Way back in a comment on my first post, I mentioned that I was working on the phantom from the Star Wars Rebels TV show. As evident from the dust, I haven’t touched it since then :P

I thought that if I uploaded this, I might have some motivation to actually finish it, mostly its ‘just’ the interior that needs completing but a few other details could do with being reworked too.

Let me know what you think, a fresh perspective on this may just be what I need to finally get it done :)

I bought a DJI Phantom 3 Professional quadcopter, and this is a still image from the 12 MP on-board camera. I used HDR mode for this. I'm not entirely happy -- there's some slight chromatic aberration on the left, and at 100% resolution you can see hundreds of hot pixels, especially in the sky. This was shot with the f/2.8 lens wide open, ISO 100. If I can figure out how to stop down the lens, that should help with the CA. I'm not sure what to do about the white pixels. I could shoot a black frame and partially subtract it out; this would turn the hot pixels into "gray" pixels, which might be less obtrusive.

My first attempts at video don't look so good. I've seen some really good video taken with this model, so I hope my shooting and post-processing technique will improve.

This was taken about 80 feet above my front yard.

74 squadron F-4J(UK) ZE363 taxies past Crash Gate 5 on a cold, frosty November day. 1990 was the year. When the RAF realised they were a bit short of fighters they acquired some ex-USN F-4Js for a few years service. Wish they'd do that again!

Considering Foxy here uses the FNaF2 design rather than the original, it was an interesting experience sculpting him.

Oh yeah, this is the first time I've ever taken apart a limb that wasn't all the way, so, sorry if that looks off. The paint job is decent in my honest opinion. It's not a 'wow' factor, but it's enough to look accurate.

Have a good one everybody :)

Table Mountain was a top destination for me after the huge rain last weekend. I hiked all the way to Flag Falls, hitting Phantom Falls on the way, and ended up back at hollow falls for sunset. I wanted to shoot Phantom at sunset, but wimped out (didn't want to walk back from here in the dark solo). On the way to Flag canyon, I spotted what looked like some fresh mountain lion tracks followed by a few dead cows….not sure if they were related in any way, but the sunset was not shaping up so well and I figured I would get closer to the car for the last light with all of that in mind! Many more images to come from this trip, but I wanted to start with the beautiful Phantom Falls, illuminated by the late diffused afternoon light coming through the breaking clouds. Hope you enjoy, let me know what you think!

Wikipedia reports: Antelope Canyon is a slot canyon in the American Southwest. It is on Navajo land east of Page, Arizona. Antelope Canyon includes two separate, scenic slot canyon sections, referred to individually as "Upper Antelope Canyon" or "The Crack"; and "Lower Antelope Canyon" or "The Corkscrew." The Navajo name for Upper Antelope Canyon is Tsé bighánílíní, which means 'the place where water runs through rocks'. Lower Antelope Canyon is Hazdistazí (called "Hasdestwazi" by the Navajo Parks and Recreation Department), or 'spiral rock arches'. Both are in the LeChee Chapter of the Navajo Nation. The canyons are accessible by guided tour only."
