installation and the technology is already in use on the nearby Lurgan Branch. The time of the classic Pennsylvania Railroad position light signal is rapidly winding down.

Like millions of others, I spent the afternoon waiting to see America's first manned spaceflight mission in nine years.
Unfortunately it was scrubbed because of weather but it was still awesome to see so many others get excited for the event.
NASA and SpaceX will be retrying on Saturday:
May 30th at 3:22 PM EST.
I know many people may feel disappointed but this is going to happen. Have faith and a great week!
