Located on a windswept hill in eastern Montana, the Battle of the Little Bighorn occurred on June 25 and 26, 1876. General George Custer and the men of the 7th Cavalry were defeated by a band of Lakota Indian warriors. Commonly known as Custer's Last Stand, there was a total of 268 US casualities, including all the men under Custer's immediate command at Last Stand Hill. Today the site is administered by the National Park Service.

Up before the lark this morning 'cos it wasn't raining. Out to take a few pics down by Rocky Point looking across Indian Arm.

It's been at least a year since I baked bread. All things considered, this one is not too shabby. I haven't had any granulated sugar in the house in a long time but I found some light brown sugar in the freezer. I think I will use it in the recipe from now on.

Plain White Bread

9 oz (300 ml) water

4 tablespoons non fat dry milk powder

1 1/2 tablespoons butter

1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt

3 tablespoons light brown sugar

3 cups bread flour

1 heaping teaspoon rapid rise yeast.

I'm lazy. I put everything into a bread machine and select the dough cycle. 90 minutes later I knead it a few times on a floured surface and put it into a loaf pan sprayed with Pam.

Proof it in the oven with just the light turned on until it rises properly (about an inch above the edge of the pan). Bake in a preheated 350° oven for about 30 minutes.

Greetings mate! I love voyaging forth into nature to contemplate poetry, physics, the golden ratio, and the Tao te Ching! What's your favorite epic poetry reflecting epic landscapes? I recently finished a book titled Epic Poetry for Epic Landscape Photographers:

Did you know that John Muir, Thoreau, and Emerson all loved epic poetry and poets including Shakespeare, Milton, Homer, and Robert Burns?

I recently finished my fourth book on Light Time Dimension Theory, much of which was inspired by an autumn trip to Zion!

www.facebook.com/lightimedimensiontheory/

Via its simple principle of a fourth expanding dimension, LTD Theory provides a unifying, foundational *physical* model underlying relativity, quantum mechanics, time and all its arrows and asymmetries, and the second law of thermodynamics. The detailed diagrams demonstrate that the great mysteries of quantum mechanical nonlocality, entanglement, and probability naturally arise from the very same principle that fosters relativity alongside light's constant velocity, the equivalence of mass and energy, and time dilation.

The Plains Zebra in Mokala National Park tend to have very pale hindquarters.

In general observation, one may see the female junco as a drab bird with dull color. However, upon detailed study, the markings are quite beautiful and the upper feathering around the neck and head take on a bluish hue in proper light. Rather than a Plain Jane, I see her as a Marvelous Martha!

My first time inside the historic theater, for the last in the summer series by the Silent Film Society. See marquee photo for more info (a photo of this theater's marquee was my first Flickr post six years ago, and I've wanted to go in this theater for about 9-10 years)

Something from yesterday's trip to the greenhouse. Thanks to Rona for such a nice display in our Metro section!
