Senior Petal High student Kyle Smith, Quarterback, throws a pass before being picked off by Brandon High defense.

I'm in love with this shot. Period. End of story. It's probably the contrast of the creamy petals against all that gorgeous bokeh in the background, which I miraculously captured with my kit lens!

I've been wanting to do this edit for a while, but it wasn't until the advanced selection capabilities of CS5 that I was able to pull it off (the grey petal on the grey carpet being the tricky part!).

This was not planned; the once-full and blossoming sunflower was set in that cup as make-shift vase. One week later, with unchanged water, it was beginning to die; the yellow powder on the table is pollen that had since fallen from it.

Recently fallen petals from a beautiful tree.

outing to petaling street... jalan2 cari buah berangan... ( dreaming nuts ) =P

shooting handheld with a reverse lens at 1.8F is probably the difficult things I had ever experienced till now

I took this at Safeway...lol...I have no sunflowers yet...

We had the most heavenly spring day here today-- bright sunny blue skies, temperatures in the 70s, and a light breeze. I never realized that there is constantly a breeze blowing everything around until I started taking macro shots of plant life on a regular basis. The wind is always blowing. This shot took quite awhile to get waiting for a lull in the breeze. The notched orange yellow petals of this coneflower looked like flames blowing in the wind.

Bersih group gathering at Petaling Street early this morning.

The photo mojo continues to drag along, so here is todays lazy offering.

The peony bush in our garden was blossoming in profusion. These images offer an abstraction of their petals.

I am still learning how to effectively use the Raynox macro adapter. With f/6.3 on a medium telephoto lens, the DOF is so narrow that the resulting image has only a sliver of the petal in sharp focus. The result is a very impressionistic image, not typical of most macro adapters.

While reviewing the final RAW files, I realized that the white peony petals were beautiful abstractions of human interaction and I labelled them accordingly.

もう終わりかけなんだけど、花びらがきれい。

Taken at Lanhydrock, Cornwall - fallen rhododendron petals against a backdrop of lichen on the wall.

We have bump! (foal due in April)
