Birthday present
This is an image of wild flowers in brass thimble. This was definately the most difficult assignment so far. I looked like a micro-surgeon, operating on small bouquet: converging lens was above bouquet, in my left hand was a pincette, in my right hand was pair of scissors. Also, I had to work very quickly as wild flowers wilt within fifteen minutes. I've worked on this for two days in order to be ready for the big shoot; I've practiced the speed so I could do it quickly and in enough time. At the end I've managed to capture these small wild flowers in a thimble as I've imagined it.
I wish you a lot of years of succesful work and thank you all for helping me learn so much about macro photography.

I folded this origami tessellation "Spacecraft "with a bigger hexagon 43cm (grid 1:64, "Anett paper" ) and using the same basics as in 'Dance'. Then altering this one in really 3D.
The backside, which I call "MoToR" looks different too.

The present church of the Assumption of Blessed Virgin Mary in Siemiatycze was built in the years 1626 - 1637 from the foundation of the Lithuanian Grand Hetman Lew Sapieha and his son Kazimierz Leon.
The temple is a baroque, three-nave, basilica-style building. The main altar was designed by Karol Antonio Bay and made in 1729-30.

Widoczny na zdjęciu kościół p. w. Wniebowzięcia N M P w Siemiatyczach powstał w latach 1626 - 1637 z fundacji hetmana wielkiego litewskiego Lwa Sapiehy oraz jego syna Kazimierza Leona.
Świątynia jest budowlą w stylu barokowym, trójnawową, typu bazyliki. Ołtarz główny został zaprojektowany przez Karola Antonia Baya, a wykonany w latach 1729-30.

L'Eglise do Carmo donne sur une des plus charmantes places de Lisbonne. Malheureusement, la vie de ce lieu de culte s'est arrêtée le 1er novembre 1755 lors du dévastateur tremblement de terre. Aujourd'hui, seules quelques ruines tentent de garder la tête haute : des piliers s'élancent encore vers le ciel mais c'est le silence qui règne ici en maître. Ces vestiges, qui sont ceux d'une église gothique bâtie à la fin du XIVe siècle par le connétable Nuno Alvares Pereira, servent à l'heure actuelle de cadre au musée archéologique, lequel comprend des collections de poteries de l'âge du bronze, des bas-reliefs en marbre, des azulejos hispano-arabes et des tombeaux romans et gothiques. A faire : Compléter la visite de l'Eglise do Carmo par celle du Musée archéologique.
L'église San Carmo, au centre du quartier du Chiado, présente les ruines d'une des églises gothiques les plus importantes de Lisbonne, datant du 14 ème siècle. Les arches et les voûtes sont tout ce qui reste du tremblement de terre qui a frappé la ville en 1755. Elle fut fondée par Nuno Alvareo Pereira pour commémorer la bataille d'Aljubarrota, qui vit les Portugais triompher contre les Espagnols et devenir durablement indépendants. Elle abrite désormais à ciel ouvert un musée archéologique qui expose des restes romains, wisigothiques et même une belle fenêtre manuéline venant du Monastère des Jéronimos. C'est un endroit calme et majestueux qui domine les bas quartiers.

Petra : Byzantine Church
This church was probably built at the end of the 5th century AD and destroyed the following century probably by a fire and an earthquake. Many of the building elements of the church (capitals and beams) are certainly taken from other monuments of Petra. The mosaic pavement on both sides is well preserved and bears witness to the importance of the church itself. I present 2 mosaic motifs of the Byzantine church itself.

Questa chiesa fu probabilmente costruita alla fine del V secolo AD e distrutta il secolo successivo da un incendio e da un terremoto . Molti degli elementi costruttivi della chiesa stessa furono probabilmente presi da altri monumenti di Petra . La pavimentazione a mosaico è ben preservata e attesta l'importanza della Chiesa stessa .Presento 2 motivi musivi della chiesa stessa .

Lézard vert occidental, aussi appelé lézard à deux bandes,
(Lacerta bilineata)
ici une femelle.
Tout comme son proche cousin Lacerta viridis, Lacerta bilineata a une teinte de fond verte mouchetée de noir. On peut également y voir des teintes de bleu sur la gorge, notamment chez le mâle adulte, même si cette coloration peut être aussi présente chez la femelle.
Les individus subadultes présentent deux bandes blanches bien marquées sur le dos et la queue, ce qui vaut à l'espèce son nom vernaculaire : lézard à deux bandes. Cette spécificité permet de la distinguer de Lacerta viridis.

Presenting an impressive image for CN passenger services as well as "F-unit Friday", FP-9A #6511 leads a pretty much perfect looking "Super Continental" train (IMHO) with A-B-B-B power. The westbound is making it's station stop on what looks to be a fine winter day in the middle of nowhere northern Ontario. The Longlac station is behind the train, and I sure wish I'd been standing right there to observe this. But I wasn't and Mr. Ken McCucheon steps up to the plate again with another killer view. I'm just trying to remember what in the world I could have traded to him for this one.......
The Wild flowers of today take over the remains of the past and as the sun shines through the empty windows, the stories of the past remain in the shadows.

Some things, some people, stand out and you just know how special and rare they are. I hope each of you have a warm and lovely holiday season. Thank you for your continued support. A rare survivor in London's Docklands.
Thames Ironworks produced the world's first all-iron warship, HMS Warrior, which was launched in 1860.
Thames Ironworks FC, a football club formed by the workers of that company, was created on 29 June 1895. It later became West Ham United.
After the fall of the Roman Empire beginning in the 6th century, Germanic Alemannic peoples increased their influence on this area of present-day Switzerland. Around 750 the Benedictine Monastery of St. Leodegar was founded, which was later acquired by Murbach Abbey in Alsace in the middle of the 9th century, and by this time the area had become known as Luciaria. In 1178 Lucerne acquired its independence, and the founding of the city proper probably occurred that same year. The city gained importance as a strategically located gateway for the growing commerce from the Gotthard trade route.
