Just begging to be worn to a very, very special occasion. Or for a fabulous fairy tale photo shoot! Lined in a pink satin, the entire dress has a second layer of gorgeous lace over it. Horizontal strips of the lace fabric feature lovely little roses. A piece of billowy lace lays over the upper part of the dress in front and back. There is a zipper and hook-eye closure up to the mid back, and then above that are five precious pearlescent buttons. The Edwardian collar adds an extra romantic dimension to the gown.

In excellent vintage condition. No label.

This is another fidget toy, this time the layers are star shaped, unfortunately I can't show a side view (as you would see that it forms a 3D pyramid / cone) because everytime I tried to suspend it to do so, it collapsed.

How ever, an interesting phenomenon does occur. The toy is, as with the others, pearlescent and changes colour depending upon how it catches the light. This photo seems to have the same properties.

Take a good look at it and after a few minutes of watching, I am sure you will agree that the colours do change. Of course, like me, it could be just your imagination. :-)

This teneral, or newly emerged dragon, was a rare sight for me as its wings were still drying and hardening and had a hazy, pearlescent luster that wasn't see-through yet...very cool and weird looking!

I borrowed the title from Richard Harris's 1968 album that featured a big hit 'MacArthur Park', which was 7:20 minutes long! I'll never forget having to wait through two thirds of it, hearing about the cake left in the rain, for an up-tempo, go go boot stomping instrumental section, called "Allegro"! It was a good poetic ballad throughout, but I was all about the upbeat part back then! The song is still highly popular among my generation, and Donna Summer released a great disco version of it in 1978...

The Loch Ard Gorge is one of the best-loved stop-off points along the Great Ocean Road. It’s situated in the Port Campbell National Park and is just three minutes from the world-famous formation of the Twelve Apostles.

The picturesque gorge is home to a smooth, pearlescent bay and an inlet of clear, blue water. It’s flanked by two yellow-washed cliff faces and tufts of vibrant greenery. Though it looks like something out of a storybook, Loch Ard isn’t just a pretty face. In fact, it has an interesting and colourful history that spans back hundreds of years.

Its name is no coincidence…

Back in 1878, a large clipper ship engraved with the name Loch Ard beached on nearby Muttonbird Island after a tumultuous journey from England. Unfortunately, only two of the fifty-four passengers survived, one of whom was a fifteen-year-old boy called Tom Pearce, and the other a seventeen-year-old Irish girl called Eva Carmichael.

Both passengers were washed ashore during the event where Pearce proceeded to raise an alarm to the surrounding locals. The act saved Carmichael’s life, though she returned to England soon after, having lost most of her family in the tragedy. Pearce continued to live a fruitful life and was often referred to as a hero of his time.

Water and Sky

Gregory Scott

In Water and Sky, Gregory Scott dissolves the line between sea and atmosphere, offering a vision where reflection and reality become indistinguishable. Waves of liquid blue, pearlescent white, and deep marine tones undulate across the composition, suggesting not just a landscape but an emotional state—fluid, ever-shifting, and infinite.

This is not a literal place, but a memory of stillness in motion—a moment caught between breath and surrender. Sky melts downward, water rises in response, and the viewer is suspended in a space of elemental unity. Light and motion are inseparable, coalescing into a visual meditation on impermanence and harmony.

Scott’s signature technique blends control and spontaneity, evoking the feeling of watching the world ripple through the lens of a dream. Water and Sky invites us not just to see, but to drift—to lose ourselves in the tides of wonder, mystery, and silence.

Went for a walk down the river tonight with the dogs. No real intention of photography, so left tripod in the car, but took the camera just in case.

So sod's law dictates I was met by a lovely sunset and pearlescent reflective tones.. So this is handheld, with the ISO pushed to 640.

Mistletoe is an evergreen plant with distinctive forked branches and pairs of symmetrical evergreen leaves. In winter it produces clusters of pearlescent white berries which are favourites with hungry birds such as thrushes. The plant is 'hemiparasitic', which means it takes some of its food from another plant.

To see the beauty of this photo, double click on the picture. Good luck!..

This photo was taken without special equipment, special light, special macro lens and computer processing (and even without a tripod)...

Personally I really like this new sleeker design, granted I would have change the pearlescent parts to match their respect color.

A Tropical Christmas -

My idea of a nice Noel picture is a windowpane view of snowflakes flying; tumbling softly to join the pearlescent blanket covering an illuminated street. Disadvantageously, where I live the season never changed and houses with chimneys are unheard of so listening to Rudolph’s hoofs up on the roofs only happens in dreams. While my friends staying in the temperate zone are caroling, “Let it snow!” “Let it Snow!” half of me are happy they’re blessed with snow, but my darker half pouts with green eyes lit. Can I make the most of what I have? Well, I suppose an interesting flipside of frosty Christmas would be a furnace version. For this reason, I rented a kayak to put me ashore on an uninhabited island. Lo, on the crescent-shaped coastline the trees afar and near were laden with coconuts as big as my head. Monkey see, monkey do. I managed to rid the stupid thoughts of getting a refreshing drink because I could not climb. Speaking of the atmosphere, initially it was plain blue and clear but after some time… I felt lightening by degrees from the inside. I gazed up and saw a marvel. The things that clouded my mind had lifted to Greek heights, and manifested as cotton wool so white sailing the sky! Ooh, the no show of shark fins upon the crystalline seawater in gradients of green made the place a true paradise. I had never felt the urge to jump for anything in the city but I did naturally. A slight push off the powdery grains and my feet is up. With bowed knees in the mid-air and lifted hands, I erupted in praise for the cinematic scene before me. It’s magic how the bright sunlight had chomped off a big fragment of my shadow for the time being. For an afternoon where I hammock and listen to the song of the tide, the sunshine rained on me. How swift is the approach of dusk heralding day’s end. Taking a last look on the islet tailing off behind, the wind brought to my face a sweet smile. My stress left together with the sudsy waves.

Special thanks to Jesus, without Him, the amazing flora and fauna on land, and marvelous marine life in the ocean could not exist.

In humid humor I make a tropical picture of Christmas from Singapore, of baked sands and coconut trees swinging in the breeze. :)

The Giant Silverfish is wearing a faded taupe ‘Okinawa Silk’ coat with removable embossed silk ‘Cowled Collar and Frontispiece’ with pearlescent buttons of ebony with red coral details. He is wearing a one-way transparent silk mask, with additional ‘feelers’, and matching gloves. The cowl is lined with scarlet silk, also from Okinawa.

This ‘cross species’ ensemble, which can be adjusted to fit all body shapes and aspirations, is an example of our 2024 season ‘Universal Equality’ range.

It should be stated that these images are 'temporary', that is that they have been generated whilst waiting for ChaCha to emerge from his arduous meditative "self-exploration". The shoes, specifically designed as part of this ensemble, are not included in this image, and will be unveiled on the 'Catwalk' in the Spring, and in the upcoming worldwide magazine campaign.

Meanwhile we wait in anticipation of ChaCha's chrysalis-like emergence, with all his chakras aligned.

A few more of our captures from this morning of NLC over our hometown of Bromsgrove. Even though we live in a LP area, we were able to photograph these magnificent rare and beautiful clouds.

They are the highest clouds in Earth's atmosphere, located in the mesosphere at altitudes of around 76 to 85 kilometres (47 to 53 mi). They are normally too faint to be seen, and are visible only when illuminated by sunlight from below the horizon while the lower layers of the atmosphere are in the Earth's shadow.

Just looking around after all the weather yesterday.

For at least 10 years we've been trying to get some traditional "Maine" lupines to grow in our gardens. Finally a crop has sprouted and we're ecstatic! Although they are not truly happy being put into a vase, Teddy has managed to encourage them to be still for a selfie! The stunning hand-crocheted doily is from my dear flickr island friend, Terry, in Maine. Check out her gorgeous stream: www.flickr.com/photos/native_islander/

Nautiluses are found in only the Indo-Pacific, from 30° N to 30° S latitude and 90° E to 175° E longitude. They inhabit the deep slopes of coral reefs.

Nautiluses reproduce by laying eggs. Gravid females attach the fertilized eggs to rocks in shallow waters, whereupon the eggs take eight to twelve months to develop until the 30 millimetres juveniles hatch.

Nautiluses are the sole living cephalopods whose bony body structure is externalized as a planispiral shell. The animal can withdraw completely into its shell and close the opening with a leathery hood formed from two specially folded tentacles. The shell is coiled, aragonitic, nacreous and pressure resistant, imploding at a depth of about 800 m (2,600 ft). The nautilus shell is composed of two layers: a matte white outer layer, and a striking white iridescent inner layer. The innermost portion of the shell is a pearlescent blue-gray. The osmeña pearl, contrarily to its name, is not a pearl, but a jewellery product derived from this part of the shell.

Size

Nautilus pompilius is the largest species in the genus. One form from Indonesia and northern Australia, once called Nautilus repertus, may reach 25.4 cm (10.0 in) in diameter.[13] However, most nautilus species never exceed 20 cm

Hero stamp E4605 Always & Forever used here as the focal point. The background was done using a scroll design stamp, lined up and stamped repeatedly with Brilliance Pearlescent Beige ink (detail photo posted after this one shows the stamp.) The ink is very shimmery in real life...sparkles when the light hits it just so. The "love" ribbon embellishment is from K & Company and the seam binding ribbon is from Martha Stewart. Embossed swirl background done with the Cuttlebug. Thanks for looking! :) Tami

Halo is a wind activated kinetic sculpture by two of Australia’s pre-eminent public artists, Jennifer Turpin and Michaelie Crawford. It’s an extraordinary integration of art, science and engineering acting in collaboration with the natural environment. According to Michaelie, “The inspiration for Halo came from the history and industrial forms of the old brewery combined with a dynamic response to the natural and built environment of the new precinct.”

As its name suggests, Halo comprises a giant, glistening tapered yellow ring measuring 12 metres in diameter attached to a 6 metre long silver arm, it pivots off-centre atop a 13 metre high tilted silver pole. The ring itself is made from carbon fibre, an ultra-light yet incredibly strong and robust material, often used in high-end boat manufacturing. The ring has been painted in a pearlescent glaze which catches the light and gives the ring an intense golden glow.

March, 2019

Grasses hold lanterns of pearlescent white, while cows lie down in the foggy light, the haze is a shroud, a heavy cloak, we trod onwards and live in hope.

Was messing with the Pentagon technique that ixlramp came up with on CSF...and this is the result. I didn't realize how much dark red I had until I started building this...or that gold color for that matter. Also, I busted out the stickers for the first time. Comments and criticisms welcome.
