Dorchester - the county town of Dorset. There has been a settlement here since Roman times. There was plenty of museums to visit, although we only went to a couple of them.

Shortly after circa 307, enlarged after circa 341. Only Roman town house visible
in Britain. H-shaped west wing with hypocast and mosaic pavements. South
range added (also in C4) containing 1 heated room and 1 kitchen. Well north
of south range. Excavated 1938.

I walked around the back of the Roman Town House, while the school kids moved to a different section of the grounds with their teachers (to have a group photo taken by some pensioners on a bench as I recall).
The whole structure here is covered by this shelter building. Not sure if you can go in or not.
Low roof round here, so you have to bend down.

Rhino poaching in Assam is a major environmental issues in India which continues in the region of Kaziranga National Park, Manas National Park and some other grasslands of Assam. The one horn rhino or Indian rhino is surviving in the north-east corner of India, Assam. Kaziranga National Park, Pobitora in Marigaon district and Orang National Park in Darrang district of Assam account almost 95% of the total wild One horned rhino in the world. These rhinos are inhabited most of the flood plain of the Indogangetic and Brahmaputra riverine tracts and the neighboring foothills.
Though authorities at Assam's Kaziranga National Park have deployed an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle or UAV, a very small aircraft with camera, to safeguard the one-horned rhino from poachers, and in spite of the best efforts of forest guards , Rhino pouching is still very much high in the region. High demand of rhino horn from home and international market, in false belief of its medicinal value and traditional use, has increased its illegal trade. Illegal migrants encroaching the nearby areas of the National park are abetting the poaching.
This feature was first published in a slightly different format in a Maltese transport magazine. The text is a little out of date, given recent events in Malta., but this is what I wrote in 2008:
"The small County Durham firm, Armstrongs of Ebchester, contributed four coaches to the Maltese bus fleet. In this feature we focus on ‘twins’ UUP 2/3N, Bedford YRQs with Plaxton Elite II bodies, which were new in 1974. In the main picture from the collection of Dave Herron, we see them together at Ebchester garage in 1977. The pair passed to Lockeys of West Auckland in 1978 and thence with that operator’s business to OK Motor Services in 1982.
They were exported to Malta in 1984. The first picture by Dave Farrier shows UUP 2N in green livery as Y-0607 in 1991. The heavy binds provided some protection against the sun but ventilation was a problem on the ex-UK coaches. The second picture by Stuart Harvey shows the same bus sixteen years later. Ventilation has improved and, like many Elites, it has gained a new front panel and simpler, more contemporary side trim.
The third picture by the author shows UUP 3N in 2007 in its current guise as FBY 016 in the fleet of George Farrugia Coaches of Victoria. It previously operated as Y-0466 on Malta and Y-0921 on Gozo. It retains non-opening side windows and many original Plaxton fittings, with additional Duple Dominant-style chrome trim".

Please drive slowly! Amphibians migration. Nearby there is a natural reserve with a large pond. Where the frogs come from and why they are not already at the pond, I don't know. Oberriet, Switzerland, March 28, 2014.
As I was shooting the Indiana Southern train in the previous shot, I received word that a loaded coal train was about to head out of Bear Run Mine. Hearing a warrant for INRD 9011 given over the radio, I was expecting a couple of their SD9043MAC's with a 100 car train for Merom Power Plant; instead, I got this train layout sized train of former C&NW hoppers with coal headed to a paper mill in Mosinee, Wisconsin. Not quite what I was expecting, but now I have a prototype for when my model railroad pals tell me that my short train isn't for real!
