Really good poutine at Leslieville Pumps. This was also my very first poutine ever, so it was good to get off to such a yummy start. :D
We went to Feenie's Restaurant for dinner the other night. Probably one of our last dinner outings before the baby...
The Fishery and Chips obviously had fish and chips on their menu and they also had poutine, so why not combine the two? I liked these more for the novelty of having poutine with my fried fish but the poutine was okay as the fries (and these definitely were not chips) were too skinny.
A Poutine I had in Brandon, MB at the university.. they had a chicken restaurant open up, and their poutine actually isn't BAD for being in Manitoba. the cheese curds were squeeky, gravy appears to be a chicken based sauce instead of beef (yay!), and it was piping hot. The fries weren't the greatest, but overall it got the job done, needs more curds though ;)

Apparently chicken and peas is a typical Canadian open-face sandwich.
Whatever the case, this was a delicious poutine - and one I didn't feel (all that) guilty eating.
Serving on Tuesday night (Wednesday really early morning, actually), among others: JJ, Dave, and Sara.
Fried gnocchi, mushroom ragu, creme fraiche, cheese curds.
Yum. Also: very photogenic. Ah, brunch light!
I already had a great shot of this from another angle but I couldn't resist including the balloons waving in the wind. And just as I was setting up the shot I heard a fire truck heading down the street. The bright lights framing the storefront and that hint of shiny silver ladder are the only evidence that it passed while I was taking the shot.
