Perhaps it was light enough to carry when full, but too heavy once it was empty?!!!! This was a photo opportunity that I would have happily not had, but then decided to use it as a reminder to say: "PLEASE don't leave your garbage in our natural areas. Much as I love Tim Horton's coffee, I (and my friends) don't enjoy seeing your empty containers when I'm out on a walk!" Our natural areas would be so full of garbage if it wasn't for those who pick up every piece of garbage every single time they go out for a walk, sometimes every day. Thank you to those of you who willingly help to keep garbage out of the parks. Taken in Fish Creek Park on 31 October 2013, somewhere between Bebo Grove and Shannon Terrace.

The pet robot *AIBO* was born at Sony in 1999 as the world’s first home-entertainment robot. About 150,000 robots were built but production and sales ended in 2006 and technical support was also discontinued in 2014. Today former Sony engineers provide unofficial maintenance services for owners who remain firmly attached to their *AIBO* robots. Since 2015, the temple in Japan has also provided religious services for *AIBO* robots that no longer function, to return their spirits to heaven.

This juvenile Grey Heron usually fishes of this fallen log in the local park but today the parks terrapin was in the way. Rather than step over it this juvenile kept pecking at any body part which stuck out of the shell until the Terrapin wisely slid off the log and back into the water. The Heron then carried on fishing.
Tony (Diamanx), my dad, has been in hospital since last saturday afternoon (18th) because we had an accident whilst working on our house extension.
A large brick and mortar lintel fell from above a window and hit Tony on the head, smashing his face into the window sill. He has broken nearly every bone in his face, including both jaws, nose, the bones around his eyes and cheeks and he has a fractured skull.
He was in intensive care at the Royal Berkshire hospital in Reading from saturday afternoon until thursday lunchtime, when he got transferred to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.
He has been doing quite well since the accident, his swelling has gone down alot and he managed to say a few quiet words for the first time today.
He had a Trachioctomy on sunday afternoon to help with his breathing and he has had a number of scans and x-rays during the week, which have thankfully shown no damage to his brain or neck.
The doctors in Oxford plan to operate on Tonys face injuries on monday (27th), it will probably be a 4 or 5 hour operation and if it goes well, it should then be a case of waiting to recover.
He will probably be out of action for about 2 or 3 months, with full recovery not expected until perhaps early next year.
Thankfully, the eye specialists confirmed that his vision is fine, which is a big relief because of the photography. I'm sure that as soon as he's home and able to use his laptop again he'll be back on flickr adding a few photos and catching up on a few things.
I will put an update on here when i get time to let you know how things went on monday. Please leave any messages you may have for him as a comment on this photo.

Monday 27th April - Tony had his operation today at about 11.30am. He was in theatre for about 4 hours and thankfully it went well and he is ok. He had 6 or 7 metal plates inserted to hold his face bones together and his jaw was realighned.
The biggest concern that the doctors had was that he would loose his vision because of the bleeding behind his eyes but so far his eyes are working fine and he can see well. he was in good spirits after waking up, and could, if the next few days go ok, be home by the weekend!
He thanks you all for your messages.

The government put a lot of money in promoting the use of public transport. On the other hand this tram promotes new car sales. Hmmm....
