Shortly about me:

It’s my passion to create stories and bring back pictures of events, people and places that are rarely seen. It’s a combination of exploration, exposition and artistry that together create a life of adventure and excitement.

In my work it is imperative for me that information be accurate and the images must be respectful of the subject and viewer. My goal is to combine creativity with practicality to capture the best possible images to document events, tell a story, meet the picture editor's deadlines.

Syrian and Coptic Orthodox celebrate the feast of the Epiphany at the baptismal site known as Qasr el-Yahud on the banks of the Jordan River near the West Bank city of Jericho January 19, 2011. Orthodox Christians flocked to the Jordan River to celebrate the feast of the Epiphany at the traditional site where it is believed John the Baptist baptised Jesus Christ.

New Renault Clio Estate shares the same dynamic breeding as the hatchback but has its own distinct identity. This model has the aesthetic design cues of shooting brakes but also dials in practicality and versatility for good measure.

// Nouvelle Renault Clio Estate possède le style à part des breaks de chasse. Largement marqué par un style emprunt de dynamisme, ce modèle s'appuie également sur les notions de fonctionnalité et modularité.

Inspired by a more minimal, fluid and socially aware approach to future living, the project seeks to promote and inspire leaner, more liveable life forms. Exploring the practicality of microsized living and urban downshifting - Supertramp wagon will act as my permanent mobile home, while doubling as an agency and social-facility point as well. Landings

Our usual inventory includes landing type pieces reclaimed from projects throughout New England. They typically fall into three categories:

1) Originals – originally quarried as such

2) Hand split from reclaimed block material

3) Sawn and thermaled – fabricated from large pier and bridge abutment blocks

Appearance:

Whether they are custom hand split or sawn and thermaled, our goal is to maintain the nice aged and weathered sides of the landing. We call this our “Best of Both Worlds” look blending century old patina with the practicality of a true, consistent, all season tread surface. Sometimes we can offer an aged weathered top with a sawn underside and all other surfaces untouched for that all natural look.

Size:

When a step or tread exceeds a depth of 20” or greater, we refer to these pieces as a step/landing or just a landing when they exceed 24” in depth. The most common depth of these slabs is generally between 3’-4’ with a thickness or rise in the 7”-8” range.

Use:

As the broad piece at either the door entry or at the bottom of a step/stairway to land safely and step off easily in different directions

Sold:

By the square foot.

After a short break the discussion continued with A system that it is fit for purpose: the practicalities involved: Brian McClure â Head of Rating Policy Division, Department of Finance & Personnel, Funding local services: a new system for securing businesses contributions: Martin McTague â Chairman, Local Government Committee, Federation of Small Businesses, Getting it right: the UK and international perspective:

David Magor OBE - Chief Executive, Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation. Finishing the final panel discussion was with: Brian McClure â Department of Finance & Personnel, Martin McTague â FSB and David Magor â IRRV. Seamus McKee, Chairperson of the conference made some concluding remarks before breaking for lunch. Business Rates Conference 2016, which was part of the Chambré Public Affairs âEye on the Hillâ series of policy events, provided participants with a unique insight into an important programme of reform. The conference offered context and analysis from the Minister, senior officials, sector leaders and noted experts, the conference is perfectly timed to inform responses to the consultation, which closes a fortnight later. On 26 October 2015, Finance Minister Arlene Foster launched a public consultation on a wide-ranging Review of Northern Ireland's Non-Domestic Rating System. The consultation asks questions that touch upon every sector in Northern Ireland, giving respondents the chance to provide imaginative suggestions to improve how revenue is raised locally. Key questions include whether the 100% exemption for charities should be maintained, and how the system could be changed to better suit the demands of local business. Because of the Departmentâs willingness to engage creatively with the business community and other stakeholders, this consultation represents a rare opportunity to influence major change. Business rating is a vital form of taxation, raising some £592m of revenue for regional and local Government in Northern Ireland. However, it is also a significant expense for the businesses that are the lifeblood of the local economy, and can act as a particular disincentive to smaller enterprises who want to invest and expand. At the other end of the spectrum, charities in Northern Ireland benefit significantly from the current rating system, enjoying a 100% rates exemption.

Gabriel Lester works in a range of media, initially focusing on music and progressing to film, installations and constructed environments. Lester’s work originates from a desire to tell stories, and construct environments that support these stories and propose their own narrative interpretation.

For Folkestone Triennial 2014, Gabriel Lester has created a sculpture sitting against and on top of the Harbour Railway Viaduct, at the point where it leaves the land and reaches across the harbour to the former Harbour Station. This ensemble of infrastructure is at the heart of Folkestone’s history as a place of embarkation, and its future remains a matter of contested speculation.

The sculpture provides steps on which people can sit and look at the harbour or eat their shellfish snacks, looking out across the harbour; or they can climb to the ‘observation platform’ and look along the length of the viaduct and experience the connection it creates between the old harbour residential neighbourhood and the sea front. In this way, the sculpture can contribute a positive experience to the discussions needed concerning the viaduct’s future.

The use of bamboo was inspired by the bamboo scaffolding Lester saw while he was living in China – he was not only impressed by its physical strength and practicality, but loved its material qualities (sound, smell, colour etc). And the bamboo also reminds us, of course, that the ‘Chinese Century’ is starting, which will no doubt have its effect on Folkestone’s economic future.

Lester was born in 1972 in Amsterdam, where he still lives and works. He has exhibited at: Boijmans Van Beuningen, Rotterdam; Dilzis Rodeo Gallery, and SALT, Istanbul; Bloomberg Space, and IBID, London; Gallery BirteKleeman, Berlin; Bonniers Kusthalle, Stockholm; Wako Works of Art, Tokyo; Schirn Kunsthalle, Frankfurt; Nam June Paik Art Centre, Seoul; Sao Paolo Biennial, Sao Paolo; Performa 09 Biennial, New York; Kadist Foundation, Paris; Kunsthalle Bern; MA CCA San Francisco; Liverpool Biennial 2008; Biennale di Venezia 2007; Documenta 13, Kassel; Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam among many others.

A Folly for Mrs Macquarie is a sculpture in the Royal Botanic Gardens with breathtaking views of Farm Cove and Sydney Harbour.

In architecture, a folly is an extravagant decorative structure designed more for artistic expression than practicality.

The Royal Botanic Gardens were developed from 1816 under the direction of Elizabeth Macquarie, the second wife of Governor Lachlan Macquarie. This work was created by Fiona Hall and installed in 2000 at the possible site of an original folly which looks across to Mrs Macquaries Point.

Constructed from wrought iron and sandstone, it depicts a raised arm and clasped dagger from Macquarie's crest, a domed roof of metal Norfolk Island Pine fronds and an underlying, a ceiling of bones representing the animals that once lived in this area, barbed wire walls and an entrance bounded by an axe and scythe.

The Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney, New South Wales, were opened to the public in 1816.

The gardens are open every day of the year, and access is free.

Situated east of the Sydney Opera House, and overlooking Farm Cove, the gardens occupy 30 hectares in area, and are bordered by: the Cahill Expressway to the south and west, Art Gallery road to the east, and Sydney Harbour to the north.

The first farm on the Australian continent, at Farm Cove, was established in 1788 by Governor Phillip. Although that farm failed, the land has been in constant cultivation since that time, as ways were found to make the relatively infertile soils more productive.

Admiral Arthur Phillip RN (11 October 1738 – 31 August 1814) was the first Governor of New South Wales, and founder of the settlement which became Sydney

The Botanic Gardens were founded on this site by Governor Macquarie in 1816 as part of the Governor's Domain. Australia's long history of collection and study of plants began with the appointment of the first Colonial Botanist, Charles Fraser, in 1817.

The Botanic Gardens is thus the oldest scientific institution in Australia and, from the earliest days, has played a major role in the acclimatisation of plants from other regions.

Oh ho! Now these cars truly do look sublime, one of my absolute favourite sporty looks, especially coming from something as unsuspecting as a Volvo compact!

Development of the 480 goes back to the late 1970's, where Volvo desired to move away from their boxy saloon car image and create something a bit more sport looking. Seeing that the Hot Hatchback trend was up in the air at the time, the company chose that their product would take a stab at this lucrative market, creating their very first Front-Wheel-Drive car, but also their first compact. One thing Volvo did notice though was that the hot hatchbacks of the era, such as the Peugeot 205 and the Volkswagen Golf, looked very boxy themselves, with angles and straight lines. As such, the company chose instead to try and cross the sporting looks of contemporary Italian sports cars with the sought after practicality of a hot hatch. The car would be the first hatchback design of Volvo's since the P1800ES prototype of 1972, developed by the Italian styling house Frua.

Production of the 480 took place at the NedCar factory in Born in the Netherlands, and cars were built onto the same platform as the company's upcoming 440/460 saloon cars. Power came from a 1.7L Renault engine with 108hp, this being added to later by a Garrett AiResearch turbocharger that upped the power to 118hp. Suspension was designed by Lotus, and came with a myriad of internal electrics for that futuristic touch.

The car made its debut at a press launch on October 15th, 1985, and then made its first public appearance at the 1986 Geneva Motor Show. Cars went on sale a year later in 1987, and the car was almost immediately lauded for its break from traditional Volvo design, a true step out of the company's comfort zone. Motoring critics noted its gutsy power, its lucious styling, its fantastic Lotus suspension and handling, and the fact that it was, and still is, the only Volvo to feature pop-up headlights.

Although a Cabrio variant was considered in 1987, although it wouldn't be seen until 1990, it wasn't followed up after the supplier declared bankruptcy over safety precautions. Aside from this, the car went through very few changes aside from a facelift and refurb in 1992. Production of this amazing car ended on September 7th, 1995, with 80,463 units sold.

Today, this car is often cited as the only Volvo worth preserving outside the P1800, a break from traditional family cars built like tanks but dull as Rice Crackers, and a step into a wild and lary sports world of fast cars and beautiful styling. Although I call the P1800 a fantastic machine, its the 480 that wins me over, it really is a fantastic looking machine, complimented by Volvo's legendary safety and some gung-ho power!

My first car was a brand-new 1973 Ford Maverick coupe (the 4-door sedan would have been more practical, but at age 20 I wasn't too interested in practicality). The Maverick turned out to be a pretty decent car mechanically, but they were highly vulnerable to rust, and mine was no exception. However, the '73 sedan shown here is very nicely preserved, and it kind of stands out from the '57 Chevys and the '65 Mustangs that populate the typical car show because you just don't see them like this anymore.

Was invited to a presentation for CAFOD donors at Gorton Monastery. One speaker was Sister Pascalina, who works among AIDS victims in Zambia.

She spoke clearly and so positively about her work in caring for AIDS victims and in educating groups afflicted with the disease to stop its spread. I was impressed with her straightforward practicality. What she had learned through first-hand experience she is now spreading through seven of the ten dioceses in Zambia.

If you'd like to donate to such a worthy cause go to www.cafod.org.uk.

This is what I found out about her.

Sr Pascalina was born in Chingola in Zambia, but was brought up in Mufulira where she completed her primary and secondary education. She is one of five children, having one brother and three sisters, who are all very much alive. Upon completion of her secondary education in 1983 she decided to join the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of Assisi (International Congregation). In January 1986 Sr Pascalina took her first vows of Poverty, Chastity and Obedience and she was posted to Lusaka, where she worked as an untrained pre-school teacher and youth worker in the local parish. Later that year she was transferred to Luanshya to work as an untrained social worker in two shanty compounds. Then in 1987 she went to Cheshire Homes in Ndola to work as an untrained teacher with physically challenged girls. Sister completed her primary teacher training at Charles Lwanga College of Education in 1990 and went on to teach at many different primary schools in Zambia. She completed further studies in secondary teaching at NISTICOL College in Lusaka obtaining a Diploma in Secondary Teaching (Mathematics & RE). Sr Pascalina was then posted to Kabompo, a rural district in the North Western Province, where she was appointed Community Superior and taught at Chiweza Basic School. In this role Sr Pascalina managed to motivate many local children to complete their secondary education having raised funding with the help of her fellow sisters for children’s schooling. Some of these children have become teachers, nurses, nuns and priests.

'Bumping' is an unusual form of racing which evolved on the Cam during the 1820s. It allows races to happen, involving crews from a large number of competing Colleges, on a short stretch of river most of which is too narrow or not straight enough to permit more conventional side-by-side knock-out regattas.

As more College crews appeared on the rowing scene, the race had to be divided into more Divisions. Currently there are

ten May divisions, each with 17 or 18 boats, with about 15% of the University participating.

The object of bumps racing is to catch up (and ‘bump’ into) the crew in front of you, without being caught from behind. If a bump is inevitable, due to the potentially dangerous situation created when a much faster crew is behind a slower one, coxes are instructed to acknowledge this by raising their hand before physical contact is made; this is far better than carrying on regardless and causing a major hold up, not to mention damage or injury. The two crews involved in any bump then stop racing and pull into the bank allowing the rest of the Division to carry on. The boat behind them still has to carry on to the finish. If it is lucky, it can catch up three places to hit the crew that was originally ahead of the bumping pair, in which case it can move up three (or even five or seven) places in a single day - these are called ‘overbumps’.

The ultimate achievement in these competitions is to finish first in the overall order; such a crew is said to be 'Head of the River'. A more attainable goal for crews in all divisions is to bump up a place (or more) on each of the four days; a crew achieving this is said to have won its blades. Traditionally members of such a crew purchase a rowing oar in the crew colours and inscribed with the crew names to hang on their wall, though today some purchase a miniature replica for reasons of practicality. Crews that go down four places are awarded the wooden spoon, and the bottom crew at the end of the competition is known as the 'Tail of the River'.

The Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza hotel opened in 1931 and is a National Historic Landmark and charter member of Historic Hotels of America. This Cincinnati hotel features breathtaking French Art Deco that has been restored to its 1930's grandeur. With rare Brazilian rosewood paneling, indirect German silver-nickel light fixtures and soaring ceiling murals, our historic Cincinnati hotel is one of the world's finest examples of French Art Deco.

History

The plans for the Carew Tower and Netherland Plaza Hotel were announced in August 1929 and the project was completed in January 1931. The financing for the buildings came from the Emery family, which had made its fortune in processing the by-products of Cincinnati’s stockyards. John Emery hired Walter W. Ahlschlager and Colonel William Starrett for the construction. Starrett was known as the builder of the Lincoln Memorial and the Empire State Building. Ahlschlager designed the Peabody Hotel in Memphis, Tennessee and the Hotel Intercontinental in Chicago.

The Carew Tower and Netherland Plaza Hotel were designed to be a “city within a city.” The concept was new in 1929 but Cincinnati were willing to gamble that the combination of shops, department stores, offices and hotel would work. The practicality was made apparent again in 1990 when the Belvedere Corporation invested in the re-development of the Carew Tower Shopping Arcade and Office Tower, featuring a collection of shops, restaurants, a 13,000 square feet fitness center complete with lap pool, and 500,000 square feet of office space.

Emery’s vision of the Carew Tower led him to make some bold financial moves - which worked in his favor. Emery had approached the bank to underwrite financing for the “city within a city” project. The bank did not share the vision of the multi-purpose facility and declined the loan. Emery sold all of his stocks and securities, despite advice from his financial advisors. The plans and financing for the Carew Tower were in place, and then the stock market crashed. Had Emery left his stocks and securities tied up in the stock market, he would have lost everything. But instead, with his money going toward the building of Carew Tower, the project could continue as planned. In fact, the construction project became one of the city’s largest employers.

As the construction on the hotel came to a close, the name St. Nicholas Plaza was selected. Just before the grand opening, the Cincinnati Realty Company (operators of the Hotel Sinton) filed an injunction against the new hotel’s name claiming that it had purchased the rights to the St. Nicholas name when the old St. Nicholas Hotel closed years before. Having invested heavily into the monogramming of linens, china, silverware and stationery, the new hotel’s name was quickly changed to St. Netherland Plaza. The St. came from Starrett’s (for the builder), the Netherland came from the thought that the hotel occupied the space between the Ohio River and the hills, and Plaza was from the original choice. The name was abbreviated to “St. NP.” Eventually, the “St.” was dropped and “Netherland Plaza” is the name that is now famous.

When the hotel opened in January 1931, it boasted the very latest in technology and comfort. The 800 guestrooms featured ultra-modern baths, high-speed automatic elevators, an internal broadcast system both for convenience and safety, and an automatic electric garage. The eleven kitchens that served the hotel’s dining and banquet rooms were specified, ordered and installed in only five weeks. The finest Van Range equipment was so exactingly chosen that the kitchens were able to produce a seven-course meal for 1,800 guests on opening night.

I got this hoodie after making fun of it. You see, the zipper runs all the way up to the top of the hood, and I couldn't figure out the practicality of this.

After trying it on, though, I figured out why it's there: it just looks cool. Boom.

It's dark gray and has some hefty ribbing on it.

Third generation of the Berlingo tall van, in the market since June of 2018. The new Berlingo sticks to the mission of its predecessors, offering an affordable family car. Engine choices include one three-cylinder petrol (110 PS) and three four-cylinder diesels (76 - 130 PS). I like how Citroën incorporated some of the design elements of the C4 Cactus and C3 into the Berlingo, bringing a touch of style to a class normally ruled by practicality.

The Berlingo shares its platform with the Opel Combo and Peugeot Rifter.

Peter Jones has been the favourite 'corner shop' for Chelsea residents for over 100 years but its origins were a few minutes' walk away from Sloane Square.

In 1864 a young Welshman, Peter Jones (1843-1905), arrived in London and lost no time getting himself a job at Tarn's, a draper's in Newington, moving after a while to a larger shop in Leicester Square. Not long after, he opened his first shop in Hackney and, by 1871, he had moved twice more, first to Southampton Row and then to Chelsea, where he took a lease on two small shops in what is now Draycott Avenue.

He knocked the two shops into one and put in a new front before launching into business as a 'co-operative' draper. Less than a year later, disaster struck. The weakened party wall collapsed, the new front beam broke and the houses fell down.

It was rumoured that Peter Jones got substantial compensation from the landlord. Whether that is true or not, he was soon planning a bold expansion. In 1877 he moved again, this time to two small shops in the more exclusive part of Chelsea, at the Sloane Square end of the King's Road.

In 1903 Peter Jones fell ill and died two years later at the age of sixty-two. Without him at the helm the shop had begun to falter, and shortly after his death in 1905, another self-made man, John Lewis, proprietor of the John Lewis department store in Oxford Street, bought Peter Jones' share of the business for just £22,500.

John Lewis (1836-1928) became the Chairman and made his son, Spedan, a director.

Where John Lewis had succeeded so brilliantly with his Oxford Street shop, he failed with Peter Jones. One of his first acts was to cut the advertising expenditure from £2000 to nil and the business slumped by £20,000. By 1909, turnover had dropped below £95,000 and the ordinary shareholders were not pleased. Finally, in 1914, now aged seventy-eight and tired of failure, John Lewis handed the enterprise over to his son, Spedan.

Spedan Lewis (1885-1963) was a revolutionary thinker. He believed that the rewards from a business should be shared with those who created them and that workers were entitled to have a say in and be kept informed about the business in which they worked.

The design met the needs both of aesthetics and practicality. The architects achieved a continuous run of glass on the ground floor, thus optimising the window display space - a point upon which Spedan Lewis was most insistent - and inside, the shop was light, airy and open plan in complete contrast to the old premises.

Despite the physical changes, Peter Jones retained its ethos of service, quality products and value for money, and the residents of Chelsea continued to flock to its doors.

The shop survived the war and, as the economy started to recover, business once again flourished. 1963 was a milestone year when, for the first time, turnover reached £5 million.

The year 2000 saw the beginning of major changes. The Partnership put aside over £100 million on a complete renovation, which began in February 1999. The intention was to retain the shop's distinctive character but to provide all the facilities which would characterise the Partnership's newest department stores.

The refurbishment would increase the space by about 21%; add new services, including air conditioning; rationalise the geography of the upper floors; reposition the escalators in a dramatic central atrium and provide new restaurants on the second and sixth floors.

Two years later, on 28 June 2004, after five years and £107 million, the renovation of Peter Jones was finally completed, with the return of the Furniture department to the Fifth floor. The renewed Peter Jones was officially opened by the then Chairman Sir Stuart Hampson, in time for the centenary of the shop's acquisition by John Lewis in 1905.

Mitsuwa Umaimono Fair

*-*-*-*-*

In search of a larger food fair than offered at San Diego's Mitsuwa, I journeyed out to Mitsuwa's Costa Mesa store. This is followed by visits to the Costa Mesa and the Gardena Marukai stores, as well as a visit to Gardena Ramen.

Unfortunately most all food items were a big disappointment: Kukuru's Takoyaki - too soggy/undercooked for my taste, Yaki-saba Oshi-zushi - poor quality saba, and Gardena Ramen's Shoyu-men - a complete disaster.

As usual, though, Beard Papa's Shu-cream puffs saved the day.

It was also a trip to score some dry goods, most notably a very unusual Yixing clay fuzzy logic rice cooker.

(BTW this does an incredible job at cooking rice. It reminds me of the taste I used to get when cooking rice in a heavy bottomed and lidded pot on the stove. I was actually looking for the traditional and old-fashioned kama used in kamameshi, but the practicality of the fuzzy cooker with the clay pot won me over...

It even makes "koge" if left in the cooker on warm, and the rice doesn't seem to pick up many of the off-flavors and colors when left to warm overnight. One nit: the design allows for the condensed steam to roll back on to the cooked rice, leaving little patches of soggy rice on top when kept on warm for too long, though even this can be easily fixed by a simple hack...)

Also a big plus was Marukai's Tsukiji fish event, from which I picked up 2 Yari-ikas. (of which Morita-san of Kaito Sushi kindly offered to fillet for me!).

Being largely disappointed in most of the food items, I topped off the day with a few bites at Kaito Sushi, where some incredible Kanpachi and Mirugai did not disappoint.

It isn’t a secret that most of you want to have an affordable upright vacuum cleaner yet powerful and looks stylish at the same time. The Eureka AS3006A ticks all the right boxes and comes with more than what you expect. It has been one of more desirable vacuum cleaners that have owners raving about. If you are looking for an upright vacuum cleaner, this model is one you should not miss. We start off looking at what the Eureka AS3006A offers.

Airspeed technology

Probably the most important feature and the best one, at least for us, is the deep cleaning Airspeed technology. Here, it is paired with the airspeed system, which boosts the speed of the air. What it means is that this vacuum cleaner has a more powerful suction than similar models. Thanks to it, you can remove all the debris, dust and even bad odor from different surfaces. This isn’t a common feature among cheap vacuum cleaners, so we can say it is a a pleasant advantage over many other vacuum cleaners. For homeowners who have thick carpets in their homes, this is definitely the most important feature.

Allergen filter plus

Some vacuum cleaners, usually older models have superb suction, but they don’t have filters to trap the allergens. What this means is that while vacuuming, allergens are released from the surfaces and they are free in the air. Once you breathe in allergens in the long run, you will get into health issues. With children, elderly or persons with respiratory issues, a good vacuum cleaner investment is a must. Thankfully, the Eureka AS3006A is a new model and the company has it all thought out. Like its name says “Clean Xtreme”, it cleans deep and traps allergens. With this feature, you breath fresher air and improvements to your quality of life can be noticed after a couple of days.

Tip: Buy this vacuum cleaner if you are sensitive to allergies.

Simple height adjustment

The dimensions of the vacuum cleaner are 13.5 x 12.8 x 43.2 inches it weighs approximately 7.3 pounds. Such figures go in line with the average-sized upright vacuums which are suitable for most people. User reviews are generally good, applauding its ease of use, comparing to many other vacuum cleaners. We also liked the fact the vacuum head has a slim design, allowing you to reach hard-to-reach places. Nevertheless, the main point here is the height adjusting system. It offers 5 different settings and it is a masterpiece. Choosing the desirable height takes one second and it features a heavy-duty adjustment system. This means that you can use it as long as you want, as many times you need and it will still work perfectly, like a charm.

All attachments you are going to need

Just because it is affordable, it doesn’t mean that you buy a bare vacuum cleaner without any attachment. As a matter of fact, you get a lot of attachments that will make your cleaning much easier. First of all, you get brushes for upholstery and fabric. Then we have a dust brush which is one of the best in this class and we also have a turbo brush. All of this combined means that you can use this vacuum cleaner on any surface and you will be able to get the job done as soon as possible.

Increased practicality

Using the Eureka AS3006A is simpler than most of you believe. First and foremost, you get detailed instructions on how to assemble the unit. It takes about 4 minutes to complete it, even if you are a noob with technology stuff. The guide is pretty much simplified and not difficult to understand. Just follow the instructions! Then we have foot-controlled buttons which are located on the left side. They are suitable to use even in heavy-duty shoes (meaning that this vacuum cleaner can be used for commercial applications as well). Handle-release buttons are easy to use and we can add the fact they are big, so using them while wearing gloves won’t be an issue.

Long warranty (3 years)

Purchase this vacuum cleaner and you will get a 3 year warranty. The manufacturer claims that all units are tested and checked for defects, so each delivery guarantees perfection. In our vacuum cleaner reviews, having a good warranty cover for your vacuum cleaner is important. So confident of the product, Eureka sweetens the deal with a warranty of 3 years. We know how good the product will be if any manufacturer offers warranties of 2 years and above. A worth-mentioning point relates to its built quality. It is a difficult thing to do, to find a well-made and durable vacuum cleaner from this price range. It looks like this is the one that has what it takes and as such, it is no wonder that it comes with a long-lasting warranty.

Pros:

Lightweight in its class.

Easy to control and maneuver.

Airspeed technology.

Modern and new design.

5 height settings.

A filter that traps allergens.

3 year warranty

Great attachments are included in the package.

Controls and assembly process are simple.

Value for money.

Cons:

Power cord doesn’t come with an auto — rewind feature which means you will have to rewind it manually.

The canister is complicated to connect.

Non-swivel design may be an issue.

Where we are heading

The review says it all, we do not need to go any further to explain why the Eureka AS3006A is more than just an average vacuum cleaner. It is simply one of the best deals that is a hybrid between its features and price. Overall, it is powerful enough to meet expectations of most homeowners and it looks perfect for high-end homes. Buying this vacuum cleaner will not be a mistake. It offers a lot, but it doesn’t have major issues which may affect the durability nor quality of the vacuum cleaner.

Power, agility, protection and practicality can now all be found in the Mercedes-Benz 2011 E-Class Wagon, available at EuroMotorcars. The E-Class Wagon is set to play a leading role where enjoyable driving doesn't have to be sacrificed for class-leading practicality.

The 2011 E-Class Wagon comes standard with great safety features, classic Mercedes-Benz body design, an elegant interior, third-row rear facing seats, and plenty of cargo space in the rear of the vehicle. With Mercedes-Benz, the standard equipment is impressive with its high-quality, classic E-Class design and exceptional operating and driving comfort. Mercedes-Benz does not disappoint in all that it does, including the MSRP, which starts at $56,850.

The 3.5 Liter V6 engine promises excellent performance with impressive fuel economy. With 268 standard horsepower, the Wagon gets you to 60 mph in just 7 seconds. With a great offering of standard equipment and extra package options, the E-Class wagon can be fully customized to your desire. And it is available either as a Luxury or Sport model, which has a lowered body style and increased performance.

As with all Mercedes-Benz vehicles, customer safety is their primary concern. The wagon comes with exciting new assistance systems and safety features. The entire cabin is reinforced steel with front and rear crumple zones to protect all of your passengers. Innovative ATTENTION ASSIST monitors your driving behavior and can alert you with visible and audible warnings if the Wagon thinks you might be falling asleep at the wheel.

The PRE-SAFE system protects you when a front impact is imminent. The vehicle will tighten the front seat belts, adjust the front head restraints and passenger seat, and close all windows along with the sunroof. And the Wagon also comes standard with NECK-PRO head restraints, Electronic Stability Control, ABS, Brake Assist (BAS), 9 airbags, and more. The airbags fully protect you and your passengers with front dual stage airbags, front and rear side window airbags, front side airbags, driver and front passenger pelvic airbags and a driver knee airbag.

The style of the E-Class wagon was designed to optimize cargo and storage space. The wide tailgate, situated between the strong D-Pillars, makes it easy to load cargo into and out of the vehicle and is located at a comfortable height for lifting. The dynamic and sleek roof racks on a lowered body make it easier to load cargo to the top of the roof.

The interior storage compartment in the rear of the vehicle features a high-class, elegant design with a large 68.9 cubic feet of cargo capacity. The rear-facing seats in the third row are suitable for children up to 4’7” tall and 110 lbs. And the seats can be neatly folded away into the compartment floor when not in use. No other comparable vehicle in this segment offers this unique feature, giving you the most useable space.

The interior of the E-Class Wagon blends both elegance and technology in the ergonomic cockpit with Burl Walnut Trim and elegant leather. A multifunction steering wheel and the COMAND system put the controls within easy reach. The instrument cluster and elegant display produce a harmonious and luxurious driving experience, offering the driver maximum clarity and comfort. When driving at night, the interior compartments of the vehicle are elegantly lit with dashboard trim strips and lighting in the four door panels.
