Praktica MTL 3 / double exposure -accident :)

Hi flickrites! My best friend, fellow flickrite DubbyUB is in the hospital having emergency surgery. She is going to be fine but she is very sad, bored, and lonely. I went to visit her today and all she talks about is flickr! I thought it would be nice if she had some nice comments for her when she returns. Please add your words of encouragement to my best friend and the nicest person you will ever meet! PS. she is pretty pink here from the Percocet!

A responsible stick figure puts his new shoes in serious danger cleaning up after his dog. Shame more Bristol dog owners can't follow his lead (no pun intended...) Sign is outside the churchyard of SS Philip & Jacob Church (Pip 'n' Jay), Tower Hill, Bristol

Went back to Elaine's house after Salsa dancing tonight where we all sat in the garden eating fajitas. Dylan was looking on longingly at the food.

I found this chipmunk trapped in a large plastic basin in my mom's front yard. I heard noises coming from the basin and found him partially submerged in water and soggy plant debris. He looked completely resigned and miserable , and then he sort of looked right up at me, so I got done with my shot and tipped over the container. He sat there in the grass for a moment then scampered across the driveway and let out a single "CHIP!" I took it as a thank you...

PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT IF THIS VIDEO WON'T OPEN FOR YOU.....

Before the US Navy Battleship USS Iowa (BB-61) found her new home in the POLA (Port of Los Angeles), a berth had to be determined. There were many, many possibilities. I was the LA photographer for Pacific Battleship Center, and we were still trying to get the U.S. Navy to award us the stewardship of the historic warship, as was the city of Vallejo. We also had to convince the Harbor Commission of the Port of Los Angeles to give us a berth that would accomodate the ship... including parking, and space for a land-based museum. I was assigned to photograph the many sites around the harbor, and that meant being out on the water! I tried to avoid red tape like it was a plague. As a retired Fire Captain, I went to the Captain in charge of Los Angeles City Fire Department's state-of-the-art Fireboat 2, the Warner L. Lawrence; within the hour we were out in the main channel, and I was getting my photos... including Berth 87, the USS Iowa's present berth in San Pedro, (southern) California, where she now resides as a museum ship. During this great trip around the harbor, I shot this video that shows the Vincent Thomas Bridge, the WWII Victory Ship SS Lane Victory (museum and memorial) a Cruise Ship at the port terminal.

The Challenge of this set is to only use a 50mm focal length and to limit myself this focal length.

This is a photograph from the first running of the Trim AC Bewley's 10 Mile Road Race which was held on Sunday 1st February 2015 at 12:00 in Trim, Co. Meath, Ireland. This race also incorporated the 2015 Meath 10 Mile Road Championships. For the first staging of this event this was an incredible success with almost 800 runners, joggers and walkers talking to the start line. The weather was perfect for running despite the bitter cold temperatures with air temperature of 4C recorded at the start. Some beautiful Spring sunshine helped brighten the day and the roads were clear and dry for racing.

Want to use this photograph or share it? Please read/scroll down a little further to find out how - it's very easy!

The race started on the Trim Athboy Road (the R154) and headed towards the town before making a left turn onto the Trim Dunderry road. The one mile mark comes just after a Y-junction which the race joins back to before the final 600 meters to the finish. Heading north to Dunderry the route takes a left in the middle of the village and heads west for 2 miles on the Dunderry Athboy road. At the next major junction the race takes another left turning south towards Trim town again. One of the only significant hills/drags of the course happens at around the 6.5 mile marker. Miles 7 - 9 are ran on winding roads with nice hedgerows and shelter from any breeze. During these miles you will begin to see the spire of Trim church in the distance. At the Y-Junction from mile one you have 600 meters to go with a final right turn into the industrial estate and the finish line.

The success of today's race is not an accident. Trim AC, and their army of volunteers and help from other Meath athletic clubs, put in huge work to make this race a success.

Today's race adds significantly to Trim AC's reputation for top quality organisation of race events. The 10 mile road race today follows on from the Braveheart 5KM Trail Race which is held annually in June around the beautiful and historical fields of Porchfields and Trim Castle. Today's race could be the begining of one of the region's largest and most popular 10 mile road races.

Are there more photographs from this race? This photograph is part of a larger set of photographs from the Trim AC 10 Mile Road Race 2015. They are available on our Flickr photostream in the album set here www.flickr.com/photos/peterm7/sets/72157650166189770

USING OUR PHOTOGRAPHS - A QUICK GUIDE

Can I use these photographs directly from Flickr on my social media account(s)?

Yes - of course you can! Flickr provides several ways to share this and other photographs in this Flickr set. You can share to: email, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Tumblr, LiveJournal, and Wordpress and Blogger blog sites. Your mobile, tablet, or desktop device will also offer you several different options for sharing this photo page on your social media outlets.

We take these photographs as a hobby and as a contribution to the running community in Ireland. Our only "cost" is our request that if you are using these images: (1) on social media sites such as Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, Twitter,LinkedIn, Google+, etc or (2) other websites, blogs, web multimedia, commercial/promotional material that you must provide a link back to our Flickr page to attribute us.

This also extends the use of these images for Facebook profile pictures. In these cases please make a separate wall or blog post with a link to our Flickr page. If you do not know how this should be done for Facebook or other social media please email us and we will be happy to help suggest how to link to us.

I want to download these pictures to my computer or device?

You can download the photographic image here direct to your computer or device. This version is the low resolution web-quality image. How to download will vary slight from device to device and from browser to browser. However - look for a symbol with three dots 'ooo' or the link to 'View/Download' all sizes. When you click on either of these you will be presented with the option to download the image. Remember just doing a right-click and "save target as" will not work on Flickr.

I want get full resolution, print-quality, copies of these photographs?

If you just need these photographs for online usage then they can be used directly once you respect their Creative Commons license and provide a link back to our Flickr set if you use them. For offline usage and printing all of the photographs posted here on this Flickr set are available free, at no cost, at full image resolution.

Please email petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com with the links to the photographs you would like to obtain a full resolution copy of. We also ask race organisers, media, etc to ask for permission before use of our images for flyers, posters, etc. We reserve the right to refuse a request.

In summary please remember when requesting photographs from us - If you are using the photographs online all we ask is for you to provide a link back to our Flickr set or Flickr pages. You will find the link above clearly outlined in the description text which accompanies this photograph. Taking these photographs and preparing them for online posting does take a significant effort and time. We are not posting photographs to Flickr for commercial reasons. If you really like what we do please spread the link around your social media, send us an email, leave a comment beside the photographs, send us a Flickr email, etc. If you are using the photographs in newspapers or magazines we ask that you mention where the original photograph came from.

I would like to contribute something for your photograph(s)?

Many people offer payment for our photographs. As stated above we do not charge for these photographs. We take these photographs as our contribution to the running community in Ireland. If you feel that the photograph(s) you request are good enough that you would consider paying for their purchase from other photographic providers or in other circumstances we would suggest that you can provide a donation to any of the great charities in Ireland who do work for Cancer Care or Cancer Research in Ireland.

We use Creative Commons Licensing for these photographs

We use the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License for all our photographs here in this photograph set. What does this mean in reality?

The explaination is very simple.

Attribution- anyone using our photographs gives us an appropriate credit for it. This ensures that people aren't taking our photographs and passing them off as their own. This usually just mean putting a link to our photographs somewhere on your website, blog, or Facebook where other people can see it.

ShareAlike – anyone can use these photographs, and make changes if they like, or incorporate them into a bigger project, but they must make those changes available back to the community under the same terms.

Creative Commons aims to encourage creative sharing. See some examples of Creative Commons photographs on Flickr: www.flickr.com/creativecommons/

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:

►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera

►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set

►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone

►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!

You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.

Don't like your photograph here?

That's OK! We understand!

If, for any reason, you are not happy or comfortable with your picture appearing here in this photoset on Flickr then please email us at petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com and we will remove it as soon as possible. We give careful consideration to each photograph before uploading.

I want to tell people about these great photographs!

Great! Thank you! The best link to spread the word around is probably http://www.flickr.com/peterm7/sets

Lantern on the Old City Hall in Bergen, Norway.

The building was originally build in 1558 as a private residence for Christoffer Valkendorf, from 1556 to 1560 the governor for the King of Denmark and Norway in Bergen.

From 1561 onwards, the building gradually became the meeting place for magistrates and in 1568 it was donated to the city of Bergen. It housed the city´s administration, an assembly room, the court room and a prison.

The building was modified to new uses over the centuries. The last major modification took place in 1885. It was restored in 1901 and 1985. Today it serves as the meeting place for the city council.
