Finally remembered my sketch. The spot was pretty long so I stretched it out just so.
This was a nice day in Lafayette, Indiana. The locals tell us this is the first legal wall in town and according to public reaction, it's obvious.

I don't know how I came to lose the ring from around its equator but you now have to catch it before the spinning disc touches anything because it launches itself across the room!
A long day....made all the worse by being hungover and having literally an hour's sleep. But we ploughed on, helped by the hair of the dog.
From early rail tracks to today’s cars, The Lesner Bridge has been a major factor in transportation for the northern part of the city. The current renovation to the bridge is well underway and progressing well, all while keeping this important artery open.

'Seatruck Progress' is one of a fleet of similar vessels which operate a Ro-Ro freight service in the Irish Sea. Here she leaves Langton Lock, Liverpool, on a sailing for Dublin.
Square in progress. Start with a sliding loop, ch1, 16 sc in loop. Beg popcorn stitch - ch3, 4 dc, drop loop, insert hook from front to back of beg ch3, then through dropped loop, yo and draw thru all on hook (dropped loop and top of ch3), ch3, sk sc, popcorn st, ending ch3 and ss to top of first popcorn st.
Work in progress. Phase 5, adding depth, shadow and more detail to the stones and the Wisteria.

This is Callie, an adorable and tiny little calico! She is one of the kittens from the late fall litter of feral cats that I am trying to help. This teensy little girl is so shy and very reluctant to let me touch her. But last night... she let me pick her up and cuddle her TWICE! Progress!! I'm hoping against all odds to find homes for these babies before winter really gets here.

Today has been a bit slow and depressing, I also have stress which is bought on by my anxiety related illness - and there being five female teenagers in the house tonight.

Lulu is still frightened, poor girl. She's active and interacting with her family, but when I open the door she dives for the safest place she can find: often the sink. And, look, her little sister was kind enough to empty the kleenex box into the sink to provide a bit of padding. Thanks, Fifi.
Lulu is less fearful of me at this point. In fact, I can reach out and scritch her around her ears. Lulu is visibly conflicted about this interaction. She enjoys the scritches but panics that a human is touching her. This morning, while I was petting her, I heard a low rumbling from the sink. I leaned as close as I dared as I didn't want to freak her out. I wondered if her stomach was gurgling loudly, but the faint rumbling persisted as I scritched the ears. Perhaps Pandora's and Fifi's constant purring around me is rubbing off. Perhaps that faint rumbling will gradually get louder and louder. Lulu won't take food from my hands, but she will eat in my presence. And now this? I'd LOVE to win this girl over. Only time will tell. . .

Fugly jointer comes closer to taking shape. I expect I will need a larger pulley on the motor; currently using a mystery part from the junk box. Once the wiring is sorted and I give it a spin I will evaluate pulley size.
I've been growing a beard for a while...no reason other than laziness and a dislike of shaving. It was getting quite bushy as you can see so I decided to let my cub pack "design" a new beard for me for comic relief. They raised £50 so off it came into the shape of the winning design. This is a shot of the work in progress, and given comic relief is "red nose day" I thought it would be a nice touch to colour pop the red nose. (easy to do in Lightroom) You can see the other shots in the sequence in my stream...including the first cut with a set of garden shears (I was nervous when that was being done !!).

Initially this afghan was going to be made of seven stripes like the purple one on the right, but I wanted to use only yarn from my stash without buying any new yarn for this project, so now it's become tri-colored. As of this posting, 6 of 7 stripes are made. It's my first mile-a-minute afghan, and I'm shocked at how fast it's gone!
