looked like a honey drop, but it is on a dead sunflower head, there is a web close by too, but I can't see a spider, never seen this before, could I have an ID please?
Perhaps it was light enough to carry when full, but too heavy once it was empty?!!!! This was a photo opportunity that I would have happily not had, but then decided to use it as a reminder to say: "PLEASE don't leave your garbage in our natural areas. Much as I love Tim Horton's coffee, I (and my friends) don't enjoy seeing your empty containers when I'm out on a walk!" Our natural areas would be so full of garbage if it wasn't for those who pick up every piece of garbage every single time they go out for a walk, sometimes every day. Thank you to those of you who willingly help to keep garbage out of the parks. Taken in Fish Creek Park on 31 October 2013, somewhere between Bebo Grove and Shannon Terrace.

The Jardin Zoologico in Buenos Aires is the only zoo I've ever seen where people are actually encouraged to feed the animals. This bison waits eagerly in anticipation of someone sending his next snack down the food chute.

The Benedictine Abbey of Saint Peter is the oldest existing monastery in the German-speaking world. It was established resp. renewed about 696 (after the house tradition 582 ) by Rupert of Worms. It should have been built upon a since late antiquity existing monastic community. However, it is not the oldest monastery in southern Germany.
History
See also: Abbots of St. Peter
Archaeological excavations being carried out in the territory of present-day monastery since 1980 have already brought three mosaics to light. With this could be proved that the today's courtyard of the abbey had been built up with a large, beautiful villa complex. The first monastery but was originally located in the area of the present Kapitelplatz. The first abbots of the monastery were simultaneously Bishops (Rupert, Vitalis, Flobrigis, John, Virgil, Adalram, Liupram, Adalwin) or archbishops (Theotmar I., I. Pilgrim, Odalbert, Egilolf, Herold, Friedrich I., Hartwig).
The main task of the monastery and the Abtbischofs (abbot bishop) was besides the pastoral care the (Slavic) mission. Towards the end of the 9th Century prevailed in the monastery, the Benedictine Rule as the basis of the order. In 987 Monastery and Archdiocese were separated from each other and revoked the former community of goods. The monastery now had assigned by Archbishop Frederick I. ground at monk mountain rocks (Mönchsbergfelsen) next to the Salzburg Catacombs, where previously an old cemetery had existed, where soon there was a new monastery built and then a new monastery church emerged. St. Peter remained, despite the segregation of duties, to the 12th Century residence of the Archbishop of Salzburg.
The abbey owned numerous estates in the vicinity of Salzburg. So, for example, belonged farms in Anif and Niederalm to the monastery. In the Old Town of Hallein, on the Lower Market, it had an official residence (and many others). 1141 confirmed Archbishop Konrad I. the Archbishopric a real property in Arnsdorf in the Wachau, where the monastery then obtained its wine. Furthermore, the monastery had possessions in Dornbach in the Wienerwald near Vienna.
In the Middle Ages had the monastery with the influential Peter school and scriptorium (creation of valuable handwritten books, see also Salzburger Illumination) diverse and important cultural tasks. The archbishopric of St. Peter has an important collection of paintings and sculptures, and especially of valuable books and documents. The brotherhood book (fraternization codex - Verbrüderungsbuch) of the monastery is the oldest surviving document in the area of present-day Austria.
Abbot Johann von Staupitz, which a life long stayed friends with Martin Luther, is the most famous and probably the most important abbot of the monastery, who also had significant share in the preparations for the establishment of Benedictine University. He is buried in St. Mary's chapel of the monastery. From 1924 bis1926 was under Abbot Petrus Klotz the Collegium Benedictinum - the Benedictine College - built after to a design by Peter Behrens. In the period between 1939 and 1945, the monastery was dispossessed, largely expelled the monks from 1942 to 1945 from the monastery.
1927, the archbishopric was elevated to the status of Archabbey. In 1982, took place in St. Peter the 3rd National exhibition on the theme of St. Peter in Salzburg. Since 1997 Konsistorialrat P. Edmund Wagenhofer is abbot of St. Peter. He was elected for 12 years by the Convention. On 24 April 2009, he was succeeded by Fr Bruno Becker in this office.
The Convention (2009) counts 28 members, also the to the monastery belonging parishes of Abtenau, Annaberg, Grödig, Rußbach and Kirchberg and the pilgrimage church of Maria Plain, and St. Michael's Church at the Salzburg Residence Square attending.
The monastery
Coming from the Franziskanergasse you enter the first cloister. The archway is inconspicuous, only with the keys of Peter, the monastery crest marked. The courtyard, a four-sided, but irregular room, was designed by Abbot Edmund Sinnhuber 1688 in its present form. Due to the uniform window frames (there are Salzburg box windows), created in 1760, the court gets a certain monumental effect .
In the middle is a six-sided marble fountain whose lower part were planned as a fish container (Fischkalter). The builder, the donor, was Archbishop Maximilian Graf von Gandolph Kuenburg in the year 1673. The column with the statue of St. Peter stems from Bartlmä van Opstal, a member of an artists family of Antwerp (now Belgium). A second, older drawing fountain on the square has a spiral grating, which was probably made around 1600, and a bell-shaped Baroque dome.
Church of St. Peter
Main article: Collegiate Church of St. Peter
The first monastery church of St. Peter was built around 696, when Rupert (Hruodpert) renewed the local Romanesque monastic community, likely continuing to exist since late antiquity. The current church in the core dates back to a building which was constructed in 1125 - 1143. The mighty church tower, in 1400 romanizing increased, originates in the core from the 9th Century.
In the spirit of the Renaissance, the Church 1605/1606 has been redesigned, 1619/1620 vaulted and 1622 provided with a slender crossing-cupola. The distinctive Baroque onion dome was built under Abbot Beda Seeauer 1756. The two high altars are substantially designed of Martin Johann Schmidt (Kremser Schmidt). The interior of the church is 1760/1766 decorated with rich rococo ( Rocaillestuck (stucco) and ceiling paintings). The old Romanesque building structure at the same time remains clearly visible.
Besides tombs of abbots can be found in the church the tomb of Johann Michael Haydn, and in place of the original tomb of St. Rupert a grave slab with an eternal light. A prophecy states that Salzburg will be destroyed on the day on which this light would go out.
St. Peter's Cemetery
Main article: St. Peter's Cemetery
This cemetery is besides the cemetery of the monastery Nonnberg the oldest Christian burial place of Salzburg. It was already used in post-Roman-ancient times as a burial site. Due to its location at the foot of the mountain fortress and its "picturesque" grounds, St. Peter's Cemetery was a favorite subject of painting and poetry of the 19th Century. In St. Peter's Cemetery can be found carved into the mountain the so-called catacombs. They served not as a burial place and are probably late antique origin. This includes the Gertraud chapel and the Maximus chapel.
During a walk through the cemetery one can discover numerous well-known Salzburg names. But also famous foreigners are buried here, such as General Harry J. Collins (born December 7, 1895 Chicago, Illinois, USA, † March 8, 1963 in Salzburg), and which in the course of the Second World War also in Salzburg to Irene Gehmacher from Salzburg was married.

Excavations, finds
In October 2009 discovered the as an expert on excavations in the monastery acting archaeologist Stefan Karwiese a vaulted cellar in the courtyard of the monastery. This from the 13th Century stemming vault may have served as a wine cellar. Once stood on it the Rentmeisterstöckl (bursary officer), which was demolished in 1657. The excavations were begun in the course for the laying of electric cables. After completion of work, the vault is refilled again.

I don't know what these are, but a friend of mine has a neighbor, on the second floor of the apartments where she lives, who has them aimed right at her apartment, and one other apartment.
I'd like to help her out by telling her if she is being paranoid or just realistically concerned? Personally, I don't know beans about this type of technology. For all I know they could be transistor radios aimed for best reception.
I know some of you would find this incredibly easy to answer, so please comment.

Today I made the sad choice to take a break from blogging. It's something I just need but I wont lie it breaks my heart to do so. Blogging for me has always been so fun and brought me so much joy. But my RL has put me in a pretty bad place. I cannot get my head right to be able to blog. I suffer from really bad depression and have been off my medication due to insurance issues. I have been in a constant state of crisis mentally for the past couple months and it is a scary thing for me to go through. I am sorry for letting my sponsors down, it's the last thing I wanted to do. I hope you all will understand. I want all my sponsors to know how deeply appreciative I am for them allowing me to join their team and blog their creations. I will never be able to thank you enough for that, you have no idea how much it meant to me that you allowed me to do so. I'll be back to blogging in a few months maybe if I can fix my RL. Thank you to all the viewers/followers of my flickr and blog.
PLEASE, NO invitations, graphics or self promotions, THEY WILL BE DELETED. My photos are FREE to use, just give me credit and it would be nice if you let me know, thanks.
