61 econoline pickup, NO A/C,pb,ps disk brakes, gps, air bags, dvd player, onstar, auto trans, cruise control, seat belts (yet). NOW THAT'S a TRUCK
I've made this little scene just to show some progress, but this pickup is actually going to be added to a large construction scene I'm planning. The idea is it might be the site foremans, or maybe I'll get it pulling a little trailer with a digger, but I'm not 100% sure yet.
I've never done a 'little' car before and to start me off on this route I looked a lots of little lego pickups and decided the one made by William Dumond was the scale and style I was going for. The front end and body is almost an exact copy of his work, with a few minor changes (it's also 1 stud shorter). I've made a few adjustments to the cab and then thought I'd make a little truck cover for the pickup bed, there's also a little tow bar on the back.
I've tried something a little different in this image. I've adjusted the focus point to give some foreground blur. If it's something you like I'll try it again, if it doesn't look so good oh well!

For this truck, I was going for something that would fit in well on the farm. My favorite part of the truck is the 2x2 curved slopes that are used on the side of the truck to make it less boxy and more realistic. It also has a functional tail gate and ball hitch for towing.

These small trucks were offered from 1972 to 1979. This one appears to be appreciated and well-cared for.
Clearly, trucks are my forte among minifig scale automobiles. This one started life with the intention of just extrapolating my farm truck. I wanted to try a different hood, though. Ultimately, this forced the inner structure in some different directions, so other than the wheelbase and front grill, it was mostly re-engineered.
A pickup driver was seriously injured when he was struck by an elderly woman recklessly crossing the street. This is yet another reason why pickup trucks are unsafe and should be removed from the streets. The pedestrian (Mrs. Palmer) was not charged with any crime. She got off scot free, of course, and more than a little cocky besides because pedestrians think they are King of the Road.
The truth of course is quite different.
"Vehicles struck and killed 7,388 pedestrians in 2021, compared to 4,302 in 2010, according to federal crash data tabulated by The Hill. Pedestrian deaths rose by another 5 percent in the first half of 2022. "

Brazil contained the last factory in the world that produced the T2 series of Type 2, which ceased production on 31 December 2013, due to the introduction of more stringent safety regulations in the country.
For 1940, 1/2-ton pickups adopted the look of that year's Standard-series cars -- the first time since 1932 that trucks shared car styling. This included a vee'd grille, pointed hood, and headlights mounted into the fenders, giving these haulers a modern, classy look. Power continued to come from a choice of two flathead V-8 engines: a 136-cubic-inch 60-horsepower unit, or a 221-cid 85-hp version.

Heading into electronics, here's a closer look at the newly-designated Pickup Here area. Note that the shelving along the bottom of the picture (which can also be seen in the last shot) is Kmart-esque in that you literally are boxed in to the electronics section.
