311.1961 Removal of cornea or corneal tissue from decedent whose death defined
as a coroner's case -- Conditions -- Who may remove.
(1) In any case in which a patient is in need of a cornea or corneal tissue for a
transplant, the coroner, medical examiner, or his appropriately qualified designee
with training in ophthalmologic techniques may, upon the request of any person
authorized under KRS 311.1929, provide or authorize the removal of the cornea or
corneal tissue by a qualified physician under the following conditions:
(a) The decedent has been defined as a "coroner's case" as set forth by KRS
72.405(2), an autopsy has been ordered pursuant to KRS 72.410, and the
cornea or corneal tissue are suitable for transplant;
(b) No objection by the next of kin is known by the coroner or medical examiner;
and
(c) The removal of the cornea or corneal tissue will not interfere with the
subsequent course of an investigation or autopsy or alter the postmortem facial
appearance.
(2) The medical examiner, coroner, or his appropriately qualified designee or any
persons authorized under KRS 311.1929 shall not be held liable in any civil or
criminal action for failure to obtain consent of the next of kin.
(3) An individual certified by a department of ophthalmology in an accredited school of
medicine as having received competent training, may remove corneas for gift after
proper certification of death by a physician and in compliance with the provisions of
KRS 311.1915, 311.1925, 311.1929, and 311.1935.

okay so this turned out TOTALLY different than what i was plannin on doing. but thats usually how it goes for me. i get an idea & i end up turning it around somehow haha. anywho, excuse my fingernail polish. i only paint them to peel it back off, it keeps me occupied. but yeah, i liked this. i hope you do too!

All 3 kids had dentist appointments today. I actually love their dental office and my kids do too. They love Ms Rachel and Ms Amy, the two hygienists who clean their teeth.
Today Ms Amy took me aside to tell my how amazing my kids were. How well behaved and well mannered they were, and how rare this is with the great number of kids they see every day. She was amazed that even Lo, at only 4, would go back alone and use please and thank you. She thanked me for whatever it was that we were doing, because they were lovely childen.
I have to tell you that this brought me to tears today. I'm not here to tell you that my kids are perfect angels. They are not. They misbehave and get crazy like every other kid! I feel like I spend a great deal of my time reprimanding them for various things they shouldn't be doing. I have not raised my children alone, and so I cannot sit here and tell you that my parenting skills are so amazing that Ms Amy was complimenting my parental prowess. But I have contributed to their beings... to their manners and ideas and attitudes towards others. I also assume that at least part of who they are has nothing to do with either of us parents, but rather their own genetic make up and temperaments. So I guess I'm gonna claim 33% of their amazing selves..... and let me tell you that having a stranger compliment me on that 33% that I feel in my heart I'm doing right.....well, it made me cry. because lately I haven't been getting the vibe that my 33% is worth shit. and that my skills as a parent are sub-par.
So thank you Ms Amy for making me feel validated as a person and a parent. You have no idea how deeply those words touched my heart.
my kids mean the entire world to me. as i'm sure yours do to you. so... good job on the work you do every day to make them into compassionate human beings.

I always wanna make a Hong Kong building on fire diorama, finally I have done it! This diorama is relatively small, it is only (12Wx16Lx15H)cm, but it is a very busy diorama with lots of action happening.
This is a frictional diorama not based on actual scene. The scratch-built tenement building is based on common 1960-70s style residential buildings. Also the pedestrian flyover is based on a typical Hong Kong's style flyover.
The smoke was made of cotton, and the fire in the apartment was created by Daiso's LED candle lamp.
All vehicles are Hong Kong's '80M Bus Model shop' models but I further weathered and highlighted them by applying layers of brown & black wash. There are only two types of fire truck available from 80M, the Hydraulic Platform (white ladder) and the Turnable Ladder (highest silver ladder) respectively, therefore the fire major pump truck (far left, the one under the pedestrian bridge) was created by modifying a spare hydraulic platform truck model by a bit of scratch-building & repainting.
The policemen & firefighters are Tomytec figures that repainted to Hong Kong's uniform colours. They were all applied with layers of brown wash for high-lighting.
I added various details to make the scene as realistic as to an actual fire scene as much as possible, by adding the water pipes laid on the street by firemen which is common in a fire fighting scene. I also added some water on the street to show water spill from trucks & pipes. Burned debris dropped on the street directly under the burning apartment are also added.
