Please excuse the fact that this wasn't Tuesday but I just couldn't resist the opportunity! The air temperature was 109°f and the road was an awful lot hotter!

The Nave of Durham Cathedral, North East England.
The sign reads "NO PHOTOGRAPHY" ! My heart sank...... but when I enquired at the information desk I was told that if I went to the Admin Office and pleaded a good case, I might be allowed...................so off I went and was given a very sympathetic hearing by a very friendly young lady, and hey presto, for a fee, I was granted a days licence to take photos ! I had to wear a purple sash and felt very smug when the staff kept rushing up to all the other tourists , telling them that photography was "NOT ALLOWED !"

Antechamber of the Grand Couvert was the Queen's Guard Room until 1680, it became the first antechamber of the Queen's apartment, where the King and Queen took their meals in public. Marie-Antoinette gave concerts and balls and held her grand dinner service here. The royal couple "dined" in front of the Court on Sundays and on days when ceremonies took place.

Now that friggin' song is stuck in my head! Damn that George Michael and his catchy lyrics! It's bringing back memories of the '80s and big hair! Time to queue up some Pearl Jam, Nirvana and maybe some Soundgarden on the iPod to clear my head! :-)
