Bonampak means "painted walls" and it is the highly detailed frescoes and drawings, painted on the inside of the walls and roofs of three buildings, which make Bonampak a true delight and major attraction for archaeologists and visitors alike. The frescoes are incredibly well preserved and a highlight of a visit.

This site has been hidden away in the jungle for longer than most: not until 1946 did some American explorers discover the place. A visit to this site requires accompaniment of a guide from the Lacandón Maya on whose property the site is situated.

The buildings you can see today were built under the rule of Governor Chaan Muan II, who took the throne around 770AD. It appears that Bonampak was at times ally and foe to the neighboring city of Yaxchilan and the frescoes inside the three buildings of the Templo de Pinturas (Temple of Paintings) - the first showing the consecration of the Governor's Heir; the second a battle and torture and sacrifice of captives (suggesting victory in the battle) and the third celebration with dances and headdresses predominant along with bloodletting from the tongue - an offering of thanks to the gods. Interpretations vary.

Only three people are allowed into each of the rooms at any one time because perspiration (moisture) affects the paintings in a severe way.

This scene shows: Turtle-carapace players on the left follow rattle players in the procession, with a drummer playing a chest-high drum standing in the middle.

There wasn't a lot to see on Hoy once you got away from the coast ;-)

On the flip side of the pic below...i write this with tears in my eyes. i can honestly say that I appreciate my life - being alive when my brother isn't. Sometimes i get all anal about my car being clean, my nails being all perfect or my hair being neat, but lately - i try and let it go because it isn't really what's important. And no one will love me more for any of that bullshit. They will just love me for being good and nice. Hopefully.

So, love your life, people. And please - I know I don't have any place telling you this, but it is just a friendly reminder:

Hug the people you love. Say you're sorry. Let the wind blow your hair. Leave work to go outside and breathe the air. Call your friends. Tell them you love them. Tell someone you're mad at why you feel the way you do so you can both work it out. Smile at a stranger. Let someone go before you in traffic. Leave someone a treat. Give someone flowers. Leave a love note. Listen to your child. Put on a song that makes you cry and taste the salt from the tears on your lips. Have some wine at lunch. Go home and take a nap. Write a letter. Stop being stubborn. Let it go. Sleep in. Be late. Kiss your significant other. Have a good long hug. Wake up early and watch the sunrise. Meet a friend for sunset. Pick up the phone. Tell someone how cute you think they look. Be real. Be you. Let your kid bust out the paints and use your face as a canvas.

Remember what truly matters.

The current Cape Roseway lighthouse is an octagonal concrete building with a red lantern.

The lighthouse is still being used with an automatic light apparatus installed, but the houses have been vacant since 1986 when the station became unmanned. The 1960 replacement tower still stands, along with the houses (all less than 40 years old), the two sheds (probably the oldest structures on site), two other badly deteriorated sheds, and a steel tower, once used for a radio transmitter.

The fog horn was taken out of service in 1989. The radio beacon has been discontinued, far right building. The dwellings and service sheds have deteriorated badly in the harsh marine environment. Cape Roseway is one of the few stations in Nova Scotia which remains relatively intact.

Amelia Wu, also known as Ame. Metro News Desk (FM99.7) presenters. Early years as a part-time Chinese radio stations in Canada, started his DJ career. In 2004, he returned to Hong Kong to join the Metro Radio work so far. In 1-8-2012 she will join the Hong Kong Commercial Radio 881 .

胡凱澄，Amelia Wu，又名Ame。新城知訊台（FM99.7）節目主持人。早年以兼職身份於加拿大中文電台開始其DJ生涯。2004年迴流香港加入新城電台工作至今 。

曾跟前拍檔林盛斌推出散文『凹凸男女』及個人散文『不要大女人』，2010年7月推出以羅力威作品『情人季節』為藍本的同名小說﹐並於簽名會得到空前 成功。同年為羅力威作曲﹐於亞洲電視播映的電視劇書劍恩仇錄片尾曲『花無情』 填詞﹐亦正式成為CASH香港作曲家及作詞家協會會員。2011年再為羅力威作曲，葉文輝主唱的作品『從未忘記』填詞。曾為新報撰寫逢星期五刊登的專 欄 -『電波少女』。曾跟葉文輝、林柏希，及張卓賢合唱『Life Goes On'一曲。2009年，她開始嘗試撰寫廣播劇。3月23日，胡凱澄編劇監製，林峰及鍾嘉欣主演的廣播劇『情情塔塔』正式首播。而她也在劇中客串阿玲 一角。同年編劇監製及推出另一廣播劇『愛情決勝焗』﹐由徐子珊及胡杏兒聲演﹐是次亦擔當其中一個重要角色。2012年再次編寫又張信哲，劉心悠，洪卓 立，及她自己聲演的情人節廣播劇花季之約。
