I used some watercolour paper to add some Pearlescent paint for my background. I put some pink in the corner where I knew the die cut in the frame was. The frame is a Die cut from Couture Creations. The sentiment is from Quietfire Designs, The butterfly is a stamp and die set from Hero Arts. Coloured with Distress Markers and an aqua pen.
Oak Knoll Winery. Thirteen Miatas; Charles' NC is just to my right. The red Mazdaspeed turbo in the foreground belongs to the tour leaders and organizers, Dom and Mary Anne. You can't see the ghost flames, in violet and fuchsia, that are pearlescently hidden on the nose of that car... but they're there, and awesome.
Issued by Franklin Mint in 2005. It is 1:24 scale.

I stamp the butterfly on cream card and type the vellum underneath it when I cut out. Also stamp the greeting on same CS.
Adhesive vellum butterfly on White CS.
Use glue dot only in the center of stamped butterfly and bend the wing a bit to add dimension.

Deboxing my LE Wedding Cinderella. The cardboard backing has been removed from the inner box, and is free standing. The doll is attached to the backing by wires and plastic ties. The background image is the exterior stairs of the Castle at night.
On my second attempt to get the the Limited Edition Wedding Cinderella 17'' Doll from eBay, I finally got her! I got her with the help of a fellow collector. She is #450 of 500, and was originally sold by the Japan Disney Store. There is a Japanese sticker on the bottom of the box. She was shipped double boxed, and very well packed. She arrived in perfect condition.
She is very beautiful, and has a serene expression, rather than the grumpy pout of the LE Ballgown Cinderella doll. Her lips have a slight smile, which is part of why she has a more pleasant expression than the other doll, who shares the same face mold. She is glancing in the opposite direction of the Ballgown Cinderella, and her skin has a matte surface, rather than the shiny pearly surface of the Ballgown doll. Her pale yellow wedding gown has many differently sized and colored rhinestones enhancing the printed floral pattern. There are also several small jeweled plastic butterflies in the skirt, hidden amongst the flowers. The decorations continue throughout the back of the dress. There are also faux pearl buttons on her sleeves and on the back of her bodice. Her skirt is very full with a long train, and is in three differently colored layers. Under her skirts is a 3/4 length single layer tulle petticoat. Attached to her hair is an oversized pale yellow sheer chiffon veil. She has golden earrings and a jeweled golden tiara. Her wedding ring is a floral design with five golden beads; it is pinned to her hand. She has the old style legs, with fixed ankles. She is wearing simple ivory heels, with no decorations.
I will be posting a full set of detailed photos of this doll. She will be shown boxed, during deboxing, and fully deboxed, both by herself and with other Disney Store dolls.

Another card for Caardvarks CAS challenge. This time I stamped the Poppies onto the white card with Versafine Onxy black and embossed with clear EP before colouring in with Pearlescent paints. I dry embossed the edge of the card before mounting the poppies.
OE-INC GL5T Global Jet Austria (departing 23 in GVA). This aircraft has a unique pearlescent/iridescent paint coat (ChromaFlair variant probably). Its colours vary from the angle you look at it and from where the light comes from. Stunning!

VW Bora 1.9 TDI Sport 4 door Saloon, manual, Pearlescent Black with a pale grey interior, 1st Reg. October 2005. A 'Wolf in Sheep's Clothing'! Purchased instead of a VW Golf in favour of the more capacious boot.
In the three years I owned this car it was faultless. Apart from tyre changes and routine servicing, she never required as much as a replacement bulb. Covering 35,000 mls in the first two years she was kept as standby for my ‘errant’ A6 (in a previous posting). One of my favourite cars.

I took a couple shots with my bike(left) so the paint would stand out a bit more. The tones are similar with a very fine metal flake to it. Like a metallic pastel, blue-green-ish thing going on. Unless you're within about 10 feet it comes off more of a silver pearlescent effect. Beautiful work over at COAT, and a great build by Greg Morris of Milholland. The parts selection for the touring bike are perfect in both function and appearance.

I decided to fold this model even smaller, this one is folded from 6 squares of pearlescent crane paper, measuring 2.5cm x 2.5cm.
I made this a long time ago and have never got round to taking a picture of it. Instructions and videos demonstrating how to fold this model can be found online.

Flower stamped with brillance pearlescent chocolate and clear embossed, colored with distress inks mustard seed, dusty concord and crushed olive. Added some white gem dots with the perlen pen. Stamped the butterflies with memento sweet plum and colored with mustard seed distress ink, added a gem on the body.

One of a series of pieces inspired by the jewel-like colors and patterns of hummingbirds, this pin represents the exotic-looking male Lucifer, whose diabolical-sounding name means "light bearer." Lucifer Hummingbirds nest in the Big Bend and Davis Mountains of Texas and the mountains of southwestern New Mexico and southeastern Arizona.
This pendant was hand-formed from artist-grade polymer clay. The individually sculpted "feathers" get their pearlescent glow from whisper-thin metallic foils and shimmering mica powders, with color-enhancing pigments blended into multiple layers of water-based varnish.
This new lens is a work of art. It's simply gorgeous. Entirely hand made, fully metal construction, hand etched Shippo-yaki markings (pearlescent cloisonne enamel), very limited edition. The epitome of Japanese engineering and art. It's wide angle at 31mm and fast at f/1.8. Voted one of the best prime lenses EVER made by Popular Photography. These lenses are semi-legendary in their construction and sharpness. This is the latest HD variant of this lens designed for digital cameras and even the lens cap is metal and lined with velvet. I've been waiting several months for this day and I cannot wait to shoot with this bad boy. Expensive? Sure. But it's an investment right? 😁

Beads in the mokume gane style. Made with alcohol ink-tinted aluminum leaf, metallic paint (Lumiere, Halo Purple, I think it's called), and probably something else that isn't coming to mind. Maybe Daler-Rowney Pearlescent Acrylic Ink (Moon Violet)?
For my BYW class Colour Story assignment, I was inspired by the soft metallic patterned notebooks I bought recently [they form the background patterns in these photos] I then mixed different metallics like silver and bronze with natural woods and pearlescents. I also had a play with Picnik.com to create the mosaic and add the text. A fun change from the "seriousness" of Photoshop!

My 2015 Elsa Limited Edition 17'' Doll, fully deboxed. She is posed standing, supported by the included doll stand.
The Limited Edition Elsa Doll, released in stores in North America on March 3, 2015. My doll is #2942 of 5000. She is in jeweled purple felt (made from faux wool). This is the outfit she wore as an 18 year old when saying good bye to her parents before their overseas journey. She is wearing ice blue jeweled satin gloves, which help repress her ice powers. Her hands are clasped together. Her pose and look are that of a sternly repressed nature. She is standing in front a purple window of the Castle, which is closed, as she is closed to the outside world.
She is wearing black flats with floral decoration. Her jacket is pinned to her dress, which I left alone, as it helps to keep the jacket from opening up. There was a large amount of tissue paper stuffing under her skirt. I had to remove her from the doll stand before I could remove the tissue.
She has shiny pearlescent skin, and her skin tone is between that of Coronation Elsa and Snow Queen Elsa. In bright lighting, her skin is iridescent with a a purple sheen. Her hair is slicked down in the front and is in a bun in the back. There is gold tinsel in her hair, even in her side burns.

Year made 1987, one piece curly maple neck, bound head veneer with mother of pearl and abalone inlays, 13 7/8 scale, bound ebony fingerboard, mother of pearl position markers, solid carved spruce top, solid carved curly maple back, solid curly maple rim, tuned top and back. Gold machine heads with pearlescent buttons, engraved gold tail piece, adjustable Fishman pickup bridge.
with the recent acquisition of a box of fabulous vintage buttons, this stunning (and i do mean stunning) ring is just the kind of statement that draws people's attention!
the largest button is just slightly larger than a quarter and is clear, concaved, faceted glass. this button alone would have been perfectly happy on someone's finger, but i felt it needed a friend or two. so, i placed inside its "bowl" another clear round vintage button (this one is faceted plastic) and topped it all off with a slightly off-center, pretty vintage pearlescent button. All this on a gorgeous floral engraved silver-toned adjustable ring!
want to make a statement? this is definitely it. and, because there is almost no color, it can go with absolutely anything!
