This collage was made entirely from magazine strips with a technique I call "painting with paper." I cut the paper into different shapes and layer them in such a way that they look almost like the brushstrokes in a painting.

Not sure if this is a Plain Sunbird which I spotted along Sime Track.

This old house in southwest Oklahoma caught my attention. The current residents are two large beautiful white owls.

The Carrizo Plain National Monument in Central California is noteworthy because the San Andreas Fault runs along it eastern border, beneath the Temblor Range visible in the distance in this image. It is possible to observe the historic shifts in the earth's tectonic plates where Wallace Creek crosses the fault as it descends out of the Temblors. The creeks bed has been offset by over 400 ft by the earth's crust movement.

This lego model 1957 Chevrolet 210 Sport Coupe has been built for Flickr LUGNuts 56th Build Challenge - 'Plain Jane' - the first half of a two month challenge to build a 'plain Jane' model, and then spend the second month customising it.
In this case I have taken the lower specification Chevrolet 210 from the 1957 catalogue. Missing some of the distinctive trim and options of the more glamorous Bel Air, the 210 looks very similar, sharing the Bel Air style side spear (but losing the rippled stainless steel panel section). This vehicle is modelled in two tone black over white, and was availaible in most of the colours that were optional in the 1957 catalogue.
Also present is the Sport Coupe, two-door pillarless hardtop. This is the second most glamorous bodystyle behind the rare Nomad two-door wagon.
This is not the first 1957 Chevrolet I have modelled, so the form and function are quite well developed. The model features body-on-frame construction, and lego piston vee-four engine (mimicing the package of the V8), live rear axle suspension, independent front suspension and rear-wheel-drive. The body features opening bonnet (hood), boot (trunk), and two coupe doors.
Stay tuned next month for some customising of this iconic classic American car.
