New Bus Rolls Out--MARTA recently rolled out one of its new, state-of-the art New Flyer buses to give customers and employees a peek at the future of the Authority's fleet. The Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses are more comfortable, energy-efficient and will ultimately improve the reliability of the bus fleet.
I got this present on my birthday from my good friend Water from mighty KGS crew. It was great party a few months ago. His style is amazing
If you look at the rocks on the far side of this stream you can see the traces of sedimentary activity that is probably a billion years or older. These are some of the oldest rocks in North America, bearing all kinds of fossilized secrets, like remains of the first bacteria to inhabit our planet.
All of this deep geological age is amazing I think, in juxtaposition with a rushing stream whose waters fly past here one moment and gone the next.
Materials: Digital Camera, Lipstick, Grandma, Sister's hand
Idea: A big part of how my grandma presents herself to the world is in how she dresses and makes herself up. Before entering the temple, she makes sure to represent her best self to the other monks.
Process: My grandma was putting on lipstick herself, but her hand was shaky. My younger sister took over and applied it for her. I positioned myself to her side to capture her lips and the soft light on her skin.

CAVERO PRESENTA LA PRIMERA FASE DE IMPLANTACIÓN DE TECNOLOGÍA LED EN LA ILUMINACIÓN DE METRO DE MADRID
El consejero de Transportes, Infraestructuras y Vivienda, Pablo Cavero, presenta el proyecto de sustitución de iluminación convencional por LED en Metro de Madrid, una de las medidas de ahorro energético que está poniendo en marcha la compañía. La presentación coincide con la víspera de la celebración del Día del Medio Ambiente.
•Es la primera fase de un proyecto que abarcará toda la red y todos los trenes de viajeros
•Con esta tecnología, se reducen mas de un 50% las emisiones de CO2
•La inversión prevista para esta primera fase es de 3,5 millones de euros
•Cuando se sustituya en toda la red y en los trenes, se conseguirán ahorros por valor de 4 millones de euros anuales

Kathy likes globes, and I wanted a unique gift-delivery mechanism, so I printed/cut/folded/glued a rhombicuboctahedron from here:

I left the top square unglued so it would open up to reveal the gift (earrings).
An attempt at color printing. This came out too greenish, but by the time I printed it, I was already wanting to move on to another negative. Picture shot with the Anscoflex II using respooled Fuji NPH400. Printed on Kodak Portra III color paper.
You take a photograph at one point in time, then that moment is immediately gone. Photography is, therefore, inextricably bound up with the past, what has gone before. An image automatically becomes history. But, also, in photographing my child I have uncovered past, present and future all tied up together - what she was when I took this photo, what she is now and what she will be.
I very much like the Susan Sontag quote: "the photographer is not simply the person who records the past, but the one who invents it." Isn't everything a construct?
Union Pacific freight rolls past the foundations of the old Soldier Summit Ghost Town.
The town was incorporated in 1921 and it's growth was primarily due to employees working in the DRG&W locomotive and machine shops when they moved from Helper, Utah. At 7,477 ft (2,279 m) Soldier Summit is the fifth highest railroad summit on the main transcontinental railroad line. The town was disincorporated in 1984.

My friends chipped in and got me the nano ipod for my Birthday, I've been officially converted, and I must say, happily.
