"The weightlifter" ... taken on the Krewelshof Farm where the largest pumpkin exhibition in NRW takes place.
There, a inhabitant of the Prestes Maia building, in a talking supported by a protest of artists, at last sunday (12th, february, 2006).
Prestes Maia, is a colossal abandoned clothes factory that towers over central Sao Paulo, and the biggest occupation of Latin America, with 22 storeys in total, is home to 468 families; around 2,000 people from the MSTC (Downtown Homeless People's Movement).
"The owners of the building, Jorge Hamuche and Eduardo Amorim, who do not possess the title deed, abandoned the building for twenty years and owe close to BRL$5 million (EUR$1.8 million) in taxes.
Despite this, the judge of the 25th Civil Jurisdiction of Sao Paulo granted an injunction for the repossession of the property, ignoring the residential rights of the occupants and even a UN report that declares; "the municipal government of Sao Paulo, through the Secretaria de Habitacao e Desenvolvimento Urbano and COHAB, should promote the renovation of the Prestes Maia building for housing and social interests, to meet the objective of the dispossession of the building by the municipality."
But this week, after this february, 15th, the people must leave the building, and they won't, and I'm afraid there will be a lot of violence there, by the military police. The authorities didn't plan a project to remove everybody, and we know that they will return to live at the streets. We are trying to stop this, and to pressure the state governor Geraldo Alckmin and the mayor from the city José Serra, to make first a project, and then remove the families.
Please, help us signing this on-line pettion, spread this.

The Teleglobe earth-satellite station was built in Charleston in 1963. It was the creation of the Canadian Department of Transport, Telecommunications & Electronics Division, the station was active from 1965 until 1995 and was instrumental in broadcasting worldwide events seen across the globe. It was once one of only 5 Satellite Stations in the world like it and the most important one in North America.
Changes in technology led to the closure of the station in 1995 and it has since been abandoned. It was once a center of technology and innovation but now sits in ruins.

At least five people (the Governor General, Prime Minister, and three other ministers) were required to form the War Cabinet, although it was planned to be made up of 12 people. In an emergency these folks would have served as the legal government of Canada and would have met several times a day in this room to receive briefings from outside the bunker. With this information they could coordinate government activities and direct war efforts.
Please forgive me for posting dozens of images in a day. The official start of autumn is fast approaching, and I'm so very excited. While I'm waiting for the foliage season to arrive I thought I would post some autumn images from years past because I have quite a backlog of autumn images I have never posted.
This beautiful girl arrived today. She is just amazing. I'm sure she was never played with as she is in almost perfect condition.
She has such blushy cheeks and her hair is smooth and frizz free... honestly I feel like this is the closest you could get to brand new without buying a NRFB girl back in '72. I feel so lucky to have her.
She is not named after Duff or Clinton, it is just her name. :)

Mont Saint Michel is a wonderful sim, well worth a visit. This picture does not really show you what the place looks like, but it is a beautiful little island city recreated in great detail.
Also, this is my first shot with a Redgrave skin. I've had some odd prejudice against them before, but now that I have one I really like it.
