Dougga or Thugga is an ancient Roman city in northern Tunisia, a 65 hectare archaeological site.
It is a UNESCO World Heitage site, believing that it represents “the best-preserved Roman small town in North Africa”. The site, which lies in the middle of the countryside, has been protected from the encroachment of modern urbanisation, in contrast, for example, to Carthage, which has been pillaged and rebuilt on numerous occasions.
Dougga’s size, monuments and its rich Numidian-Berber, Punic, ancient Roman and Byzantine history make it exceptional. Amongst the most famous monuments at the site are a Punic-Libyan mausoleum, the capitol, the theatre, and the temples of Saturn and of Juno Caelestis.
First thing we saw was the outside of the Dougga Theatre.

Latin name: Tamarix - Tamarisk
One of the trees in our garden is a Tamarisk and this was taken at the end of May against a lovely blue sky with fluffy clouds sailing high.
It is one of about 50–60 species of flowering plants in the family Tamaricaceae, native to drier areas of Eurasia and Africa. The generic name originated in Latin and may refer to the Tamaris River in Hispania Tarraconensis.
They are evergreen or deciduous shrubs or trees growing to 1–18 m in height and forming dense thickets. The largest, Tamarix aphylla, is an evergreen tree that can grow to 18 m tall. They usually grow on saline soils, tolerating up to 15,000 ppm soluble salt and can also tolerate alkaline conditions.
Tamarisks are characterized by slender branches and grey-green foliage. The bark of young branches is smooth and reddish brown. As the plants age, the bark becomes bluish-purple, ridged and furrowed.
The leaves are scale-like, almost like that of junipers [4] 1–2 mm long, and overlap each other along the stem. They are often encrusted with salt secretions.
The pink to white flowers appear in dense masses on 5–10 cm long spikes at branch tips from March to September, though some species (e.g. T. aphylla) tend to flower during the winter.

House in the Matane area. Because of my low energy level Yvonne went for a long walk in the area and even bought lots of water back to the motel.
I'm quitting my 365. Honestly I don't have a very good explination why... but It's just not the best thing for me to do right now. I want to be proud of my photostream and recently I haven't been.. idk. Hopefully I won't regret quitting.
I got my wisdom teeth out a couple days ago. My mouth hurts... really bad.

As I often get questions on this setup: The kitchen table is just medium-brown faux-wood plastic laminate.
The dark appearance is a combination of the low camera POV - it's on a tripod off table with the lens just above table height - and the black backdrop raised high enough to fill the reflection.
The main flash on tripod behind umbrella is to the right and my new flash at -1EV, with soft box, is sitting on the table on the left.
The bag was empty, the boys having Hoovered up the contents before I began setting everything up.
Henry has his front paws on a small step-stool so you can see him.
This is a trick he does easily and well.

during our holiday in France we also went to San Sebastian. I love this city: great architecture, food, people. Will we be there next year?
