The present Stirling Old Bridge was built in the 1400s or 1500.
The stone bridge was constructed on rubble foundations around 1500 and replaced earlier wooden/ timber bridges, including that on which the Battle of Stirling Bridge was fought.
The bridge originally had arches at either end and a defensive gate at the end nearer the burgh. Tolls were levied on goods being taken across the bridge.
In December 1745 General Blakeney, lieutenant governor of Stirling⁹ Castle, had one of the bridge arches destroyed to hinder the movement of the Jacobite Army. The destroyed arch was rebuilt in 1749.
In May 1833 the adjacent new road bridge was opened to traffic and the Old Bridge was closed to wheeled traffic.
The bridge was designated as a Category A Listed Building in 1965.
The bridge today remains one of the best medieval masonry arch bridges in Scotland.

A rare survivor in London's Docklands.
Thames Ironworks produced the world's first all-iron warship, HMS Warrior, which was launched in 1860.
Thames Ironworks FC, a football club formed by the workers of that company, was created on 29 June 1895. It later became West Ham United.
Not sure at present of the exact ID. This family in California can be difficult to ID. I used to think the type of buckwheat it was perched on was a 100% lock but that theory has been debunked. Sierra County, CA.

The present bathhouse was built in 1906 and is the third building of its kind on this site. The first bathhouse was built in 1866 and was destroyed by a severe storm in 1884. Its successor was completed in 1886 and suffered the same fate during the heavy storm at 1902.

A wonderful location high in the Italian Dolomites
This beautiful 14th Century Bell Tower hints at what lies beneath the surface: namely, Curon, an Italian village that was flooded by the government in 1950 to create an artificial lake.
I almost didn't make this trip but despite a late start due a 2nd dose or pesky Covid I finally Joined Rohan Reilly and a great team of people. This location was one I really hoped to be able to visit.
I chose this viewpoint as it appealed to my minimalistic taste and the weather app showed only a couple of possible snow showers so I set up my camera and then waited keeping an eye on my snow radar app, finally a bit a of a snow blizzard passed behind the tower almost hiding the distant mountains. I was very lucky as this is the image I wanted and had in my mind.

Mon troisième jour sur Séoul. Une matinée où je traîne encore dans les quartiers environnants la "Galerie K" où j'expose. L'art me semble présent ici et partout, s'affichant sous de si nombreuses formes. Ici aussi, comme à Tokyo, des immeubles peuvent être entièrement consacrés à une galerie unique. Eaux et gaz à tous les étages. Dans l'un d'entre eux, je ne croiserais pas âme qui vive sur 4 étages. Je finirai sur sa terrasse à succomber à l'enivrement des lieux et de la cité. Après un déjeuner délicieux composé surtout d'une poule cuite au bouillon, farcie de riz aromatisé, je file vers l'ambassade des Etats Unis, en passant par le bâtiment 119, histoire de prendre la température suite à l'énorme manifestation de la veille. Calme plat, flics un peu partout. Là se trouve aussi l'immense Palais royal de Gyeongbokgung. Un lieu où tout est vaste. Ici le mystère s'établit pas à pas devant vos yeux. J'y pénétrerai le lendemain et assisterai même à la levée de sa garde. Un peu plus tard après une nouvelle douche à l'hôtel, je reprendrai ma marche errante dans la nuit de Séoul. Le GPS sera ma boussole en des lieux que je ne saurai nommer, désolé.

My third day on Seoul. A morning where I still hang in the surrounding neighborhoods "Gallery K" where I expose. Art seems to me here and everywhere, appearing in so many forms. I will enter the next day and will even attend the lifting of his guard. A little later after a new shower at the hotel, I will resume my wandering walk in the night of Seoul. The GPS will be my compass in places that I can not name,sorry.

The Rialto Bridge is the oldest of the four bridges spanning the Grand Canal in Venice. Connecting the districts of San Marco and San Polo. The present bridge was constructed between 1588 and 1591

Je dois avouer que j'aime beaucoup cette photo pour le décalage assez net qu'elle présente : il faut avouer que croiser un personnage avec un aspirateur et un balai à lingettes attrape-poussière en pleine rue... C'est pas banal.
Mais bon. Je ne sais pas où se situe le cliché. Dans ma carte mémoire ? Dans la scène présentée ? Dans mon regard ? Dans les conditions matérielles qui permettraient d'expliquer ceci ?
Je reste perplexe, je dois avouer.
PS : Evitons les blagues sexistes en commentaire, ce n'est pas trop le but. :-)
