A few things... (deep breath)...
I was featured in an interview for Strobist.com. Thank you David Hobby — I am infitnitly honored.
This shot was taken after one of those longer kindof work days. This photo mostly explains it.
Now to talk about a few geeky things (this is where normal folks stop reading).
I thought a lot about the similarities between new age web design (I'm not calling it web 2.0) and location photography. It nearly mirrors a quote Doug Bowman mentioned on Twitter — "the challenge of designing around user-customization is the new 'designing around dynamic content'".
In the world of location & strobist photography, our dynamic content is each and every location. But as time goes on, we shoot similar locations, and they can become somewhat predictable. However the customizations that happen on-spot, is wind. It's always hard to tell what weather is going to do — but we use precaution...
Here are some precautions I take.
1) setup lights first (attach gels, pocketwizards) "without" umbrellas, softboxes, octaboxes, etc.
2) Secure stands with weight
3) Setup camera, adjust exposure appropriately.
4) attach light modifiers (umbrellas etc) — then raise lightstands to appropriate height.
5) shoot quickly, then immediately tear down.
all this stuff said, setup junkys read on...

Got a late start this year on a picture for our family christmas card. I setup the seamless (see setup image below) & took some shots of the kids. Takes a lot longer to setup than take the shot! I was trying to go for a catalog feel like Macy's or something. It was fun watching my kids try to pose. My son did a lot better than I thought! Happy Holidays everyone!

I got so much trouble getting out of the house at the moment. There are so many pollen in the air... even though it isn't really what most people are looking for I can't wait for it to rain.

A diptych for the project "If hands could...". I heard the prompt and the 6 year old inside me took over and immediately went jedi. It's all up to interpretation, but depending on your viewpoint, hands have the power to restore, to change, to unveil, to destroy, to create, to liberate, to cage...which is why I really liked this project. (a composite of 4 images)
Sorry about the dull colors, I've only just been learning about RGB and CMYK, and how all of my images must appear on others' screens. Also, I've seen a few of my images popping up elsewhere, so I'll be uploading smaller images from here on out :/

The first 50 Days of my Project 365 are over. It's weird to see how much something like this effects your life. I'm catching myself thinking about the picture for the day or planning other idea all through the day. You look at the weather forecast (something I normally don't really do) and think about the days you can go out to shoot and plan for the once you have to stay inside. You go through 1-Euro-Shops and look for props for your shoots, and so on and so on... I like it! Let's hope the autumn isn't going to be too wet.

I've gotten this lovely piece of tech for about a month now, and i absolutely heart it.
I waited for it for quite sometime for starhub to bring it in. Upon them announcing they wouldn't at all. I switched to Singtel. Funny thing is i went to Singtel to Starhub just a year before, because i wasn't happy with Singtels lack of "perks", after a year of starhub thier service went down the drain, even my room didn't have reception ( it even came out in the newpaper about my block not having any reception for ALL starhub users.) so i was quite pissed it's also one of the major reasons i decided to switch back.

What a day... it was raining again the whole time, so I though I do another nice rain picture (kind of a theme this month), but as soon after I was finished setting up in the rain, it stopped. Great. So I waited a bit, but when it didn't start again, I had to use the water hose.
I wanted to call this picture End of Summer first, but the weather was so nice today, that it didn't really fit...

This picture is taken around noon on a sunny day so the natural light was pretty harsh and unflattering. I decided to underexpose the background and use an SB-24 on a Nano stand with a translucent umbrella (camera left) to balance the light on the model. I could have used a bit more flash power for this shot to use an even smaller aperture under the max sync speed of my camera (1/250).
Triggered with PW's.

Shot of my lovely friend Crystal around her neighborhood in Capitol Hill. We were hanging out so we decided to go outside and shoot a lil bit. I have been wanting to move to the city for a while now. I've always lived 15 minutes outside of the city, in the burbs. I've spent the past 5 years living in a small house by myself in a quaint little neighborhood that is safe, clean and boring as hell. And over the past year or so, I have developed a new feeling about the city I live in, and so I am just going to tell it straight out how I feel.
Dear Lynnwood,
I am over you. You bore me. You are lame and I wouldn't care if I never saw you again. I've been cheating on you with Seattle and I'm not even sorry about it. I'm leaving you. Don't try and call me because I'll be busy doing fun things....without you.

It was hard shooting today, I went out with a clear vision in my head what I was looking for. After running around town for an hour and shooting I didn't found anything I liked, the flashlight I brought along to help me focus wasn't working properly and the weather was kinf of nasty. Finally I got this shot and I guess I am pretty happy with it
