West Texas Ground Squirrel. I got to seeing this real shy, little guy when he dug his hole right next to the trailer I was working out of. I set up my camera to fire off in 5 second intervals and caught these three. Most of the shots had him sticking his head us and checking the camera out. These are the best ones out of the several hundred I took that day.
This Egyptian goose posed in front of a blue children's swimming pool. How could I resist the portrait?

The African darter, also known as the snakebird or, slanghals in Afrikaans, is a water-bird that is common throughout sub-Saharan African. It has earned the name snakebird for the way that it swims – it keeps its entire body very low in the water, with only the neck and the head sticking out, giving it the appearance of a swimming snake.
