Went to Vestmannaeyjar last Friday and stayed there over the over the Weekend.

Vestmannaeyjar are an small archipelago just few km from the south shore of Iceland. People have lived in Vestmannaeyjar (specifically in Heimaey the largest island) since the first settlement in Iceland around 900.

In 1973 was an eruption in Heimaey and lava flowed over a part of the town and a big part got buried under ash.

The lava in the foreground came from the eruption in 1973. The two islands are Elliðaey (left) and Bjarnarey (right).

In the background you can see the south shore of Iceland.

I was driving on the road that borders the marsh, and I could not resist.

ENGLISH

Lanuza is a small village located in the Pyrenean of Huesca, Aragón, Spain. It is in the left border of the marsh to which it gives name, in that dam up waters of the Gállego river. Lanuza belongs to the municipal term of Sallent de Gállego, in the region of High Gállego.

The name of Lanuza seems to derive from the latinized celtic term moor or wool, that means “slope”, occurring the circumstance that the surrounding place to the town (today submerged) was in its day occupied by extensive prairies and grass. Its existence appears documented from 13th century and in 1488 already it counted on 20 homes. Along with Sallent, it formed one of the three historical "quiñones" in which the Valley of Tena was divided administratively.

Prosperously and eminently cattle dealer in her origins, the construction of the dam in 1976 caused the gradual and forced unhabitation of the locality until being vacated completely in 1978. Victim of plunder and the abandonment, in the decade of the 90 old inhabitants was able to recover the not submerged properties and initiate a revitalization process still active.

CASTELLANO

NO HUGE GRAPHICS OR MULTIPLE INVITES IN YOUR COMMENTS PLEASE, NONE IS BETTER

Not everything in life is as we expect. There are times when nothing goes as planned, there are times when problems are the only ones we get. We even feel no one is closer to us and we feel so alone even in the crowd, thinking about the solutions for all the problems we have. We even dream about having a single solution which solves all our problems in a second, like pressing a remote button and the whole scenario changes and there is complete happiness around. But reality is brutal, it kind of makes us think about those problems till we are exhausted and down. But there is an interesting thing about these "problems". If we think the problem can be solved, why do we hurt ourself trying to solve it ourselves, or if we feel if it can never be solved, then why hurt ourselves thinking about something which never exists. No matter how down you are its upto you to put your heads up and walk across the problems or put your head down and hurt yourself thinking about them when life is fast moving away from you. Thanks for all your visits, comments and fav

Human rights and the rule of law

(e) To contribute to the monitoring and to the promotion and protection of human rights, with particular attention to sexual and gender-based violence, and to recommend action to the competent authorities, with a view to fighting impunity;

(f) To support, within its capabilities, efforts aimed at strengthening the capacity of the Governments of Chad and the Central African Republic and civil society through training in international human rights standards, and efforts to put an end to recruitment and use of children by armed groups;

The Security Council, acting under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations, also:

(a) Authorizes the European Union to deploy, for a period of one year from the date that its initial operating capability is declared by the European Union in consultation with the Secretary-General, an operation (hereinafter referred to as “the European Union operation”) aimed at supporting the elements referred to in paragraphs 2 to 4, and decides that this operation shall be authorized to take all necessary measures, within its capabilities and its area of operation in eastern Chad and the north-eastern Central African Republic, to fulfil the following functions, in accordance with the arrangement to be concluded between the European Union and the United Nations, in liaison with the Governments of Chad and the Central African Republic:

Seasonal colours are at their best in Ballaglass Glen in this island. This was my last stop for this fall before I travel to North Western fells in the Lake district. Sturnus unicolor

Normalmente ponen cuatro huevos.

Today was a good day! The sun was shining, the birds were singing, it was 70 degrees out, and things are blooming!! I just love this time of year. I mean, to watch the world around you wake up and rejoice, is just amazing. Adam and I took a little romp around the neighborhood this afternoon and this pear tree caught my eye, The blooms were so pretty and were popping out everywhere. Hope you guys enjoy looking at them as much as I did!

Oh, and I'm on Adele kick these days. Enjoy the lyrics to another one of her songs!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Found myself today singing out your name,

You said I'm crazy,

If I am I'm crazy for you.

Sometimes sitting in the dark wishing you were here

Turns me crazy,

But it's you who makes me lose my head.

And every time I'm meant to be acting sensible

You drift into my head

And turn me into a crumbling fool.

Tell me to run and I'll race,

If you want me to stop I'll freeze,

And if you are me gonna leave, just hold me closer baby,

And make me crazy for you.

Crazy for you.

Lately with this state I'm in I can't help myself but spin.

I wish you'd come over,

Send me spinning closer to you.

My oh my, how my blood boils, it's sweet taste for you,

Strips me down bare

And gets me into my favourite mood.

I keep on trying, fighting these feelings away,

But the more I do,

The crazier I turn into.

Pacing floors and opening doors,

Hoping you'll walk through

And save me boy,

Because I'm too crazy for you.

Crazy for you

. .. * .. * .. * .. * .. * .. * .. * .. Nembo GT 1968 .. * .. * .. * .. * .. * .. * .. * .. * ..

Chasis estrenar y motor boxer Lancia Flavia

View Large and on Black. Looks more like a painting, less like a photo. It's supposed to look like a painting, and "over processed".

Watch out, because she's gunna get you. Ok folks, here you go: The first of two insane edits, edited with Corel Painter 9.5. I was going for the "painting" effect. I'm very proud. I think It turned out amazing. If anyone wants to see the originals let me know. Also, my bone structure an everything like that: Not edited. I really do have those type of cheeks, and those lips, and that shaped nose, and those shaped eyes. I just don't have the light green irises, the platinum hair, or the flawless skin. Unfortunately...

Also, this is my alter ego. I really feel if I cracked my personal shell, I would be this daring, dangerous little kitten. Too bad, because that's just my Ideal. I'm far too happy-go-lucky/ real person to pull this off. Oh, only in my dreams. At least I can look it for now. That's the best part about photography: You can just be YOU.

After some comments: I would really like to know how people can rave about photos that are so over processed, like HDR photos, and other 'shopped photos, but when it comes to a photo turned painting (mind you a majority digital artists works this way) or EVERY edit of some woman, gets so much crap. How is adding a dosage of fantasy so horrible in comparison to the extreme edits of fashion photograph? I guess I'm beginning to rant, but I honestly do appreciate the opinions. I just wish people would approach this from a digital artist's P.O.V. rather than a photographers. And by digital artist I don't mean someone who does post processing, and editing, I'm talking about someone who creates art from a photo. What ever though.

PS: When rating photos, don't put something like ':) I like!' with a rating of 4/10. Just an example. It not only pisses me off, but it pisses off EVERYONE who gets ratings like that.

La, la, la. Sorry for the rant, I'm in a pissy mood...

Anyways I was going for something a little elf/ fairy/ nymph ish.

Here is the original. It was dusk out, so I just used the built in flash.

Rizal Park is situated in the heart of the city of Manila, Philippines. It is at the northern end of Roxas Boulevard, overlooking Manila Bay.

Rizal Park's history began in the early 1700s during the Spanish rule. While Manila's social and business activities were confined within Intramuros, a small area just south of the walls was cleared to prevent sneak attacks from the patriotic natives. The area was shaped like a small moon (lunette) and thus was named Luneta. The Park was also called Bagumbayan (English: New Town) in Spanish colonial era, and later known as Luneta.

Luneta has been the site of some of the most significant moments in Philippine history . Among them are the execution of Dr. José Rizal on December 30, 1896, whose martyred death made him a hero of the Philippine Revolution. (It was officially renamed Rizal Park in tribute to him.); the Declaration of Philippine Independence from American rule on June 4, 1946; and the political rallies of Ferdinand Marcos and Corazon Aquino in 1986.

The monument also serves as the point of origin or Kilometre Zero to all other cities in the Philippines

A lot of people have asked what comes next.

The answer? We don't know any better than you do.

I know that I met this amazing, funny, sweet person, and I'm completely wild over her. That I've had her in every minute of my life for the last week, and that every minute felt right. And that tomorrow everything changes.

After that?

I really can't say. I wish I knew. Really, we're taking it minute by minute and sometimes it feels like we're spinning out of control.

We say our strange goodbyes and go back to phonecalls and webcams - the technologies that once seemed fresh and exciting are a step backward; a step apart. It's going to be hard. I know that much.

I'm hoping a California trip is in the cards.

But I can only see as far as Monday. School begins. Xelia will be gone. We're left with memories and marks; a cold spot in the bed where someone is missing.

La Folle Journée or the Follies of a Day :

La Folle Journée is a French annual classical music festival held in Nantes. It is the largest classical music festival in France.

The festival's name refers to the Pierre Beaumarchais play The Marriage of Figaro, whose alternative title is La Folle Journée ("The Follies of a Day").

René Martin founded the La Folle Journée festival in 1995, with the intention of presenting short classical music concerts for diverse audience, on one day. The primary venue at the time was the Cité des congrès de Nantes. Since its founding, the festival has expanded to cover 5 days of events. Each year focuses on a theme, initially on composers such as Mozart (1995) and Beethoven (1996), but since expanding to encompass subjects such as Tolstoy's Ivan Ilyich (2001).

The festival has expanded to other cities in Pays de la Loire, including Challans, Cholet, Fontenay-le-Comte, La Roche-sur-Yon, La Flèche, Sablé-sur-Sarthe, Saint Nazaire, Saumur, L'Île-d'Yeu and Fontevraud-l'Abbaye. Other cities have developed their own festivals based on the format of La Folle Journée, including Madrid, Bilbao, Tokyo and Rio de Janeiro.

First try on close up macro shot. I don't have a macro lens, just using a cheap $25 pack of three close up filter on the Tamron 17-50 F2.8 VC. The result isn't too bad especially for just $25 investment! But I'm thinking to get a real macro lens now.......

It had been snowing all along the west side of Lake Tahoe, so we decide to go north to test our luck. We rounded the north shore and into Nevada, and the storm clouds were everywhere. At that time we payed the $4 to park at Sand Harbor and checkout out all the spots.

We settled on the North-West facing cove that everyone photographs. This area has SO many options for photos. Which is great for numerous reasons. First, you do not have to battle royale over compositions while the light is good (Jim and I seem to always have to roshambo for comps). Second, your photo friends do not have to be in your photo.

We both strolled out with wading boots and began to play. Wading boots/waders are a must for this site, especially if you do not want to fall in.

You will see numerous sand harbor photos littering my photo stream over the next few weeks, can't help it... that afternoon was that good. All are long exposures, done in mid day.

Obama said it was mandatory that the 10 to 20 trillion dollar (with debt servicing) "stimulus" was passed right away or we are doomed - it was voted on and passed without those voting in the affirmative for it even reading it.

Once passed, the vast majority of the "stimulus" spending is deferred to 2010 which coincidentally is an election year for the politicians who voted for passage. An inference is that the only crisis was the socialists getting reelected after their policy of fascism failed to turn around the economy. A study of history will reveal their concern - no fascist/socialist enterprise has been successful at improving the quality of life for its citizens at any time in human history. No civilization has successfully taxed and spent its way out of a recession in the history of humanity.

Those who hold America's debt are frantically calling for a "world currency", knowing full well, that the certain forthcoming hyperinflation in America will significantly devalue the US Dollar and their investments will then be worth pennies on the dollar.

Now, Obama says that health care must be nationalized right away or we are doomed.

Now, Obama says that Cap and Trade (destroy and nationalize the energy sector) bill must be passed right away or we are doomed.

Now, Obama says that trillions of dollars of new taxes must be passed right away or we are doomed. These new taxes are on top of the trillions of dollars in new taxes that were already included in his "stimulus" bill and budget.

Is there a pattern? Does "we" refer to his constituents or perhaps himself and his political cronies?

No civilization has reversed a downward unemployment spiral by shrinking its private sector and growing its government bureaucracy.

The countries who have tried the fascist/socialist experiment are now moving back to more capitialistic free market policies - why? because shrinking their private sector and burdening it with increased government confiscatory/redistribution policies created misery in the form of unemployment, loss of individual freedom, lower quality of life and medical care rationing, shortages and misery.

wiki.answers.com/Q/Name_and_explain_two_effects_of_price_...

When thinking about price controls, think of the supply and demand curves and remember that with a price control, it is impossible for a price to get into equilibrium. With that in mind, we can identify two problems that result from this.

1. A shortage/oversupply of the good. If there is a price ceiling, you have a shortage (a la gasoline during the price controls of the 70's.) If there is a floor, you have overproduction (a la ethanol. Which, granted, is subsidized, but that is effectively like a price floor). *Note* also consider the housing markets where rent control is present.

2. An inefficient allocation of resources. With ethanol being subsidized, we witnessed a massive increase in the price of corn. The market did not want this, and thus we saw an inefficient allocation of resources.

Should National Health Care pass in this country, I will not know where or when I will die, but I will know how - substandard medical care, denial of care, lack of r&d due to price controls and rationing emposed by the government - all based on decisions by bureaucrats, actuaries, accountants and political appointees who I do not know and who do not know me or my specific needs or wishes ... and more importantly do not care ... they care only about passing the next government audit cycle for cost control.

PLEASE STOP THIS TYRANNY

No pasa nada. Corto y empiezo otra vez.

Marc Chagall.

Melaleuca citrina or Callistemon citrinus is a shrub growing to 5 m (20 ft) tall but more usually in the range 1–3 m (3–10 ft) high and wide. It has hard, fibrous or papery bark and its young growth is usually covered with soft, silky hairs. Its leaves are arranged alternately and are 26–99 mm (1–4 in) long, 4–25 mm (0.2–1 in) wide, hard, flat, narrow egg-shaped with the narrower end near the base and with a pointed but not sharp end. There are between 7 and 26 branching veins clearly visible on both ides of the leaves and a large number of distinct oil glands visible on both surfaces of the leaves.

The flowers are red and arranged in spikes on the ends of branches which continue to grow after flowering and sometimes also in the upper leaf axils. The spikes are up to 45–70 mm (2–3 in) in diameter and 60–100 mm (2–4 in) long with up to 80 individual flowers. The petals are 3.9–5.8 mm (0.15–0.23 in) long and fall off as the flower ages. There are 30 to 45 stamens in each flower, with their "stalks" (the filaments) red and "tips" (the anthers) purple.

a rare, quiet and calm moment captured of caesar just a few moments ago..usually during the day he's so full of energy and just wants to play fetch with his soccer ball and while i got a bunch of shots of him trying to catch a ball in the backyard, those looked boring and plain to me. they show off his physical abilities but i wanted to show his softer, more gentle side.

it took a few minutes to get him to lay like this..the treat i had in my one hand initially made him even more excited but i waited it out and it paid off...if there's one thing this dog teaches me, it's patience. i do love him for that as well as the incredible companionship he provides us all.

technically, someone had asked me about my indoor shots and while i'm not really great at using my (external) flash..i have figured out that bouncing it over and behind my head works best..i shoot with the camera on manual as well as the flash, that way i can take a few test shots then adjust +/- a few stops if need be.

The Struggle

by Begary

Have you ever traveled down a road to find there was no end

For every corner that you turned there was another bend

The faster that you walked, the longer that it seemed

And you were all alone, in this crazy dream

Crazy dreams that you dream alone

When the lights go out and no one's home

You see the day for what it's been

And you wish to God you could stay clean

The morning brings you to the road you didn't want to travel

and every step you take again makes your life unravel

You keep on walking down the path, wondering what you'll find,

and pray that when you find it you wont have lost your mind

It's halfway through another day and you're looking for those dreams

knowing they can make your life better than it seems

If only to forget your pain for a little while

you can travel down the road just another mile

The night is now upon you, the miles are on your face,

But you keep going forward to your final place.

You know the end is coming soon, you see it straight ahead

And if they don't forget you, you never will be dead

Stained glass windows by Károly Kernstok (Budapest, 1873 - 1940)

www.google.hu/search?q=kernstok+k%C3%A1roly&hl=hu&amp...

One of Hungary's most influential early twentieth century artists, Karoly Kernstok first studied painting techniques at the Budapest School of Design. He then went to Munich in 1892 to study under Simon Hollosy. Karoly Kernstok concluded his formal education at the Academie Julian, Paris, from 1893 to 1895 and at Benczur's School, Budapest, from 1896 to 1899. Kernstok's first major exhibitions took place in Budapest in 1897. Three years later one of his paintings was awarded a bronze medal at the Universal Exposition in the United States.

Karoly Kernstok's initial works were figure studies and genre depictions, largely in the vein of Hungarian turn-of-the-century early social realist painting. By 1906, however, his art began exploring stylized elements and postimpressionist techniques, and thus he became a leading exponent of modernism. In 1910, Karoly Kernstok was a founding member of the Nyolcak (Group of Eight) painters. Briefly this important movement advocated expressionism and an emphasis upon the body within space. It drew upon such divergent forms as Art Nouveau, Fauvism and native Hungarian art forms. The Nyolcak was also somewhat political and, through the art of its participants, attempted to move Habsburg Hungary toward a democratic republic. Karoly Kernstok's 1910 painting, Riders on the Shore, became a major catalyst for the art of Nyolcak (Group of Eight). During this period, Karoly Kernstok designed and painted major frescoes and glass windows for the Schiffer-villa (1911) and the County Hall, Debrecen.

Karoly Kernstok moved to Berlin in 1919. He both lived and exhibited in that city until his 1926 return to Hungary. For the following fourteen years the artist continued to paint and etch major works of art, often exploring and incorporating elements of ancient Etruscan art. As well, Karoly Kernstok established an art school in the Nyergesújfalu region of Hungary.

Today the art of Karoly Kernstok is found in most major Hungarian collections, including the Hungarian National Gallery, Budapest

Taken from the garage of my Sister's home in Virginia Beach. A lot of thunder and lightning, and all I was able to get is this one shot. I definitely missed out on a few potential winners. Any hesitation equates to a miss. I'll be better prepared next lightning storm... I hope. That said, I'll take this one... it's my best so far.

It never ceases to amaze me how much flotsam and jetsam is washed up on the beach after a stormy/windy day.

Some of it is the sort of stuff you would want to see - wonderfully twisted pieces of wood weathered into soft and subtle hues. Great piles of seaweed studded with thousands of shells glittering in the sunlight.

Then there's the other stuff ...

Plastic bottles in their hundreds, some containing liquid of indeterminate origin. Shoes in their dozens. Tangled masses of man-made fishing net. Oil drums. Plastic crates. The list is endless ...

But this had to be one of the strangest things I have ever found ...

Somewhere in a land bordering the Atlantic ocean there is a farmer with a three wheeled tractor wondering where his wheel went. Well I can tell him, because I found it ...

Fully five feet tall with a seemingly unworn tyre. [Probably released from a container washed from a ship ... someone I know who works in the shipping industry once told me that most container ships lose at least one container each trip ...]

Someone had found it before me [down at the less visited end of the beach, near the Ministry of Defence firing range ... who says I don't live in an idyllic part of the world!] and had been rolling the wheel along the beach and had left it standing upright on the sand.

Made for an interesting photo though!

Back in November 2012 I finally saw Madama Butterfly, my all time favourite opera, live. There were evidently a few in the audience who had never seen it or even know of the story - during the applause for the performers, the singer who had the role of B.F. Pinkerton was heckled. In jest, ofcourse.

Then I got to thinking why it is that I like this opera so much. Why do I gravitate towards heart shattering "love" stories where the heroine almost invariably dies (mortally or spiritually) for a man who, on reflection, can more or less be described as the embodiment of fluff... read: Swan Lake (my favourite ballet), The Little Mermaid (the original Hans Christian Andersen story that i first read as a child, not the Disney-ised crap).... Is it because in mortal or spiritual death I can believe that the purity of these heroines' love is preserved?

B.F. Pinkerton offered Cio Cio San nothing but a fog of unreal romance - petals, bubbles, rainbows, glitter... promises of forever, undying love, integrity, songs, poetry... beautiful but fleeting and ultimately insincere.

Why do lesser men, with sweet tongues but with false hearts, attract such extreme devotion and sacrifice? Lately I've been wishing that Cio Cio San had a chance to exact vengeance on Pinkerton...

You took my heart and you held it in your mouth

And, with a word all my love came rushing out

And, every whisper, it's the worst, emptied out by a single word

There is a hollow in me now

So I put my faith in something unknown

I'm living on such sweet nothing

But I'm trying to hope with nothing to hold

I'm living on such sweet nothing

And it's hard to learn

And it's hard to love

When you're giving me such sweet nothing

Sweet nothing, sweet nothing

You're giving me such sweet nothing

It isn't easy for me to let it go

Cause

I've swallowed every single word

And

Every whisper, every sigh

Eats away at this heart of mine

And there is a hollow in me now

So I put my faith in something unknown

I'm living on such sweet nothing

But I'm trying to hope with nothing to hold

I'm living on such sweet nothing

And it's hard to learn

And it's hard to love

When you're giving me such sweet nothing

Sweet nothing, sweet nothing

You're giving me such sweet nothing

And it's not enough

To tell me that you care

When, we both know the words are empty air

You give me nothing

Man how I loathe doing HDR work. My eyes and brain know it's not natural, and my tendency is to edit them into oblivion and make them look non HDR. I had to force myself away from it this time.

This image would be impossible to expose without HDR. I didn't actually meter the difference between outside light and what it was inside the cave, but I'm betting it was about 7 - 9 stops difference at the brightest to darkest.

I hate trying to get colors balanced and what not.

Anyway. This is a stitch of 13 HDR images (from a total of 39 RAWs), shot in 3 rows of 4 (plus one straggler somewhere).

I can't wait to get a panoramic head for my tripod. That'll make these things so much better. Autopano was having a heck of a time trying to figure out how to stitch it. It still has some defects. Oh well. It just gives me an excuse to go back :)

This old little station is called "Halte Royal d'Ardenne" and was build in 1874 by King Leopold II.

The castle at the top of the hill, right above the station, was reconverted to a hotel for the rich and famous. King Leopold II wanted this place to be the touristic heart of Belgium.

During WWI the hotel was badly damaged and the station was closed off in 1919. A couple of years later the hotel was reopened, but station remained closed.

The hotel was demolished during the 1970's.

When we arrived here, we thought we'd be the only ones here. To our surprise there was a tent in the middle with two people. They were probably more surprised then we. Not much later a familly came to make a bonfire and bbq. They brought there kids and dogs. Even a couple of axes to chop down trees on the hill for the fire. After they left around 1 in the morning we went to sleep under the stars.

I sort of wake up, because i don't know what's happening around me. Flashlights are waving, people are yelling. What the hell is going on. And then.....out of the blue.....there's music. Loud music and even laserbeams. A group of locals brought a aggregate, cables, laptop and laser unit to do a rave party at 4.30 in the morning.

a wonderful experience all together.

Ferrari Testarossa

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"The Ferrari Testarossa (Type F110) is a 12-cylinder mid-engine sports car manufactured by Ferrari, which went into production in 1984 as the successor to the Ferrari Berlinetta Boxer.

The Pininfarina-designed car was originally produced from 1984 to 1991, with two model revisions following the ending of Testarossa production and the introduction of the 512 TR and F512 M which were produced from 1992 to 1996.

Almost 10,000 Testarossas, 512 TRs, and F512 Ms were produced, making it one of the most-produced Ferrari models, despite its high price and exotic design.

In 1995, the F512 M retailed for $220,000 (£136,500)."

"The Testarossa is a two-door coupé that premiered at the 1984 Paris Auto Show.

All versions of the Testarossa had the power fed through the wheels from a rear-mounted, five-speed manual transmission. The rear mid-engine, rear-wheel drive layout (engine between the axles but behind the cabin) keeps the centre of gravity in the middle of the car, which increases stability and improves the car's cornering ability, and thus results in a standing weight distribution of 40% front: 60% rear.

The original Testarossa was re-engineered for 1992 and released as the 512 TR, at the Los Angeles Auto Show, effectively as a completely new car, and an improved weight distribution of 41% front: 59% rear.

The F512 M was introduced at the 1994 Paris Auto Show."

(...)

"The Testarossa sports a 4.9 litre (4,943 cc or 301.6 cu in) Ferrari flat-12 engine mid mounted."

(...)

"The Ferrari Testarossa can accelerate from 0–100 kilometres per hour (62 mph) in 5.3 seconds and from 0–60 miles per hour (97 km/h) in 5.2 seconds and on to 100 mph (161 km/h) in 11.40 seconds."

(...)

"The maximum speed of the Testarossa is 290 kilometres per hour (180 mph)."

The Leaning Tower of Vernazzano.

In the calling out to one another

Of the lovers up and down the strand

In the sound of the waves and the cries

Of the seagulls circling the sand

In the fragments of the songs

Carried down the wind from some radio

In the murmuring of the city in the distance

Ominous and low

I hear the sound of the world where we played

And the far too simple beauty

Of the promises we made

If you ever need holding

Call my name, I'll be there

If you ever need holding

And no holding back, I'll see you through

Sky, sky blue and black

Where the touch of the lover ends

And the soul of the friend begins

There's a need to be separate

and a need to be one

And a struggle neither wins

Where you gave me the world I was in

And a place I could make a stand

I could never see how you doubted me

When I'd let go of your hand

Yeah, and I was much younger then

And I must have thought that I would know

If things were going to end

And the heavens were rolling

Like a wheel on a track

And our sky was unfolding

And it'll never fold back

Sky blue and black

And I'd have fought the world for you

If I thought that you wanted me to

Or put aside what was true or untrue

If I'd known that's what you needed

What you needed me to do

But the moment has passed by me now

To have put away my pride

And just come through for you somehow

If you ever need holding

Call my name, I'll be there

If you ever need holding

And no holding back, I'll see you through

You're the color of the sky

Reflected in each store-front window pane

You're the whispering and the sighing

Of my tires in the rain

You're the hidden cost and

the thing that's lost

In everything I do

Yeah and I'll never stop looking for you

In the sunlight and the shadows

And the faces on the avenue

That's the way love is

That's the way love is

That's the way love is

Sky blue and black
