This is a minifig-scale model of "The Phantom", the shuttle from the TV series "Star Wars Rebels". It's about a foot long and has a full interior, with working hatches at the rear and on the underside.

Many thanks to Ryan McBryde for letting me use his nose and cockpit design - and also for his help and suggestions in creating this model.

I also have a thread for this model on Eurobricks:

Update: Many, many thanks to monekypaws for making the instrctions available for free on rebrickable - link here.

This page contains both a step-by-step set of instructions and a parts list. The details section contains a list of rare parts to check before attempting a build.

The Phantom Ship is an island in the amazing Crater Lake in Oregon. It appears that people think that it resembles a ghost ship, thus the name. The crater slope behind the island with its top illuminated by the rising sun is reflected in the water.

I fantasmi di Venezia

Phantom of the Opera still life. Just something a little different from me.

The early morning sun highlights the spectacular volcanic rock formations of the famous Phantom Curve at Milepost 312.30, as D&RGW K-27 Locomotive #463 works west toward Cumbres Pass with a short freight train.

One of the interesting things about the former D&RGW line from Antonito, CO to Chama, NM is that there are many prominent and memorable locations on this line and most of them have names, some of which date back to the early days of the Denver & Rio Grande. Such is the case with this one. Apparently, D&RG crews often made the run through here at night and the oddly shaped volcanic rocks and spires cast shadows that appeared to dart about in the glow of the locomotive headlights. This, combined with the squealing of the flanges on the tight curves created a very eerie environment for the engine men as they negotiated this section of the line, leading to the name "Phantom."

This image was captured during an October 2024 photo shoot on the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad, organized by Lerro Photography.

Inspired by the Architectural wonders of Andreas, KingBrick and Stijn Oom.

I wanted to primarily test destruction in this build, but one thing led to another and I ended up making something with much more life and flavour than I had originally intended to create.

Detroit Phantom MK1 Police Cruiser. In an alternative 1940’s Detroit, the Chicago mob see's to muscle there way into the city. Only one small problem. Two police officers known as the Wright Brothers! The Chicago mob may have the muscle, but not the attitude. The brothers however where born and bread in Detroit and have plenty of attitude. The kind of attitude that only a Detroiter can have. It’s the Detroit way, the Wright way! Or the highway to hell!

Very few Phantoms still serve around the world now with Germany about to relinquish theirs in just a few months leaving Japan, Greece and Turkey amongst the last to fly them.

Big, brutish and with it's cranked wing-tips and severe anhedral tailplane, the Phantom was a radical design but it very soon proved itself in Vietnam where the USAF, US Navy and US Marine Corps utilised them heavily throughout the war there.

Several thousand were built and operated by amongst others: USA, UK, Germany, Egypt, Turkey, Greece, Spain, Israel, Iran, Japan and South Korea.

Most have been retired and scrapped but many of the US examples ended their days as QF-4 Target Drones equipped as unmanned missile 'fodder'!

As a kid, it was either the USAF Phantom, the Lightning or the Vulcan bomber that I recall more than any other from the airshows I attended. The Phantom has almost been forgotten as I cant recall the last time I saw one let alone one in use.

This example at the IWM Duxford brought back some of those childhood memories.

One of two islands inside Crater Lake.

So this is very delayed, but this is the touchdown of the final F-4 Phantom the USAF ever flew on December 21st, 2016. I happened to be stationed at Holloman AFB at the time and had a photo pass for the base, since I did F-16 photography as well. The airfield operations crew was kind enough to take me along with the base public affairs photographer to get shots of the takeoffs and landings.

If you're wondering about the title, whenever the Phantom is mentioned, there seems to be a lot of purposeful misspellings of words beginning with "f" and replacing it with "ph". Because it's cool.

I'm not sure if I like the color or the black and white shot more. Oh well, I posted both.
