Phase IV

When the deposits close to the surface were mostly depleted, Command shifted focus towars deeper-laying veins that were difficult to access. Drones were sent to cut shafts down to a selection of underground ore clusters and equipped with material dissolving chemicals to etch out the bores to fit our harvesters. Slowly but steaily, the surface of Atlas became speckled with holes close to a kilometer in diameter. Harvesters were refitted for underground operation and personnel moved down into the hellholes, myself included. Many wouldn't see the surface again. The brittle desert ground soon collapsed on the caverns, shaken by the reckless harvesting underground, burying man and machine operating under its dome. On the night-side the heat of the mining process melted the frozen soil around the edges of the hellholes, flooding mines with mud, leaving dark craters scattered across the icy landscape. Inevitably, sooner or later something had to go gravely wrong. In the process of cutting a tunnel the drones hit a gas vein, lighting up the whole deposit. Within fractions of a second, the surface of Atlas was shaking and a blinding green flash illuminated the freezing night.

I built this scene for the Atlas collab with @JakobKaiserMOCs, @exluse and @Oshi. I made the scene with my TV as background and J.K for edited he picture.

Hope you guys like it and thanks to @JakobKaiserMOCs for making this collab possible.

Day 361 (v 10.0) - i haven't caught up to myself

AMTK P42DC #66, the Phase II unit, sits among a deadline of wrecked P42s and original Phase IV P40s used for parts.

Finally, my last eclipse image.

This is a composite of the images that I took as the moon covered the sun. The moon took the first bite out of the lower left of the sun's disk and the images proceed clockwise around to the bottom with my totality image in the center. The images then continue clockwise to the sun's disk with the small bite on the upper right.

Rock and sandstone patterns, Panther Beach, Davenport California. Yes, its a bit of a mess, but kind of a pretty mess. The Taffoni-like sandstone patterns at this location have always attracted my eye, so I spent some time studying the patterns, settling on an abstract composition of this small alcove lit up by the sun just as it touched the horizon.

Amtrak Keystone Service 655 flies through Villanova University's campus under a remaining original PRR Position light signal tower, with the newly repainted Amtrak Metroliner Cabcar #9635 leading in new Phase VII paint (the first of the Metroliners to get this treatment!).

Though it's sparkled up in the newest paint scheme from Amtrak (sides included!) the Metroliner Cabcars still show their years of hard work they put into passenger service.

Phase One P65+

The images were taken with Jupiter 37A lens. Time lapse interval is 3 minutes between shots. I wanted to capture more phases, but cloudy skies interfered with my intentions. I believe that apparent different disk size is noticeable. The Super Moon was observed January 31 2018. The atmosphere affected the color rendition. Photoshop white balance is the same on all images.

Clouds, snow and water mix with the colors of approaching sunset and both play on the terrain to beautifully illustrate the phases of our planet's water cycle.

From left to right, each camera represents the different phases I've gone through in my particular journey in the hobby of photography.

An outbound Regional Rail train approaches Temple University station. In the background one can see the incredibly rare phase break position light signals, though somewhat obscured by catenary and signal bridges.

March 3, 2026 - Lunar Blood Moon Eclipse Phases, as seen and photographed from my Home in Long Beach, CA. I captured these phases from 1:38 AM - 2:58 AM, until the clouds completely covered the Lunar Eclipse for the rest of the entire morning. This is a composite of the Lunar Eclipse Phases.

"King's College Chapel is the chapel at King's College in the University of Cambridge. It is considered one of the finest examples of late Perpendicular Gothic English architecture. The chapel was built in phases by a succession of kings of England from 1446 to 1515, a period which spanned the Wars of the Roses. The chapel's large stained glass windows were not completed until 1531, and its early Renaissance rood screen was erected in 1532–36. The chapel is an active house of worship, and home of the King's College Choir. The chapel is a significant tourist site and a commonly used symbol of the city of Cambridge.

Cambridge is a university city and the county town of Cambridgeshire, England, on the River Cam approximately 50 miles (80 km) north of London. At the United Kingdom Census 2011, its population was 123,867 including 24,506 students. Cambridge became an important trading centre during the Roman and Viking ages, and there is archaeological evidence of settlement in the area as early as the Bronze Age. The first town charters were granted in the 12th century, although modern city status was not officially conferred until 1951.

The University of Cambridge was founded in 1209. The buildings of the university include King's College Chapel, Cavendish Laboratory, and the Cambridge University Library, one of the largest legal deposit libraries in the world. The city's skyline is dominated by several college buildings, along with the spire of the Our Lady and the English Martyrs Church, and the chimney of Addenbrooke's Hospital. Anglia Ruskin University, which evolved from the Cambridge School of Art and the Cambridgeshire College of Arts and Technology, also has its main campus in the city.

Cambridge is at the heart of the high-technology Silicon Fen with industries such as software and bioscience and many start-up companies born out of the university. Over 40 per cent of the workforce have a higher education qualification, more than twice the national average. The Cambridge Biomedical Campus, one of the largest biomedical research clusters in the world, is soon to house premises of AstraZeneca, a hotel, and the relocated Papworth Hospital.

The first game of association football took place at Parker's Piece. The Strawberry Fair music and arts festival and Midsummer Fair are held on Midsummer Common, and the annual Cambridge Beer Festival takes place on Jesus Green. The city is adjacent to the M11 and A14 roads. Cambridge station is less than an hour from London King's Cross railway station." - info from Wikipedia.

Summer 2019 I did a solo cycling tour across Europe through 12 countries over the course of 3 months. I began my adventure in Edinburgh, Scotland and finished in Florence, Italy cycling 8,816 km. During my trip I took 47,000 photos.
