...before you go go"
Oh no!
Now that friggin' song is stuck in my head! Damn that George Michael and his catchy lyrics! It's bringing back memories of the '80s and big hair! Time to queue up some Pearl Jam, Nirvana and maybe some Soundgarden on the iPod to clear my head! :-)
Have a great weekend my friends and try to to take it easy like my little buddy here!
All the best...
Dave
Finally our Pharaoh's Curse kitties came... A wonderful surprise! =^_^=
Please meet Indy! Her favorite color is purple, she loves playing with yarn and chasing the reflections of light from watches. She likes fish, but otherwise is a vegetarian, and hopes to be able to visit Egypt one day. Her favorite movies are The Aristocats, and The Three Lives of Thomasina. xx

There, a inhabitant of the Prestes Maia building, in a talking supported by a protest of artists, at last sunday (12th, february, 2006).
Prestes Maia, is a colossal abandoned clothes factory that towers over central Sao Paulo, and the biggest occupation of Latin America, with 22 storeys in total, is home to 468 families; around 2,000 people from the MSTC (Downtown Homeless People's Movement).
"The owners of the building, Jorge Hamuche and Eduardo Amorim, who do not possess the title deed, abandoned the building for twenty years and owe close to BRL$5 million (EUR$1.8 million) in taxes.
Despite this, the judge of the 25th Civil Jurisdiction of Sao Paulo granted an injunction for the repossession of the property, ignoring the residential rights of the occupants and even a UN report that declares; "the municipal government of Sao Paulo, through the Secretaria de Habitacao e Desenvolvimento Urbano and COHAB, should promote the renovation of the Prestes Maia building for housing and social interests, to meet the objective of the dispossession of the building by the municipality."
But this week, after this february, 15th, the people must leave the building, and they won't, and I'm afraid there will be a lot of violence there, by the military police. The authorities didn't plan a project to remove everybody, and we know that they will return to live at the streets. We are trying to stop this, and to pressure the state governor Geraldo Alckmin and the mayor from the city José Serra, to make first a project, and then remove the families.
Please, help us signing this on-line pettion, spread this.

When all our tears have reached the sea
Part of you will live in me
Way down deep inside my heart
The days keep coming without fail
A new wind is gonna find your sail
That’s where your journey starts
You’ll find better love
Strong as it ever was
Deep as the river runs
Warm as the morning sun
Please remember me
Just like the waves down by the shore
We’re gonna keep on coming back for more
’cause we don’t ever wanna stop
Out in this brave new world you seek
Oh the valleys and the peaks
And I can see you on the top
You’ll find better love
Strong as it ever was
Deep as the river runs
Warm as the morning sun
Please remember me
Remember me when you’re out walkin’
When the snow falls high outside your door
Late at night when you’re not sleepin’
And moonlight falls across your floor
When I can’t hurt you anymore
You’ll find better love
Strong as it ever was
Deep as the river runs
Warm as the morning sun
Please remember me
Please remember me

Alpinia zerumbet, commonly known as shell ginger, is a perennial species of ginger native to East Asia. They can grow up to 8 to 10 ft (2.4 to 3.0 m) tall and bear colorful funnel-shaped flowers. They are grown as ornamentals and their leaves are used in cuisine and traditional medicine. They are also sometimes known as the pink porcelain lily, variegated ginger or butterfly ginger.

Les Jardins de Doris - Has 4500 different plants, 25 small animals, 24 different facilities (buildings), the gardens have many things to amaze people of all ages.
In the summer of 1926 Elsie Reford (1872-1967) began transforming her fishing camp on the Metis River into a garden. Hundreds of miles from the nearest nursery, Elsie Reford was faced with challenges that would be difficult to imagine today. Where experienced specialists had failed, she succeeded in turning her spruce forest into a gigantic garden that would become one of the largest plant collections of its time. Elsie hired and trained people from the region, like farmers and fishing guides in order to turn them into master gardeners. Over three decades, they’ve built a magnificent garden together.
The Reford Gardens are a National Historic Site of Canada. Some 3,000 species and varieties of plants, including the famous Himalayan blue poppy, are spread over fifteen gardens.

PLEASE PRAY FOR MY BROTHER-IN-LAW (my husband's brother Jason). He was just diagnosed on Friday with a brain tumor. Surgery will be performed today at 1:30 pm EST. A biopsy will be performed and they will remove the tumor at the time of the surgery if they are able. We are all feeling quite anxious at the moment. Please keep Jason, his wife and the rest of his family in your prayers.
*****UPDATE: Please read my comment below concerning Jason's surgery. Thanks for all of your prayers!
*****FURTHER UPDATE: The day prior to surgery, another MRI was performed which showed the tumor was larger than originally thought. They originally thought it was about 2 1/2 inches (6 cm). After removing the tumor, a nurse told Jason and his wife that it was huge. I guess it was about the size of a softball. He must remain on anti-seizure medication for 3 months to prevent the possibility of having a seizure. The doctors did inform them that it is quite likely that the tumor may grow back. It must be frequently monitored. The tumor was fortunately not actually inside the brain. It was apparently just outside the brain attached to just the lining. It may have been growing for 10+ years, according to the doctors.
